Purpose: This study was done to estimate the prevalence of atopic dermatitis (AD) and its risk factors for AD in children living in the community. Method: Random samples of 10,236 were selected from 43 kindergarten (1,418) and 57 elementary (8,718) students in K city. Data from 1,079 (kindergarten children) and 7,271 (elementary) students were used in the final analysis. The Korean-translated modified version of the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISSAC) questionnaire was used in this cross-sectional survey. Parents answered the survey questionnaire. Results: The lifetime and last 12-month prevalence of AD were 40.15%; 30.86% in kindergarten children and 33.56%; 25.37% in elementary children. The lifetime and last 12-month prevalence of AD diagnosis were 40.8%; 18.68% in kindergarten children and 34.36%; 12.63% in elementary children. The lifetime prevalence of AD treatment was 25.93% in kindergarten children and 22.07% in elementary children. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that risk factors for AD were age, allergic disease, age of house, carpets, pets. Conclusion: The study suggests that prevalence of AD has increased among children in the community. These data can be used to manage possible risk factors that are predictors of childhood AD.
The replication competent adenoviral vector (AV), AdLPCDIRESE1A was generated and reported previously to have cytotoxic effects in some cell lines. In AdLPCDIRESE1A, the expression of cytosine deaminse (CD) and E1A genes are under the control of tumor-specific L-plastin promoter. CD enzyme can deaminate the nontoxic prodrug 5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) to the toxic 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). E1A gene is essential for viral replication. Primary liver cancer, most of which is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is the third common leading cancer in Korea. Thus, we have conducted in vitro preclinical study to evaluate effectiveness of AdLPCDIRESE1A on HCC. The efficacy of cytotoxicity was measured by generation of cytopathic effect (CPE) and cell counting. We infected HepG2 cells with various MOI of vector alone or concurrent with 5-FC. Exposure of cells to AdLPCDIRESE1A generated a significant cytotoxic effect as compared to the control. Almost 83% of the cell had manifested the characteristic cytotoxic effect on day 9 after infection of cells with 10 MOI of vector. We also observed the additive cytotoxic effects when AdLPCDIRESE1A vector had been coadministrated with 5-FC. The results suggest that the use of AdLPCDIRESE1A/5FC may be value in treatment of liver cancer. Further animal studies are needed for clinical trial.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the presenting type of menu labels(regular/descriptive) and knowledge level(high/low) on the advertisement(Ad) comprehension, attitude toward the Ad, attitude toward the brand, purchase intentions. For that reasons, 157 university students who are majoring in food-service management or culinary arts were conveniently selected as sample for $2{\times}2$ factorial design. A final sample of 153 responses were deemed usable and then two-way ANOVA was used for statistical analysis. The findings are as follows. First, there were significant differences between the presenting types of menu labels and communication effects including the Ad comprehension, attitude toward the Ad, attitude toward the brand, purchase intentions. It can be known that descriptive menu labels showed higher communication effects than regular menu labels. Second, there were significant differences between the knowledge levels and communication effects including the Ad comprehension, attitude toward the Ad, and purchase intention but not in attitude toward the brand. It can be known that consumers with relatively high knowledge levels showed higher the Ad comprehension, attitude toward the Ad, purchase intention than consumers with low knowledge levels. The results of this study can be used as data for more effective menu marketing and basic of further empirical study for effectiveness of menu labels.

An ad hoc wireless networks forms temporary network without the aid of fixed networks or centralized administration with a collection of wireless mobile hosts. In this case, it is necessary for one mobile host to enlist the aid of other hosts in forwarding a packet to its destination. This paper presents an efficient cluster-based routing protocol scheme for ad hoc networks. The cluster is used for path setup and data delivery. Our cluster-based routing algorithm is designed for the improvement of the load balance. Our simulation results show the improved performance for low mobility networks comparing with the previous works.

The mobile radio networks can be divided into networks that has the base station or the infrastructures like AP(Access Point) and Ad Hoc network that hasn't any infrastructures. As there aren't any fixed infrastructures in Ad Hoc Networks, mobile nodes should transmit the data oかy among mobile nodes themselves. To supplement these weakpoints of the two networks, many studies about Ad Hon based on the 802.11 are in progress. In this thesis, we try to propose the efficiency of the suggested protocols by comparing and analyzing power saving protocols according to the Beacon intervals in multi hop Ad Hoc Networks based on IEEE 802.11.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic inflammatory disease of preceding the development of allergic disorders. The incidence of AD is increasing and it causes problems with administrative costs. Therefore, no side effects, easyto- use development of AD treatment is needed. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether PBMCAT, a functional extract from herbal complex was effective to treat the AD mice. AD was induced by patching ovoalbumin on the backside in BALB/ c mouse and then mice were topically treated with PBMCAT. Elidel $cream^{(R)}$ (pimecrolimus, PL) was used as a control. Scratching counts (SC) and clinical skin severity (CSS) were measured, and total serum IgE level was also measured. After inducing AD, SC and CSS were increased. The total serum IgE level was also increased in AD-induced mice. Treatment with PBMCAT significantly decreased SC, CSS, and serum IgE concentration in mice. Especially, treatment of PBMCAT 0.1% in BALB/c mice more effected than PL. These results suggest that the ointment of PBMCAT may enhance the process of AD healing by influencing phase of allergic reacting.

Adiponectin (Ad), a 30 kDa molecule, is an anti-diabetic adipokine; although derived from adipose tissue, it performs numerous activities in various other tissues. It binds to its own receptors, namely adiponectin receptor 1(AdipoR1), adiponectin receptor 2 (AdipoR2), and T-cadherin (CDH13). Ad plays several roles, especially as a regulator. It modulates lipid and glucose metabolism and promotes insulin sensitivity. This demonstrates that Ad has a robust correlation with fat metabolism. Furthermore, although Ad is not in direct contact with other tissues, including the skin, it can be delivered to them by diffusion or secretion via the endocrine system. Recently it has been reported that Ad can impact skin cell biology, underscoring its potential as a therapeutic biomarker of skin diseases. In the present review, we have discussed the association between skin cell biology and Ad. To elaborate further, we described the involvement of Ad in the biology of various types of cells in the skin, such as keratinocytes, fibroblasts, melanocytes, and immune cells. Additionally, we postulated that Ad could be employed as a therapeutic target to maintain skin homeostasis.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder. Suppression of MAPKs and NF-κB is implicated as a vital mechanism of action of several traditional Chinese medicines for AD therapy. Although overexpression of MAPK mRNA in the skin tissue has been shown in the AD model, the roles of each MAPK in AD pathogenesis have rarely been studied. This study examined the effect of NJK14047, an inhibitor of p38 MAPKs, on AD-like skin lesions induced in BALB/c mice by sensitization and challenges with 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (CDNB) on dorsal skin and ears, respectively. After induction of AD, NJK14047 (2.5 mg/kg) or dexamethasone (10 mg/kg) was administrated for 3 weeks via intraperitoneal injection. Following its administration, NJK14047 suppressed CDNB-induced AD-like symptoms such as skin hypertrophy and suppressed mast cell infiltration into the skin lesions. It also reduced CDNB-induced increase in TH2 cytokine (IL-13) and TH1 cytokines (interferon-γ and IL-12A) levels but did not decrease serum IgE level. Furthermore, NJK14047 blocked CDNB-induced lymph node enlargement. These results suggest that NJK14047, a p38 MAPK inhibitor, might be an optimal therapeutic option with unique modes of action for AD treatment.

Mobile Ad-hoc networks have recently attracted a lot of attention in the research community as well as in industry. Although the previous research mainly focused on various of Ad-hoc in routing, we consider, in this paper, how to efficiently support applications such as variable Goocasting basd on Ad-hoc networks. The goal of a geocasting uotocol is deliver data packets to a group of nodes that are located within a specified geocasting region. Previous research that support geocast nice in mobilie computing based on Ad-hoc have the non-optimization problem of data delivery path, overhead by frequent reconstruction of the geocast tree, and service disruption problem. In this paper, we propose the mobility pattern based geocast technique using variable service range according to the nobility of destination node and resource reservation to solve this problem. The experimental results show that our proposed mechanism has improved performance of Connection & Network Overhead than previous research.
