  • This paper propose a variable parameter estimations for variable over current load of five-phase squirrel-cage induction motor(IM) to servo control system. In order to high performance control of AC motor using a field oriented control(FOC) and direct torque control(DTC) algorithm, there are required precise motor parameters for slip calculation, flux observer, controller gain, torque command of current components, rotor position, speed estimation, and so on. We are suggest a analyzed estimation results of the motor parameters that developing five-phase squirrel-cage IM have a stator of concentrated winding for experimental within variable over current load at rated input frequency. • An LCL-type Isolated dc-dc converter operating for constant output voltage is analyzed, including the effect of a high frequency transformer using ac complex circuit approximation. Its solution is derived and is used to obtain the characteristics of the proposed converter. The analyses show through converter modeling, phasor diagram and gain comparison that inclusion of a high frequency transformer results in introduction of magnetizing inductance and leakage inductances at conventional LCL dc-dc converter with ideal transformer. The theoretical and simulation results are presented in case of the wide variations in input voltage and load current in detail. Analysis and simulation results observed that introduction of a transformer in the dc-dc converter had considerable effect on the performance, especially in the case of low output voltage and large load.

  • While a cutting tool is machining a workpiece at various cutting depth, the feedrate is usually selected based on the maximum depth of cut. Even if this selection can avoid power saturation or tool breakage, it is very conservative compared to the capacity of the machine tools and can reduce the productivity significantly. Many adaptive control techniques that can adjust the feedrate to maintain the constant cutting force have been reported. However, these controllers are not very widely used in manufacturing industry because of the limitations in measuring the cutting force signals. In this paper, turning force control systems based on the estimated cutting force signals are proposed. A synthesized cutting force monitor is introduced to estimate the cutting force as accurately as a dynamometer does. Three control strategies of PI, adaptive and fuzzy logic controllers are applied to investigate the feasibility of utilizing the estimated cutting force fur turning force control. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed systems can be easily realized in CNC lathe with requiring little additional hardware.

  • The enhanced phase angle estimation algorithm is essential to supply the power stably under synchronizing with grid source. In this paper, we are proposed the novel phase angle estimation algorithm and verified the validity of proposed method as simulation with PSIM and experiments. We sort the harmonics element using high-pass filter(HPF) that have the cut-off frequency below basic element and make reverse d-q transformation. So, it can be restored the harmonics element at stationary axis, and we can get the fundamental voltage element of AC grid. Proposed PLL method have a rapid responsibility and a large margin at controller design than conventional method because it have a small phase delay and a sufficient controller gain margin. And, it can reduce the error of voltage rms value and axis transformation according to robust PLL algorithm against the harmonic and phase unbalance.

  • The lighting control power circuits should be designed in stable region according to the environment. A stable circuit is analyzed using ac equivalent circuits. The flyback converter with wide input voltage ranges is suitable for lighting control system. It is designed optimally for stability. The specifications are that the input voltage is 90V-230V, the output power is 12V/2.5A. The stability analysis is established using PSM(Phase Sensitive Multimeter) in experiment. As a result, it is confirmed that the gain margin and the phase margin are in stable area. The validity of the experimental measurement is verified.

  • In practical applications, we frequently encounter the actuator nonlinearity in control systems, and its representative nonlinearity is saturation. A controller designed without considering this saturation nonlinearity is often a source of degradation of performance. To treat the saturation nonlinearity more efficiently, we adopt the multiplicative decomposition and the additive decomposition. Based on these decompositions, we present two controller design methods in the LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) form that guarantee the L2 gain, from the disturbance to the measured output, is less than or equal to a given value. Finally, we give two examples to show the applicability and usefulness of our results.

  • In this paper, the 2-level and 3-level types of PWM technique have been analyzed, and a multiprocessor has been designed as controller for these two types of PWM inverters. Designed multiprocessor employing a hierarchical structure of a SUPERVISORY PROCESSOR which interconnects three LOCAL PROCESSOR through a common memory technique has showed as elaborate digital control characteristic. Using this multiprocessor configuration the system could gain a great degree of freedom in change of software. Also software was simpler than a single processor configuration.

  • This paper describes the design of torsional oscillation controller in HVDC system using the universal SSR eigenvalue program. The suggested design procedures consist of three steps. Fist step is to identify the characteristics of AC system with torsional modes and HVDC system; then, to determine the control parameters of the suggested torsional oscillation controller (SSRStab) to compensate the phasor lagging due to rectifier controller. Finally, using time-domain simulation program verifies the designed parameters and determine the appropriate gain. The suggested method is simple to tune the parameters and effective to damp the least stable torsional oscillation mode.
