  • The Synchronous inductance in Synchronous Reluctance Motor is an element that is proportional to torque. the exact value must be found for controlling and the performance development of motors. In this paper, the inductances that are obtained by the Finite Element Method and AC standstill Test are compared each other. When controlling the direct torque. the fast response characteristics has been carried out with the inductace by the AC stanstill Test. To test the proposal controller, A Synchronous Reluctance Motor has been designed and manufactured and the adequacy of the proposal control are confirmed thought simulations and experiments.

  • This paper deals with the quench characteristic analysis in high-Tc superconducting synchronous motor of five to six hundred watts capacity. First, the magnetic field distribution and ac losses of high-Tc superconducting motor with the additive flux damper circuit was derived and computer simulation was performed with the equivalent model using FEM. The simulation results show that the quench state lasts for about 0.3 seconds.

  • The Synchronous reluctance motor is a sinewave ac motor and it has cylindrical surfaces on both sides of the air gap. The stator is a conventional polyphase ac stator, while the rotor has internal flux barriers shaped to maximize the ratio of d-axis to g-axis reactance. This paper presents the finite element analysis and parameter measurement of the synchronous reluctance motor(SRM). The model motor is a 3-phase SRM with the segmental rotor and its rating is 0.175kw. The torque characteristic is analysed by finite element method and compared with that from measurement.

  • The construction of a Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) is simple and also highly economical because a stator from the existing AC motor can be used. Since the synchronous inductance in the Synchronous Reluctance Motor is an element that is proportional to torque, its exact value must be experimentally or analytically found for accurate control and performance development of the motor. In this paper, direct torque control (DTC) simulation is carried out to maximize the torque of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor and the fast response characteristics with the inductance value by the Finite Element Method (FEM). The response characteristics are compared through the proposed direct torque control and torque response characteristics that are based on the existing PI Control in order to confirm the fast response features. To test the performance of the direct torque controller, the torque response is analyzed with variable speed and load condition.

  • The use of high-Tc superconducting synchronous motor in power machinery has many advantages such as reduced power dissipation, size and weight. This paper presents the ac loss simulation in the rotor having an high-Tc superconducting field winding using Ag sheathed Bi-2223. The analysis was conducted with an equivalent model of the high-Tc superconducting motor with flux damper under transition condition during which the load varies from 0 watt to 250watts and from 250watts to 500watts. The simulation results show that the transient state lasts for about 3 seconds, and the ac losses decreased exponentially from the initial value above 20mW.

  • This paper presents the development of a system with a reverse matrix converter (RMC) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive and its effective control method. The voltage transfer ratio of the general matrix converter is restricted to a maximum value of 0.866, which is not suitable for applications whose source voltages are lower than the load voltages. The proposed RMC topology can step up the voltage without any additional components in the conventional circuit. Its control method is different from traditional matrix converter’s one, thus this paper proposes control schemes of RMC by means of controlling both the generator and motor side currents with properly designed control loop. The converter can have sinusoidal input/output current waveforms in steady state condition as well as a boosted voltage.   • Reluctance torque is generated by the rotor of the rugged construction in Synchronous Reluctance Motor. Its construction is simple, and it is very economic because a rotor in existed AC motor can be used. As the Synchronous inductance in Synchronous Reluctance Motor is an element that is proportional to torque, the exact value must be experimentally or analytically found for controlling and the performance development of motors. In this paper, direct torque control simulation to maximize the torque of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor and fast response characteristics was carried out with the inductance value by the Finite Element Method. For the simulation results, there are torques and fluxs response characteristics when controlling speed.

  • This paper presents the sensorless drive method for mono inverter dual parallel (MIDP) surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drive system. MIDP motor drive system is a technique that can reduce the cost of the multi motor driving system. To maximize this merit of the MIDP motor drive system, the sensorless technique is essential to eliminate the position sensors. This paper adopts an appropriate sensorless method for MIDP SPMSM drive system, which uses the reduced order observer and phase locked loop (PLL) to reduce the calculation burden. The I-F control method is implemented for start-up and low speed operation. The validity and performance of the proposed algorithm are shown via experiments with 600-W SPMSMs.

다중여자 유도전동기의 안정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Stabilization of Multi-Excited Induction Motor)

  • This paper covers stability and stabilization of Multi-Excited Induction Motor used in numberous electric equipment system of industrial field. The induction motor with multi-excitation has tow sets of three-phase system : One is connected to the AC source to supply most power required at the load, and the other is to the inverter for variable frequency and/or magnitude of voltage. The conventional induction motor is operated under single excitation mode only, that is called induction mode. But in multi-excited induction motor both the induction mode and the synchronous mode are possible, and the proposed multi-excited induction motor can be driven as a synchronous motor by the extra three-phase input. At the synchronous mode the efficiency is improved so higher than that at induction mode or conventional induction motor. The rating of the inverter used for speed control of numberous electric equipment system can be reduced upto one-tenth of that for conventional induction motor. Also the cost and maintenance fee of multi-excited induction motor can be reduced compared to any other motor.

국산 AC 서보모터의 성능평가를 위한 연구 (Study for Performance Evaluations of the AC Servo Motor Made in Korea)

  • Items and methods of synchronous type AC servo motor's performance evaluation were researched. Through the research, nine items of performance evaluations were selected from study of IEC standards and domestic technical reports. Using the proposed evaluation items and methods, performance evaluations were carried out into two domestic products and one foreign product for analysis of what results means. The results show that the proposed items of performance evaluations are reasonable and proper for performance evaluations of AC servo motors.
