Knowledge, Attitudes, and Educational Needs for Sexuality of the Elderly (노인의 성 지식과 태도 및 교육요구)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and educational needs for sexuality of the elderly. Method: This was a descriptive study, in which data were collected from February to April 2002 from 354 elderly who were residing in Chung-Chung province. Result: 1. The level of knowledge regarding sexuality was below average. 2. The level of the attitudes toward sexuality of the elderly was neither positive nor negative. 3. The educational needs of the elderly were above average. 4. Higher level of knowledge on sexuality was significantly correlated with more positive attitudes and education needs for sexuality, and more positive attitudes toward sexuality was significantly correlated with more educational needs for sexuality. Conclusion: Particularly men, with good health, and those who were in intimate relationships with their spouses and still engaged with active sexual life showed somewhat higher level of knowledge and positive attitudes as well as higher educational needs. Therefore, further development and applying of sexuality promotion programs for healthy elder couples should be considered in the future to enhance the quality of life of elder population. In addition, it is also suggested to develop an alternative intervention program on sexuality for elderly who are women, those with meager health, and the bereaved.

Deep Neural Network-Based Scene Graph Generation for 3D Simulated Indoor Environments (3차원 가상 실내 환경을 위한 심층 신경망 기반의 장면 그래프 생성)

  • Scene graph is a kind of knowledge graph that represents both objects and their relationships found in a image. This paper proposes a 3D scene graph generation model for three-dimensional indoor environments. An 3D scene graph includes not only object types, their positions and attributes, but also three-dimensional spatial relationships between them, An 3D scene graph can be viewed as a prior knowledge base describing the given environment within that the agent will be deployed later. Therefore, 3D scene graphs can be used in many useful applications, such as visual question answering (VQA) and service robots. This proposed 3D scene graph generation model consists of four sub-networks: object detection network (ObjNet), attribute prediction network (AttNet), transfer network (TransNet), relationship prediction network (RelNet). Conducting several experiments with 3D simulated indoor environments provided by AI2-THOR, we confirmed that the proposed model shows high performance.

  • With the development of AI and digital technologies such as big data, metaverse, and the Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has brought great development and change to companies. Among these realistic industrial areas by RPA, the call center service area, which consists of a combination of complex high-tech systems and professional operation groups, has now reached the stage where AI is conducting counseling. The evolution of this digital transformation has become an important direction of change in the digital-related industry sector. Along with these changes, there have been many changes in the technical stress of the members of the organization within the RPA organization and their solutions. In this study, the representative psychological mechanisms were presented as Digital Shadow Work (DSW), expressed as 'unpaid work', and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), which is 'an act that helps organizations other than their duties'. This study theoretically contributes to the extension of the DSW concept to the organizational members.

Interaction Between Students and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Critical Mineral Inquiry Using Chatbots (챗봇 활용 핵심광물 탐구에서 나타난 학생과 생성형 인공지능의 상호작용)

  • This study used a Chatbot, a generative artificial intelligence (AI), to analyze the interaction between the Chatbot and students when exploring critical minerals from an epistemological aspect. The results, issues to be kept in mind in the teaching and learning process using AI were discussed in terms of the role of the teacher, the goals of education, and the characteristics of knowledge. For this study, we conducted a three-session science education program using a Chatbot for 19 high school students and analyzed the reports written by the students. As a result, in terms of form, the students' questions included search-type questions and non-search-type questions, and in terms of content, in addition to various questions asking about the characteristics of the target, there were also questions requiring a judgment by combining various data. In general, students had a questioning strategy that distinguished what they should aim for and what they should avoid. The Chatbot's answer had a certain form and consisted of three parts: an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. In particular, the conclusion included commentary or opinions with opinions on the content, and in this, value judgments and the nature of science were revealed. The interaction between the Chatbot and the student was clearly evident in the process in which the student organized questions in response to the Chatbot's answers. Depending on whether they were based on the answer, independent or derived questions appeared, and depending on the direction of comprehensiveness and specificity, superordinate, subordinate, or parallel questions appeared. Students also responded to the chatbot's answers with questions that included critical thinking skills. Based on these results, we discovered that there are inherent limitations between Chatbots and students, unlike general classes where teachers and students interact. In other words, there is 'limited interaction' and the teacher's role to complement this was discussed, and the goals of learning using AI and the characteristics of the knowledge they provide were also discussed.

  • Today's healthcare, intelligent robots, smart home systems, and car sharing are already innovating with cutting-edge information and communication technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, the Internet of Intelligent Things, and Big data. It is deeply affecting our lives. In the factory, robots have been working for humans more than several decades (FA, OA), AI doctors are also working in hospitals (Dr. Watson), AI speakers (Giga Genie) and AI assistants (Siri, Bixby, Google Assistant) are working to improve Natural Language Process. Now, in order to understand AI, knowledge of mathematics becomes essential, not a choice. Thus, mathematicians have been given a role in explaining such mathematics that make these things possible behind AI. Therefore, the authors wrote a textbook 'Basic Mathematics for Artificial Intelligence' by arranging the mathematics concepts and tools needed to understand AI and machine learning in one or two semesters, and organized lectures for undergraduate and graduate students of various majors to explore careers in artificial intelligence. Emerging Data Management Tools and Their Implications for Decision Support

  • Recently, we have witnessed a host of emerging tools in the management support systems (MSS) area including the data warehouse/multidimensinal databases (MDDB), data mining, on-line analytical processing (OLAP), intelligent agents, World Wide Web(WWW) technologies, the Internet, and corporate intranets. These tools are reshaping MSS developments in organizations. This article reviews a set of emerging data management technologies in the knowledge discovery in databases(KDD) process and analyzes their implications for decision support. Furthermore, today's MSS are equipped with a plethora of AI techniques (artifical neural networks, and genetic algorithms, etc) fuzzy sets, modeling by example , geographical information system(GIS), logic modeling, and visual interactive modeling (VIM) , All these developments suggest that we are shifting the corporate decision making paradigm form information-driven decision making in the1980s to knowledge-driven decision making in the 1990s.

  • In developing an Expert System(ES), there are two ways. One is to develop an ES using AI(artificial Intelligence) languages and another using ES-development tools. CLIPS is an ES-development tool and has a powerful inference engine in it. Using the tool like CLIPS, knowledge engineer can concentrate on constructing a knowledge base without wasting time in developing an inference engine. However, CLIPS is lack of user-friendly interfaces for both knowledge enginners and users. Because CLIPS was developed in USA, it can not afford to use Korean language. Therefore, several user-friendly interfaces including hmenu, htille, hpcxdisplay were develpoed and added to CLIPS. CLIPS with the interfaces is called HCLIPS(Hangul CLIPS) in this paper. HCLIPS provides a new I/O device to be utilized for expert systems in Korean. HCLIPS can be efficiently used for developing expert systems in agriculture and consulting farmers interactively who are not familiar with computer programming and ES itself.

  • Recently, the development of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Expert System has caused some interest in the possibility of developing an intelligent CAD system. However, these development and possibility are in an extremenly early stage for Architectural design. In this study, the design process of Residence being recognized as a Constraints-satisfied model, a part of these constraints used in the Architectural design of Residence are being systematized and sorted by the design process. Those regulations and planning items to be considered in the basic planning stage are being systematized as a knowledge base system. The possibility of this knowledge-based system as an effective design tool is studied and an integrated form of Architectural design system is proposed.

Disambiguiation of Qualitative Reasoning with Quantitative Knowledge (정성추론에서의 모호성제거를 위한 양적지식의 활용)

  • After much research on qualitative reasoning, the problem of ambiguities still hampers the practicality of this important AI tool. In this paper, the sources of ambiguities are examined in depth with a systems engineering point of view and possible directions to disambiguation are suggested. This includes some modeling strategies and an architecture of temporal inference for building unambiguous qualitative models of practical complexity. It is argued that knowledge of multiple levels in abstraction hierarchy must be reflected in the modeling to resolve ambiguities by introducing the designer's decisions. The inference engine must be able to integrate two different types of temporal knowledge representation to determine the partial ordering of future events. As an independent quantity management system that supports the suggested modeling approach, LIQUIDS(Linear Quantity-Information Deriving System) is described. The inference scheme can be conjoined with ordinary rule-based reasoning systems and hence generalized into many different domains.

  • Designing and implementing to support both technical and social interaction by group members, GDSS can effect positively on developing and sustaining knowledge-intensive organization. This study proposes usage types of GDSS as KMS. By understanding level of GDSS, knowledge transfer process, and group members' interaction modes, we suggest some additional characteristics of GDSS and possible technology to be able for ai)plying to GDSS.
