  • There have been some study characterizing monoids by homological classification using the properties around projectivity, injectivity, or regularity of acts. In particular Kilp and Knauer([4]) have analyzed monoids over which all acts with one of the properties around projectivity or injectivity are regular. However Kilp and Knauer left over problems of characterization of monoids over which all regular right S-acts are (weakly) at, (weakly) injective or faithful. Among these open problems, Liu([3]) proved that all regular right S-acts are (weakly) at if and only if es is a von Neumann regular element of S for all $s{\in}S$ and $e^2=e{\in}T$, and that all regular right S-acts are faithful if and only if all right ideals eS, $e^2=e{\in}T$, are faithful. But it still remains an open question to characterize over which all regular right S-acts are weakly injective or injective. Hence the purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between regular right S-acts and weakly injective right S-acts, and then characterize the monoid over which all regular right S-acts are weakly injective.

  • In this paper we introduce some new kinds of injectivities, namely, LC (resp. Ind, PInd) injectivity and investigate the relation among various kinds of injectivities. Some classifications of monoids by properties of these kinds of injective acts are presented. Among other results, it is shown that over a principal right ideal monoid, right completely LC-injectivity implies right completely injectivity. Also over a monoid with a zero Ind-injective (resp. PInd-injective) acts are injective.

  • In this paper, we first introduce the notions of superfluous and coessential subacts. Then hollow and co-uniform S-acts are defined as the acts that all proper subacts are superfluous and coessential, respectively. Also it is indicated that the class of hollow S-acts is properly between two classes of indecomposable and locally cyclic S-acts. Moreover, using the notion of radical of an S-act as the intersection of all maximal subacts, the relations between hollow and local S-acts are investigated. Ultimately, the notion of a supplement of a subact is defined to characterize the union of hollow S-acts.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to propose a general dialogue flow in 'the a appointment scheduling dialogues' in German using the concept of dialogue acts. A basic a assumption of this research is that dialogue acts contribute to the improvement of a translation system. They might be very useful to solve the problems that syntactic and semantic module could not resolve using contextual knowledge. The classification of the dialogue acts was conducted as a work of VERBMOBIL project and was based on real dialogues transcribed by experts. The real dialogues were analyzed in terms of the dialogue acts. We empirically analyzed the sequences of the dialogue acts not only in a series of dialogue turns but also in one dialogue turn. We attempted to analyZe the sequences in one dialogue turn additionally because the dialogue data used in this research showed some difference from the ones in other existing researches. By examining the sequences in dialogue acts. we proposed the dialogue flowchart in 'the a appointment scheduling dialogues' 'Based on the statistical analysis of the sequences of the most frequent dialogue acts. the dialogue flowcharts seem to represent' the a appointment scheduling dialogues' in general. A further research is required on c classification of dialogue acts which was a base for the analysis of dialogues. In order to e extract the most generalized model. we did not subcategorize each dialogue acts and used a limited number of items of dialogue acts. However. generally defined dialogue acts need to be defined more concretely and new dialogue acts for specific situations should be a added.

  • It is well known that human errors is involved in most of maritime accidents. For the purpose of reducing the influence of human elements on maritime activities, it is necessary to identify the human unsafe acts in those activities. The commonly used methods in identification of human unsafe acts are maritime accident statistics or case analysis. With the statistics data, people could roughly identify what kinds of unsafe acts or human errors have played active role in the accident, however, they often neglected some active unsafe acts while overestimated some mini-unsafe acts because of the inherent shortcoming of the methods. There should be some more accurate approaches for human error identification in maritime accidents. In this paper, the application of technique called grey relational analysis (GRA) into the identification of human unsafe acts is presented. GRA is used to examine the extent of connections between two digits by applying the, methodology of departing and scattering measurement to actual distance measurement. Based on the statistics data of maritime accidents occurred in Chinese waters in last 10years, the relationship between the happening times of maritime accidents and that of unsafe acts are established with GRA. In accordance with the value of grey relational grade, the identified main human unsafe acts involved in maritime accidents are ranked in following orders: improper lookout, improper use of radar and equivalent equipment, error of judgment, act not in time, improper communication, improper shiphandling, use of unsafe speed, violating the rule and ignorance of good seamanship. The result shows that GRA is an effective and practical technique in improving the accuracy of human unsafe acts identification.

  • This paper, based on Krifka (2001), is about the interpretation of quantifiers in questions. I have argued that quantification into question acts is possible for universal quantifiers, as these quantifiers are based on conjunction, an operation that is defined for speech acts. This explains the restriction to universal quantifiers, which are generalized conjunctions. I have developed a type system in which quantification into question acts can be described. I have argued that expressions that scope out of speech acts must be topic, which explains a number of additional observations. I have also discussed embedded questions, which, depending on the embedding verb, may allow for quantification into questions.

  • This paper is to show the relationship between power and communication. For this purpose, speech act theory has been introduced. Power is the capacity of some persons to produce intended effects on others. And the human being tries to get intended effects by perlocutionary acts through performing illocutionary acts, both of which belong to speech acts. Generally speaking, therefore, it can be said power is exercised through speech acts. Of course, in case of exercising physical force or violence, no speech act is needed. However, even violence is not totally unrelated with communication. Moreover, power other than violence is always in need of speech acts for its exercise. Including psychic force, power in general is in a close relationship with communication by mediation of speech acts. This paper, using speech act theory, attempts to examine that what is the relationship power and communication hold, that the exercise of power is the same as performing speech acts called perlocutionary acts, that the form of power is differentiated by kinds of illocutionary acts used for its exercise, and that morality of power is different according to illocutionary acts used for its exercise.

  • The large-scaled and high-rise construction structures in recent years have increased high place work, leading to an increase in falling accidents (hereinafter, "accidents"). The need for prediction and management of unsafe acts of workers at construction sites has been raised as unsafe acts of workers are identified as the main cause of industrial accidents. This research aims at deriving the improvement effect of unsafe acts by presenting the relationship between unsafe acts of workers and accidents at construction sites as a probability. Unsafe acts of workers were derived based on the analysis of accident cases. In addition, surveys were conducted to calculate the probability of occurrence of accidents caused by unsafe acts (hereinafter, 'accident probability'). The Event Tree Analysis (ETA) was utilized to confirm the final probability according to the combination of unsafe acts and improvement effect. The accident probability by unsafe act was found to be the highest for working after drinking (95.41%) and to be the lowest for equipment and machine utilization (65.70%). The accident probability according to a combination of unsafe acts was the highest when all of the unsafe acts were conducted (13.23%) and was the lowest when none of the unsafe acts were conducted (0.00%).

  • Although the properties of flatness and condition (E) for Sacts over a monoid S are incomparable, Liu([10]) showed that necessary and sufficient condition for a monoid S over which all left S-acts that satisfy condition (E) are flat is the regularity of S. But the problem of describing a monoid over which all cyclic flat left S-acts satisfy condition (E) is still open. Thus the purpose of this paper is to characterize monoids over which all cyclic flat right S-acts satisfy condition (E).

  • The purpose of this paper is to continue the investigation of monoids over which various properties of acts happen to coincide. Special concern is to characterize monoids by regular right acts. In particular there are given some characterizations of monoids over which all right acts that satisfy condition (E)(or condition (P)) are regular.
