A Study for FIPA-OS Multi-Agent Framework in OSGi Service Platform

  • In this paper, we implemented a FIPA-OS multi-agent framework bundle in OSGi Service Platform. FIPA-OS is an open agent platform for constructing FIPA compliant agent using mandatory components that required by all FIPA-OS agents to execution and optional components that FIPA-OS agent car optionally use. The platform supports communication between multiple agents and communication language which conforms to the FIPA standards. FIPA-OS framework bundle is composed of DE(Directory Facilitator), AMS(Agent Management System), ACC(Agent Communication Channel) and MTS(Message Transport System) bundle. These bundles installed in the OSGi service platform and their life cycle can be managed by the framework.

  • The paper deals with the interaction between three Griffith cracks propagating under antiplane shear stress at the interface of two dissimilar infinite elastic half-spaces. The Fourier transform technique is used to reduce the elastodynamic problem to the solution of a set of integral equations which has been solved by using the finite Hilbert transform technique and Cooke’s result. The analytical expressions for the stress intensity factors at the crack tips are obtained. Numerical values of the interaction efect have been computed for and results show that interaction effects are either shielding or amplification depending on the location of each crack with respect to other and crack tip spacing. A FAST KACZMARZ-KOVARIK ALGORITHM FOR CONSISTENT LEAST-SQUARES PROBLEMS

  • In some previous papers the author extended two algorithms proposed by Z. Kovarik for approximate orthogonalization of a finite set of linearly independent vectors from a Hibert space, to the case when the vectors are rows (not necessary linearly independent) of an arbitrary rectangular matrix. In this paper we describe combinations between these two methods and the classical Kaczmarz’s iteration. We prove that, in the case of a consistent least-squares problem, the new algorithms so obtained converge ti any of its solutions (depending on the initial approximation). The numerical experiments described in the last section of the paper on a problem obtained after the discretization of a first kind integral equation ilustrate the fast convergence of the new algorithms.   • We develop the evaluation method of functional requirements for excavator design. The functional requirement of the product can be deduced from voice of customer. QFD method is used in order to convert customer requirement to functional requirement. The measure of information index is used to evaluate quantitatively the product quality characteristics. The correlation score between customer requirements and functional requirements and benchmarking score of competitors are basic data for the measure of information.

A FASTER LU DECOMPOSITION FOR PARALLEL C PROGRAMS

  • This report introduces a faster parallel LU decomposi-tion algorithm that gives a speedup almost equal to the number of nodes used. The new algorithm takes an advantage of an important C feature that lays out a matrix using a row major scheme and is based on the currently widely used LU decomposition algorithm with one major modification to eliminate most of the communication overhead. Empirical results are included in this report. For example solving a dense matrix that contains 100,000,000 elements gives a speedup of 50 when executed on 50 nodes of an intel Paragon in parallel.

  • If one is to estimate environmemtal risk based on data or predict risk based on expert opinion the parameter environmental risk musk be defined precisely so that when data becomes available the numerical values of the estimates and/or prediction can be evaluated. Also the definitionmust be precise so that it may be successfully used in regulatory and litigation activities. The presentation is a develop-ment of a definition which lends to statistical analysis and to inference in addition lends to ease of engineering interpretation. Various impli-cations and useful extensions in measuring numerically for two or more dimensional mixed effects of several toxicants could be developed in further research.

Wiggle Matching for Radiocarbon Dating Korean Artifacts with Biannual Samples

  • This paper reports the application of radiocarbon wiggle matching for Korean wooden artifacts such as furniture and Buddhist statues for precise dating. Ten biannual samples of 20 years (AD 1249-1268) for AMS (accelerator mass spectrometry) radiocarbon measurements were prepared from a board of the pedestal for Buddhist statue at Jeongsusa (temple) in Kangwhado, Korea, which was dendrochronologically dated. The average 95.4% confidence interval of radiocarbon dating without wiggle matching was 123 year. When wiggle matching technique was applied, it became 37 year, 3.3 times smaller than that without wiggle matching. The results indicated that wiggle matching technique using the calibration curve for northern hemisphere (IntCal04: International radiocarbon calibration curve announced in 2004) can produce precise dates for Korean wooden artifacts which possess as much as 20 tree rings.

Nonlinear forced vibrations of multi-scale epoxy/CNT/fiberglass truncated conical shells and annular plates via 3D Mori-Tanaka scheme

  • In the context of classic conical shell formulation, nonlinear forced vibration analysis of truncated conical shells and annular plates made of multi-scale epoxy/CNT/fiberglass composites has been presented. The composite material is reinforced by carbon nanotube (CNT) and also fiberglass for which the material properties are defined according to a 3D Mori-Tanaka micromechanical scheme. By utilizing the Jacobi elliptic functions, the frequency-deflection curves of truncated conical shells and annular plates related to their forced vibrations have been derived. The main focus is to study the influences of CNT amount, fiberglass volume, open angle, fiber angle, truncated distance and force magnitude on forced vibrational behaviors of multi-scale truncated conical shells and annular plates.
