For the development of new material used bentonite in ceramic/organic material composite, ABS(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) material was used as a matrix polymer and a series of bentonite was blended together. This bentonite, filler like talc or mica for plastic material, was used since natural bentonite(Ca type) is easily obtainable in Korea, Na-bentonite changed from natural bentonite by $Na_2CO_3$ based on the specified compositions, changes in the static and dynamic mechanical properties. It was discovered that the increased content of natural and Na- bentonite results in higher modulus with reduced impact strength. And Rockwell hardness was constant. And Na- bentonite filled polymer showed improvement in impact strength and lower in modulus as the natural bentonite filled polymer. The storage modulus(E') of Na- bentonite filled ABS resin was higher than that of Ca- bentonite filled ABS resin, while higher temperature, storage modulus(E') decreased. At higher frequency, tan ${\delta}$ peak was shifted at high temperature.

Recently, additive manufacturing (AM) technology has been applied to various industries such as automotive, aviation, medical, and electronics. Most prior studies are limited to the mechanical properties of printed materials, and few studies are being conducted on their tribological characteristics. However, the friction and wear characteristics of the material should be studied in order to utilize the components manufactured using AM technology as mechanical parts. In this study, the friction and wear characteristics of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS)-like resin printed with stereo lithography apparatus (SLA) 3D printing are evaluated according to the viscosity of silicon oil lubricant using a ball-on-disk experiment. Lubricants with a viscosity of 500, 1000, and 2000 cSt are prepared for the experiment. If silicon oil lubricants are used during the ball-on-disk test, the coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rates are significantly reduced, and the higher the viscosity of the lubricant, the lower will be the COF and wear rates. It is also verified that the temperature of the specimen owing to friction also decreases according to the viscosity of the lubricant. This is because of the silicon oil film thickness, and the higher the viscosity of the lubricant, the thicker will be the oil film. More studies on the tribological characteristics of 3D printing materials and suitable lubricants will be required to use 3D printed parts as mechanical elements.
In this study, the recyclability of commonly used PP (polypropylene) and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) was evaluated by molding test specimens from mixture of virgin and shredded material, followed by measuring their strength properties, Experiments were conducted o two type of PP (transparent and non-transparent) and two types of ABS (white and yellow). Test specimens for each resin were prepared with shredded material ratios ranging from 10% to 50% in 10% increments. Changes in tensile strength, elastic modulus, and elastic limit were analyzed based on the mixing ratio of the shredded material. The experimental results demonstrated that the strength properties of all the resins remained consistent within a certain range, even with increasing proportions of shredded material. For transparent PP, the tensile strength ranged from 30.87± MPa, the elastic modulus from 1.23±0.04 GPa, and the elastic limit from 19.17±0.44%. Non-transparent PP exhibited a tensile strength ranging from 27.71±0.58 MPa, an elastic modulus from 1.03±0.06 GPa, and an elastic limit from 17.35±0.41%. For ABS, white ABS had a tensile strength of 39.42±0.28 MPa, an elastic modulus of 1.94±0.01 GPa, and an elastic limit of 36.76±0.25%. Yellow ABS showed a tensile strength of 39.25±0.78 MPa, an elastic modulus of 1.94±0.01 GPa, and an elastic limit of 37.14±0.23%, with values remaining consistent within this range. Based on these results, it was confirmed that the mechanical properties of the resins used in this study do not change significantly when mixed with recycled shredded material, indicating excellent mechanical recyclability.

1,3-butadiene is classified as suspected human carcinogen, group A2(American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, ACGIH). In Korea, 1,3-butadiene has been used as a raw material; monomer, homopolymer, polybutadiene latex, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS) and styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR), in the petrochemistry and precision chemistry industry. As petrochemistry industry in Korea has been developed, the potential exposure possibility of 1,3-butadiene to workers can be increased. Therefore the purpose of this study is to evaluate airborne 1,3-butadiene concentration and workers' exposure levels in the workplace using 1,3-butadiene. Air samples were collected with 4-tert-butyl catechol(TBC) charcoal tube(100 mg/50 mg) and were analyzed by gas chromatograph/flame ionization detector(GC/FID) according to the Choi's method(2002). Geometric mean (GM) and arithmetic mean (AM) of total 59 workers' exposure concentrations to airborne 1.3-butadiene were 0.042 ppm and 1.51 ppm, respectively. Although most samples were lower than 1ppm, 2 samples(21.5ppm and 33.1ppm as 8hr-TWA) were exceeded the Korean standard(2ppm) over 10 times at the repair process in synthetic rubber and resin manufacture industry. 14 samples(41%) of total 34 short-term air samples were exceeded the Korean standard(10ppm as STEL) of Ministry Labor. 1,3-butadiene concentration(GM) in the synthetic rubber and resin manufacture industry(7.87ppm) was significantly higher than that in the monomer manufacure industry (0.35ppm)(p<0.05). Also in the sampling and repair process, each GM(range) was 1.39ppm(N.D.-469.6ppm) and 7.85ppm(N.D.-410.2ppm). In conclusion, it depends on the industry and process, 1,3-butadiene can be exposed to workers as high concentration for short-term.

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are considered as one of ideal nano-fillers in the field of composites with their excellent electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. Therefore CNT composites are increasingly used in fabricating conductive materials, structural materials with high strength and low weight, and multifunctional materials. The main problem of the CNT composites is difficulty in the dispersion of CNT in the polymer matrix. In this study multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) were pretreated by the physical process utilizing a wrapping method. After the pretreatment polymer/MWNT nanocomposites were prepared by melt processing. The effect of functionalization MWNT by wrapping with styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) on the mechanical and electrical properties of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene resin (ABS)/MWNT composites was studied by comparing the properties of ABS mixed with the neat MWNT. Electrical and mechanical properties of ABS/MWNT nanocomposites were studied as a function of the functionalization and content of MWNT. The tensile strength of the ABS/MWNT nanocomposites increased, but the impact strength decreased. The polymer wrapping in ABS system has little effect on the improvement of electrical properties.
The purpose of our paper was to investigate the migration level of 4,4'-MDA(4,4'-methylenedianiline), 2,4-TDA(2,4-toluenediamine), aniline, acrylonitrile and methylmeth acrylate from plastic cookwares into food simulants and to evaluate the safety of each monomers. The test articles for monomers were PA (polyamide) items for 4,4'-MDA, 2,4-TDA and aniline, PU (polyurethane) items for 4,4'-MDA, ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene- styrene) items for acrylonitrile, and acrylic resin items for methylmethacrylate. All the article samples of 321 intended for contact with foods were purchased in domestic market. 4,4'-MDA, 2,4-TDA and aniline were analyzed by LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography -tandem mass spectrometer), acrylonitrile by GC-NPD (gas chromatography-nitrogen phos phorus detector) and methyl methacrylate by GC-FID (gas chromatography-flame ionization detector). The migration level of monomers were within the migration limits of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). As a result of safety evaluation, our results showed that the estimated daily intake (EDI, mg/kg bw/day)s were $2.39{\times}10^{-9}$ and $1.20{\times}10^{-9}$ for 4,4'-MDA and 2,4-TDA of PA, $4.32{\times}10^{-9}$ for acrylonitrile of ABS and $2.27{\times}10^{-7}$ for methylmethacrylate of acrylic resin. Reference Dose (RfD, mg/kg bw/day) of acrylonitrile and tolerable daily intake (TDI, mg/kg bw/day) of methacrylate were established respectively as 0.001 by EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) and as 1.2 by WHO (World Health Organization). When comparing with RfD and TDI, the EDIs of acrylonitrile and methylmethacrylate accounted for $4.32{\times}10^{-4}%$ and $1.89{\times}10^{-5}%$ respectively.

Recently, the electronic parts are to be thinner plate, smaller size, light weight material and CPU, HDD and DRAM in all the parts have been produced on the basis of the high speed and greater capacity. Also, conventional goods have replaced a LED (Light-Emitting Diode) in lighting products so; such industry devices need to have cooling. To maximize all the performance on the heat-radiated products, the area of heat-radiated parts is required to be cooled for keeping the life time extension and performance of product up. Existing cooling systems are using radiant heat plate of aluminum, brass by extrusion molding, heat pipe or hydro-cooling system for cooling. There is a limitation for bringing the light weight of product, cost reduction, molding of the cooling system. So it is proposed that an alternative way was made for bringing to the cooling system. EP (Engineering Plastic) of low-cost ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene Resin) and PC (Polycarbonate) was coated with brass and the coating made the radiated heat go up. The performance of radiant heat plate is the similar to the existing part. We have studied experimentally on the radiated heat plate for the light-weight, molding improvement and low-cost. From now on, we are going to develop the way to replace the exiting plate with exterior surface of product as a cooling system.

Impact resistance efficiency of the newly designed sandwich beam with a laterally arched core as bio-inspired by the woodpecker is numerically investigated. The principal components of the beam comprise a dual-core system sandwiched by the top and bottom laminated CFRP skins. Different materials, including hot melt adhesive, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), epoxy resin (EPON862), aluminum (Al6061), and mild carbon steel (AISI1018), are considered for the side-arched core layer of the beam for impact efficiency assessment. The aluminum honeycomb takes the role of the second core. Contact force, stress, damage formation, and impact energy for beams equipped with different materials are examined. A diversity in performance superiority is noticed in each of these indicators for different core materials. Therefore, for overall performance appraisal, the impact resistance efficiency index, which covers several chief impact performance parameters, of each sandwich beam is computed and compared. The impact resistance efficiency index of the structure equipped with the AISI1018 core is found to be the highest, about 3-10 times greater than other specimens, thus demonstrating its efficacy as the optimal material for the bio-inspired dual-core sandwich beam system.

A method for improving the warpage of the plastic part is a method of removing residual stress of the plastic product. that a non-uniform cooling are appeared in the injection molding process make uniform cooling. this study was developed the Rapid heating and cooling device used peltier module for uniform cooling. Make the Rapid heating and cooling device(RCHD), for Traditional water cooling device(TWCD) method and the Rapid heating and cooling method warpage were compared and were analyzed and the materials used amorphous ABS polymer. various warpage were compared for the process parameters such as packing pressure, packing time, resin temperature, mold temperature, In the amorphous ABS polymer, TWCD method has higher warpage than RCHD method and show the result to be a bit more uniform cooling. The distribution state of the ABS polymer was confirmed Through the Scanning electron microscope. In the TWCD method the distribution state of the polymer be densely distributed, and RCHS method be distributed wider than TWCD method. this is that injection molded parts be seen that cooling was made uniformly, As the temperature of the mold is gradually progress, Particles of the polymer is increased this is that internal stress was reduced.
