Background and Purpose : There have been many studys about the relationship between the meridians and the acupoints of the twelve meridians, but no study about the extra points. To verify Dong-Shi acupoints, a kind of extra points, we studied the effects on the thermal changes of the ankle region following acupuncture on the Wu-Hu. Object and Methods : This study was researched into clinical statistics for 45 healthy normal students. The object was divided into two groups. One was the control group and the other was the acupuncture group. The acupuncture group was divided into two groups ; ACU-up : The class of ascent thermal change among acupuncture group. ACU-dn : The class of descent thermal change among acupuncture group. First, in the control group, we took a picture at the ankle region(BL60, BL62, GB40, ST41) without any stimulation with the Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging System and did after 10 minutes respectively. Second, in the acupuncture group, we took a picture without any stimulation and then acupuncture on Wu-Hu and took a picture after 10 minutes in the same way respectively. Results : 1. In the control group, average thermal change of BL60, BL62, GB40 and ST41 was decreased(about $0.2^{\circ}C$) after 10 minutes. 2. The skin temperature of all measured parts was significantly lower in the ACU-dn group after 10 minutes. 3. There were no significant differences of thermal change between the control and the acupuncture group, between the control and ACU-up group after 10 minutes. Conclusion : This result indicated that the acupuncture on the Wu-Hu was effective at the ankle region. And so the more study is needed continuously.

It was the Study for more deep understanding about the Frozen shoulder by literature investigation. The following result were obtained. : 1. The reason of Frozen shoulder is inflamatory reaction, degeneration, continual fixing, injury, etc. 2. The symptom of Frozen shoulder is shoulder pain, night pain, limit of joint movement. 3. Frozen shoulder is classified primary and secondary types and in the oriental medicine, is classified six types by the three Yin&Yang channels of the hand 4. Jackin's exercise or codman's exercise is used for kinesiatrics. 5. $Ky\check{o}njong$(SI9), nosu(SI10), $ch'\check{o}njong$(SI11) are in commonly used acupuncture point. 6. It is used to the Tongbihanseungbang, Small-intestine jeong kyuck in SA-AM Acupuncture. 7. It is used to the TrPs of subscapularis in MPS. 8. It is used to Frozen shoulder the Sin-kwan, Sahwajung, etc. in Dong-si Acupuncture. 9. It is used the I, HO or HN to Frozen shoulder treatment in Herbal Acupuncture. 10. Using the Electro-acupuncture, we select the point according to the channels. 11. Cupping or Moxibustion is commonly used with Acupuncture. 12. Commonly used recipes are Seokyungtang, Oyacksungisan, Banhakumchultang, etc.

We have studied Bee Venom Therapy to treat Sequalae of Sprain, and obtained following results. 1. The treatment of sprain is using the effect of the affected part on Bee Venom Therapy. 2. For the treatment of sprain, it is often used the near acupuncture point of injury(近位取穴) or painful point to press(阿是穴). 3. Bee Venom Therapy is one of the powerful treatment, so we are using the sequalae of sprain in the case of not cured by Acupuncture, Cupping or another therapy. 4. Bee Venom injection is started a small quantity, and is increased slowly by degrees. 5. The immune response by Bee Venom Therapy is a sort of Allergy, and it is classified large delayed reaction. It is considered positive reaction. 6. We have selected Acupuncture Points from one to four by the degree of injury. 7. The period of treatment is some different from the degree of injury, but generally we have obtained good results to treat from 5 to 20 by Bee Venom Therapy.

Counts of RBC and proportion of packed cell volume(PCV) showdc no difference among treatment groups. the values of hemoglobin in rat showed a tendeuy to increase in herbal-acupuncture group, however the values of hemoglobin in guineapig and rabbit showed no significant difference in the treatnent groups. the count of WBC showed high in the chishiI(BL52) herbal-acupuncture group. The proprtion of neutrophils showed no significant difference in rabbit, however the values in guinea-pig and rat showed a tendency to increased in herbal-acupuncture groups. The proportion of lymphocytes in rabbit and guinea-pig showed a tendency to decreast in herbal-acupuncture groups, however the values in rat showed no significant difference. The proportion of Eosinophils and monocytes showed no significant difference in all the treated groups. Results from this study indicated that shinsu(BL23) and chishil(BL52) herbal-acupuncture with palmijihwangtang elivate the biglogical function in Rabbit Guinea-pig and Rat.

The EDR(Event Data Recorder) is a part of the ACU(Airbag Control Unit) functions mounted on a vehicle. EDR data have pre-crash data and post-crash data. Pre-crash data are recorded within 5 sec from time zero(AE) with 0.5 sec resolution, and reveal vehicle speed, engine rotation speed, throttle opening, brake pedal operation, acceleration pedal position and steering angle, etc. Using this EDR data, the investigation of a traffic accident can become more objective and scientific. Crash tests of three vehicles equipped with EDR function had been performed successfully. Evaluation of EDR data reliability had also been performed using Vbox and PC-Crash's sequence table function. Based on the results, we could confirm EDR data's reliability and availability for Traffic Accident Analysis by the series of this process.

It is considered that comets near the ecliptic plane have been injected into inner solar system from Kuiper-belt. Some of them are still active while others are dormant with no detectable tails and comae. These dormant comets have eccentric and/or inclined orbits, which are parameterized by Tisserand parameter TJ<3. In addition, dormant comets can be differentiated from asteroids based on the albedo, because they have low albedo (the geometrical albedos pv<0.1). The conditions of TJ<3 and pv<0.1 have been used as a criteria to discriminate dormant comets from asteroids. We examined the formal oxidation states of Pb and Cu in the Pb2CuO4 slab of Pb2Sr2ACu3O8(A=Y1-xCaxor Nd1-xSrx) and their possible changes by oxygen incorporation in the Cu layer of the slab by performing tight-binding band electronic structure calculations on the Pb2CuO4+δ slab. Our results show that the most likely oxidation state of Pb is +2 and that of Cu is +1 for the Pb2CuO4 slab prior to oxidation. With small δ values, the oxygen incorporation occurs by the formation of such chain fragments as in YBa2Cu3O7-y along the a+b axis. The four-coordinate Cu atoms in the chain fragments are in the +3 oxidation states. For values of δ larger than 0.5, however, an additional oxygen (Oad) goes to the site along the b axis to form short Pb-Oad distances oxidizing Pb2+ to Pb4+. This change in the Pb oxidation state leads to the suppression of superconductivity due to the decrease of holes in the CuO2 layer.

Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the effects of Alismatis Rhizoma (AR) pharmacopuncture at BL23 on acute renal failure induced by cisplatin. Methods : The Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into Normal group (no injection of cisplatin and no treatment), Control group (cisplatin injection without treatment), Acu group (needling at BL23 after cisplatin injection), AR-PA1 group (treated with $0.3571mg/kg/20{\mu}l$ of AR pharmacopuncture at BL23 after cisplatin injection), and AR-PA2 group (treated with $1.7855mg/kg/20{\mu}l$ of AR pharmacopuncture at BL23 after cisplatin injection). Each treatment was given once daily for 8 days. Changes in body weight, kidney weight, tumor necrosis factor-alpha ($TNF-{\alpha}$), interleukin-6 (IL-6), Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase (Cu-Zn SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), serum blood urea nitrogen (serum BUN), and serum creatinine were observed. Results : Body weight was significantly increased in AR-PA1 on $4^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ days and AR-PA2 on $2^{nd}$ day. $TNF-{\alpha}$ was significantly decreased in Acu, AR-PA1 and AR-PA2 groups. Cu-Zn SOD was significantly increased in AR-PA2 group. GPx was significantly increased in AR-PA1 and AR-PA2 groups. But kidney weight, IL-6, serum BUN and serum creatinine were not significantly changed in any groups compared to control group. Conclusions : In acute renal failure induced by cisplatin, AR pharmacopuncture has a mitigating effect on the inflammatory reaction related to the increase of $TNF-{\alpha}$ in the kidney tissue and a protective effect on the oxidative stress of the kidney tissue. However it is unlikely to restore the glomerular function or inhibit the renal swelling.
