This study dealed with the effects of the blood pressure and regional cerebral blood fIow(rCBF) on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment to the acu-point equivalent to K 1 of sprague dawley rats(SDR). Acupuncture treatment of K 1 significantly decreased BP in SDR. 2. Acupuncture treatment of K 1 significantly increased rCBF in SDR. 3. Moxibustion treatment of K 1 significantly increased BP in SDR. 4. Moxibustion treatment of K 1 significantly increased rCBF in SDR. These results suggest that acupuncture and moxibustion causes a diverse response of blood pressure and reginal cerebral blood flow. During the moxibustion treatment of K 1 increased BP and rCBF, but after moxibustion recorved BP and rCBF. During the acupunture tretment of K 1 decreased BP and then recorved, rCBF was significantly increased.

Objectives : Bower Actinidia has been widely used for treatment of inflammatory diseases, such as jaundice, cystolithiasis. However, the mechanism of its anti-inflammatory activity has not been clarified. In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effect of Bower Actinidia pharmacopuncture extract(BA) on LPS-induced inflammation. Methods : The effect of BA was analyzed by ELISA, RT-PCR and Western blotting in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Results : We found that BA suppressed not only the mRNA expression of pre-inflammatory cytokines, cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS), but also the phosphorylation of ERK, JNK and p38. Conclusions : These results suggest that BA exerts an anti-inflammatory effect through the regulation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) pathway, thereby decreasing production of pre-inflammatory cytokines.

The main object of this paper is to introduce and investigate new subclasses of normalized analytic functions in the open unit disc $\mathbb{U}$, which generalize the familiar class of k-starlike functions. The various properties and characteristics for functions belonging to these classes derived here include (for example) coefficient inequalities, distortion theorems involving fractional calculus, extreme points, integral operators and integral means inequalities.

Objectives : The objective of this clinical case report is to describe an acupuncture treatment for dizziness after acoustic neuroma surgery. Methods : The patient was treated with acupuncture treatment for 4 months, 3 times per week. Duration for every treatment were 30 min by manual acupuncture with De Qi, which was designed to treat the dizziness and accompanied symptoms. Side-lying test was also used to evaluate dizziness and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HDRS) to evaluate depression. We evaluated the clinical result of the treatment by observing the patients symptoms. Results : After acupuncture treatments for 4 months, patient's Side-lying test reduced to 10 second, and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression reduced 4 points. Conclusions : The clinical case treatment report may suggest that the acupuncture treatment can be a meaningful option for the intractable dizziness after acoustic neuroma surgery, and also able to reduced depression scale.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report clinical effects of korean medical treatment based on Bal Mong Ja on a patient with sudden sensory hearing loss. Methods : In this study, we used acupuncture based on Bal Mong Ja on a patient with sudden sensory hearing loss. We also carried out treatments like herbal medication and moxibustion therapy etc. The progress of symptoms were evaluated by THI(Tinnitus Handicap Index), DHI(Dizziness Handicap Inventory), VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) once a week. Results : After 7 weeks, there were significant improvements of auditory acuity and THI, DHI, VAS. Conclusions : Acupuncture based on Bal Mong Ja is effective for relieving symptoms of sudden sensory hearing loss with tinnitus and dizziness.

Objectives : The objective of this study is to report a effectiveness of korean medical treatment based on Meridian Tendino-musculature Acupuncture to patient with cervical dystonia. Methods : In this study, we conducted treatment based on Meridian Tendino-musculature Acupuncture to patients. And we also carried out treatments like herb medicine and cupping therapy etc. Tsui's score, Neck Disability Index(NDI), Visual analogue scale(VAS) and angle of C-spine were measured once a month to evaluate the severeness of symptom. Results : After 24 sessions of treatment, there were improvements on Tsui's score, Neck Disability Index(NDI), Visual analogue scale(VAS) and angle of C-spine. Conclusions : Korean medical treatment based on Meridian Tendino-musculature Acupuncture may be effective for relieving symptoms of cervical dystonia.

Objectives : The objective of this study is to report the effect of foot orthosis on by observing 3 clinical case studies. Methods and Results : We investigated for the changes in Cobb's angle and pelvic height by using the standing full X-ray. After application of foot orthosis, Cobb's angle and pelvic height was reduced in cases. We treated 2 cases with only Foot Orthosis, 1 case with Foot Orthosis and Korean Medicine therapy. Conclusions : This study showed that foot orthosis can be effective way on nonstructural scoliosis and statistics study should be followed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to review the thread embedding treatment studies of obesity in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods : We reviewed 59 studies on cat-gut-embedding treatment of obesity which were published from 2005 to 2012. The studies were searched using the data base-CAJ(China Academic Journals; 中國期刊全文數據庫)(2005~2012). Results : Selected 59 studies were divided into 27 case series and 32 control studies. The number of studies has increased since 2005, more rapidly in 2011~2012. Most case series reported were about effectiveness of thread embedding monotherapy treating obesity. Control studies reported were about effectiveness of thread embedding treatment compared with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and medicine. Most studies on thread embedding treatment of obesity showed that its effectiveness was very good. Conclusions : There have been many reports of thread embedding treatment studies of obesity in Traditional Chinese Medicine. We believed that these studies could be applied to the clinical practice and basic research in Korea.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of electroacupuncture at GB14, on brain activity assessed on an electroencephalogram(EEG). Methods : (1) Thirty-four healthy participants were randomly divided into two groups, receiving either real acupuncture or non-penetrating sham acupuncture at GB14. (2) EEG measurements were conducted simultaneously before and after a 5-minute electroacupuncture stimulation, and the differences in the resulting EEG parameters were compared between the test and control groups. Results : (1) Absolute power increased significantly in the theta-wave channel of the occipital region and in the entire alpha-wave channel. (2) Relative power decreased significantly in the theta-wave channels of the frontal and occipital regions. (3) Coherence decreased significantly in the theta- and beta-wave channels of the parietal and occipital regions, and increased significantly in the alpha-wave channels of most areas. Conclusions : This study shows that electroacupuncture stimulation at GB14 activates the alpha frequency band in particular.

This study determined the factors that contributed to role performance by childcare teachers in Korea. Questionnaire data were gathered from 425 childcare teachers. Statistical analyses consisted of t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ and hierarchical regression analysis. There were no differences in the role performance of childcare teachers by age and experience. Differences were evident by education level and workplace type. Role performance was most affected by the internal-external control followed by emotional intelligence. The findings of this study are pertinent to childcare policy makers.
