An Efficient Algorithm for Updating Discovered Association Rules in Data Mining (데이터 마이닝에서 기존의 연관규칙을 갱신하는 효율적인 앨고리듬)

  • This study suggests an efficient algorithm for updating discovered association rules in large database, because a database may allow frequent or occasional updates, and such updates may not only invalidate some existing strong association rules, but also turn some weak rules into strong ones. FUP and DMI update efficiently strong association rules in the whole updated database reusing the information of the old large item-sets. Moreover, these algorithms use a pruning technique for reducing the database size in the update process. This study updates strong association rules efficiently in the whole updated database reusing the information of the old large item-sets. An updating algorithm that is suggested in this study generates the whole candidate item-sets at once in an incremental database in view of the fact that it is difficult to find the new set of large item-sets in the whole updated database after an incremental database is added to the original database. This method of generating candidate item-sets is different from that of FUP and DMI. After generating the whole candidate item-sets, if each item-set in the whole candidate item-sets is large at an incremental database, the original database is scanned and the support of each item-set in the whole candidate item-sets is updated. So, the whole large item-sets in the whole updated database is found out. An updating algorithm that is suggested in this study does not use a pruning technique for reducing the database size in the update process. As a result, an updating algoritm that is suggested updates fast and efficiently discovered large item-sets.

  • We collect the Korean Database which can be trained for the speech recognition engine in an automotive environment. We describe the overall trends of the Korean database collections in this paper and suggest a database collection method for the speech recognition system of the car-kit and explain several conditions in collecting the database in the automotive environments. Finally, we expain an effective method of the Korean database collection in the automobile and the results of the database colletions, and the devised softwares used for the collection of the database.

  • This paper presents case studies on database Quality uSing an extended database Quality model developed by Korea Database Promotion Center, which shall be called KDPC2003. The model is applied to evaluate two kinds of databases ; one is an operational database, the other is an information service database. The purpose of this research is two-folded. One is to evaluate database quality and assess current status of database quality management; the other is to assess usefulness of KDPC2003 and to propose ideas for its augmentation. The findings in this study will provide basic facts to test database quality evaluation models.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a central database and a database management system to store and manage information systematically from each module of an integrated structural design system. In order to efficiently express structural design process related to the data which is very complex, we used an object-oriented modeling methodology to propose the possibility to apply a database schema for application programs in an integrated system for reinforced concrete structural design. Based on this model, we developed an interface between each module and central database. After modeled by using object modeling technique, the database was mapped by the relational database table. Then the central database and the interface were programed by using Visual C/syo ++/, a windows environmental development tool.

  • This study presents a database quality evaluation framework. As a way to build a framework, this study expands data quality management to include data transformation processes as well as data. Further, an information structure graph is applied to represent data transformations processes. An information structure graph is absed on a relational database scheme. Thus, data transformation processes may be stored in a relational database. This kind of integration of data transformation metadata with technical metadata eases evaluation of database qualities and their causes.

  • In addition to enabling access, database accounts play a protective role by defending the database from external attacks. However, because only a single account is used in the database, the account becomes the subject of vulnerability attacks. This common practice is due to the lack of database support, large numbers of users, and row-based database permissions. Therefore if the logic of the application is wrong or vulnerable, there is a risk of exposing the entire database. In this paper, we propose a Least-Privilege Account Separation Model (LPASM) that serves as an information guardian to protect the database from attacks. We separate database accounts depending on the role of application services. This model can protect the database from malicious attacks and prevent damage caused by privilege escalation by an attacker. We classify the account control policies into four categories and propose detailed roles and operating plans for each account.

  • This study attempts at building an integrated GIS computing framework for evaluating space-time accessibility of an individual with the approach of time geography model. The proposed method is based on the integration of mobile GIS and object-relational spatio-temporal database. Three components are central to our system: ( i ) mobile GIS application that transmits spatio-temporal trajectory data of an individual; ( ii ) spatio-temporal database server that incorporates the time geography model; and (iii) geovisualization client that provides time geographic queries to the spatio-temporal database. As for the mobile GIS application, spatio-temporal trajectory data collected by GPS-PDA client is automatically transmitted to the database server through mobile data management middleware. The spatio-temporal database server implemented by extending a generic DBMS provides spatio-temporal objects, functions and query languages. The geovisualization client illustrates 3D visual results of the queries about space-time path. space-time prism and space-time accessibility. This study shows a method of integrating mobile GIS and DBMS for time geography application, and presents an appropriate spatio-temporal data model for evaluating space-time accessibility of an individual.

  • This paper presents a geotechnical information system(HGIS) developed for Korea Highway Corporation. To make a database for boring information, characterization study of boring data is carried out. Based on tile study, the HGIS database is developed as a relational database. The HGIS database consists of 23 tables including 13 reference tables. For an effective database management, a boring log program called GEOLOG is developed. GEOLOG can print boring log and store those data to tile HGIS database.

  • In this paper an architecture for 3D audio core algorithm evaluation database system. Due to increase of 3D audio system through multimedia device, an evaluation system is required for evaluating the 3D core algorithms for developing 3D audio system. Conventional evaluation systems have some problems. Researchers have to learn usage of evaluation system, in addition it is inefficient to use and search audio sources because audio sources are not indexed in general. To solve these problems, we design the architecture of 3D audio core algorithm evaluation database system enabling to automatically evaluate core algorithms using database management system. Also we define XML metadata scheme for information of saved audio source in database. This approach allows improving efficiency of search audio source and use of audio database.

  • As data size increase, a single database is not enough to serve current volume of tasks. Since data is partitioned and stored into multiple databases, analysis should also support parallelism in order to increase efficiency. However, traditional analysis requires data to be transferred out of database into nodes where analytic service is performed and user is required to know both database and analytic framework. In this paper, we propose an efficient way to perform K-means clustering algorithm inside the distributed column-based database and relational database. We also suggest an efficient way to optimize K-means algorithm within relational database.
