  • One of the advantages of computer graphics is that it enables to view an object on different viewpoints and different angles. Therefore, a computer graphics system should be able to rotate an arbitrary object by an arbitrary angle about an arbitrary axis. This is usually done by rotating vertices that represent an object and connecting them. Hence an image may have many vertices, it is important to be able to rotate each of them quickly. Therefore, this paper is interested in a rotation matrix computation method that consists of the smallest number of computational steps. This pater proposes an algorithm that computes rotation matrix to rotate a 3 dimensional image about an arbitrary axis quickly.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate efficiently an odor dispersion from waste treatment facility for a crematory and a neighborhood facility, then propose planning, a location of an opening or the arrangement of the trees. Hence, offer a comfortable environment for a resident. For this, first the research data about estimating odor dispersion from waste treatment facility and odor are analyzed, then research an ingredient, characteristic, a direct effect for human and a method of measurement. Second, with on-site survey, check odorimetry and the source of odor dispersion, then apply this to the boundary condition of CFD simulation. Third, analyse by the hour for the 2008 standard weather data of Cheon-an, then apply summer data that odor dispersion is active, winter data relatively slow and an annual mean velocity and wind to the simulation. Even if a crematory and neighborhood facility located on south and north from waste treatment facility are at the low rate, the south and north wind will be applied to the simulation. Fourth, with CFD simulation result, predict an odor dispersion, then propose a solution which is considered an odor dispersion, a location of an opening and the arrangement of the trees. Consequently, this study will have an effect on an environment of a resident.

  • The effects of the mixing of an active material and a conductive additive on the electrochemical performance of an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) electrode were investigated. Coin-type EDLC cells with an organic electrolyte were fabricated using the electrode samples with different ball-milling times for the mixing of an active material and a conductive additive. The ball-milling time had a strong influence on the electrochemical performance of the EDLC electrode. The homogeneous mixing of the active material and the conductive additive by ball-milling was very important to obtain an efficient EDLC electrode. However, an EDLC electrode with an excessive ball-milling time displayed low electrical conductivity due to the characteristic change of a conductive additive, leading to poor electrochemical performance. The mixing of an active material and a conductive additive played a crucial role in determining the electrochemical performance of EDLC electrode. The optimal ball-milling time contributed to a homogeneous mixing of an active material and a conductive additive, leading to good electrochemical performance of the EDLC electrode.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive sliding mode control (ASMC) strategy with an enhanced optimal reaching law (EORL) for the robust current tracking control of the boost converter based hybrid power source (HPS) in an electric vehicle (EV). A conventional ASMC strategy based on state observers and the hysteresis control method is used to realize the current tracking control for the boost converter based HPS. Then a novel enhanced exponential reaching law is proposed to improve the ASMC. Moreover, an enhanced exponential reaching law is optimized by particle swarm optimization. Finally, the adaptive control factor is redesigned based on the EORL. Simulations and experiments are established to validate the ASMC strategy with the EORL. Results show that the ASMC strategy with the EORL has an excellent current tracking control effect for the boost converter based HPS. When compared with the conventional ASMC strategy, the convergence time of the ASMC strategy with the EORL can be effectively improved. In EV applications, the ASMC strategy with the EORL can achieve robust current tracking control of the boost converter based HPS. It can guarantee the active and stable power distribution for boost converter based HPS.

  • Radionuclide identification is an important part of the nuclear material identification system. The development of artificial intelligence and machine learning has made nuclide identification rapid and automatic. However, many methods directly use existing deep learning models to analyze the gamma-ray spectrum, which lacks interpretability for researchers. This study proposes an explainable radionuclide identification algorithm based on the convolutional neural network and class activation mapping. This method shows the area of interest of the neural network on the gamma-ray spectrum by generating a class activation map. We analyzed the class activation map of the gamma-ray spectrum of different types, different gross counts, and different signal-to-noise ratios. The results show that the convolutional neural network attempted to learn the relationship between the input gamma-ray spectrum and the nuclide type, and could identify the nuclide based on the photoelectric peak and Compton edge. Furthermore, the results explain why the neural network could identify gamma-ray spectra with low counts and low signal-to-noise ratios. Thus, the findings improve researchers' confidence in the ability of neural networks to identify nuclides and promote the application of artificial intelligence methods in the field of nuclide identification.

  • The notion of a mighty (vague) filter in a BE-algebra is introduced, and the relation between a (vague) filter and a mighty (vague) filter are given. We investigate an equivalent condition for a (vague) filter to be mighty, and state an extension property for mighty filter. Also we define the notion of an n-fold mighty filter which is an extended notion of a mighty filter in a BE-algebra. Characterizations of an n-fold mighty filter are given. Extension property for an n-fold mighty filter are provided.

  • This paper deals with design problem of unit load automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS). We propose an optimal design model in which the investment and maintenance costs of AS/RS, operating under dual command model is minimized over a time horizon satisfying the warehouse dimensional constraints. The model is formulated as an integer nonlinear program and an algorithm is proposed to find an optimum solution. The valididty of the solution algorithm is illustrated through an example.
