  • The number of output sequence was proposed as a characteristic of binary sequence generators for cryptographic application, but in general most of binary sequence generators have single number of output sequence. In this paper, we propose two types of binary sequence generators with a large number of output sequences. The first one is a Switched-Tap LFSR (STLFSR) and it applies to the generalized nonlinear function and the Geffe's generator as example. The other is a generalized memory sequence generator(GMEM-BSG) which is an improved version of the Golic's memory sequence generator (MEM-BSG) with a large number of output sequences, and its period, linear complexity, and the number of output sequence are derived.

  • Spliced leader (SL) trans-splicing is a mRNA processing mechanism in dinoflagellate nuclear genes. Although studies have identified a short, conserved dinoflagellate SL (dinoSL) sequence (22-nt) in their nuclear-encoded transcripts, whether the majority of nuclear-coded transcripts in dinoflagellates have the dinoSL sequence remains doubtful. In this study, we investigated dinoSL-containing gene transcripts using 454 pyrosequencing data (Cochlodinium polykrikoides, 93 K sequence reads, 31 Mb; Prorocentrum minimum, 773 K sequence reads, 291 Mb). After making comparisons and performing local BLAST searches, we identified dinoSL for one C. polykrikoides gene transcript and eight P. minimum gene transcripts. This showed transcripts containing the dinoSL sequence were markedly fewer in number than the total expressed sequence tag (EST) transcripts. In addition, we found no direct evidence to prove that most dinoflagellate nuclear-coded transcripts have this dinoSL sequence.

  • The shrinking generator which is one of clock-controlled generator is a very simple generator with good cryptographic properties. A nonlinear sequence generator based on two 90/150 maximum length cellular automata can generate pseudorandom sequences at each cell of cellular automata whose characteristic polynomials are same. The nonlinear sequence generated by cellular automata has a larger period and a higher linear complexity than shrunken sequence generated by LFSRs. In this paper we analyze shrunken-interleaved sequence based on 90/150 maximum length cellular automata. We show that the sequence generated by nonlinear sequence generator based on cellular automata belongs to the class of interleaved sequence. And we give an effective algorithm for reconstructing unknown bits of output sequence based on intercepted keystream bits.

  • A conventional sequence search algorithm for PRI analysis occurs the harmonic problem under missing pulses. An improved PRI analysis algorithm is proposedto remedy the harmonic problem. After dividing an overall PRI range into subbands withoug harmonic, a sequence search is done into forward and backward in time. The proposed algorithm increases the preformance compared with that of conventional sequence search algorithm.

  • In this paper we introduce a new concept for Riesz almost lacunary ${\chi}^3$ sequence spaces strong P - convergent to zero with respect to an Orlicz function and examine some properties of the resulting sequence spaces. We introduce and study statistical convergence of Riesz almost lacunary ${\chi}^3$ sequence spaces and some inclusion theorems are discussed.

  • In this paper a sequence estimator of CDMA communication system is suggested. A sequence estimator uses Galois Field operation. A sequence estimator can provide another CDMA pilot signal which is un-modulated spreaded signal. A estimated sequence signal and received signal have no correlation. Tow signals can be summed using MRC(maximal ratio combine) method. The stronger signal can be added as a larger ratio, but the weaker signal can be added as a smaller ratio. We can distinguish strong signal using SNR estimator. Therefore it is possible to receive an additional pilot signal, and to support more reliable communications by using sequence estimator.

  • We present a new galaxy classification scheme in the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) [$3.4{\mu}m$]-[$12{\mu}m$] color versus $12{\mu}m$ luminosity diagram. In this diagram, galaxies can be classified into three groups in different evolutionary stages. Late-type galaxies are distributed linearly along "MIR star-forming sequence" identified by Hwang et al. (2012). Some early-type galaxies show another sequence at [3.4]-[12] $(AB){\simeq}-2.0$, and we call this 'MIR blue sequence'. They are quiescent systems with old stellar population older than 10 Gyr. Between the MIR star-forming sequence and the MIR blue sequence, some early- and late-type galaxies are sparsely distributed, and we call these galaxies 'MIR green cloud galaxies'. Interestingly, both MIR blue sequence galaxies and MIR green cloud ones lie on the red sequence in the optical color-magnitude diagram. However, MIR green cloud galaxies have lower stellar masses and younger stellar populations (smaller $D_n4000$) than MIR blue sequence galaxies, suggesting that MIR green cloud galaxies are in the transition stage from MIR star-forming sequence galaxies to MIR blue sequence ones. We present differences in various galaxy properties between the three MIR classes using a multi-wavelength data, combined with the WISE and Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10, of local (0.03 < z < 0.07) galaxies.

  • The overproduction and high level secretion of Glucose Oxidase (GOD) from A. niger in S. cerevisiae was carried out by cloning GOD gene. For this purpose, using two different strong promoters (ADH1 promoter, GAL10 promoter) and signal sequences (${alpha}$-MF signal sequence of S. cerevisiae and ${alpha}$-amylase signal sequence of A. oryzae) and GAL7- and GOD terminator, four expression vectors were constructed. All the expression vectors were transformed in S. cerevisiae 2805 using auxotroph method. By the flask culture, transformants of pGAL expression vector series containing GAL 10 promotor showed much higher GOD productivity than transformants of pADH expression vector series containing ADH1 promoter Transformants of pGALGO2 containing GAL10 promotor and ${alpha}$-amylase signal sequence has shown the best productivity of GOD ($GOD_{total}$: 10.3 unit/mL, $GOD_{ex}$: 8.7 unit/mL) at 115 hr. This value was three fold higher than that of pGALGO1 containing GAL 10 promotor and ${alpha}$-MF signal sequence, even if the same promotor was involved. Through the ${alpha}$-amylase signal sequence of A. oryzae, GOD was secreted much more than the case of ${alpha}$-MF signal sequence from S. cerevisiae. These results suggest that signal sequence may play a important roles in not only the secretion but also the overproduction of foreign protein. Secretion rate of GOD in pGALGO1 and pGALGO2 was 89% and 84%, respectively, Because of the overglycosylation in S. cerevisiae the molecular weight of recombinant GOD in S. cerevisiae was much larger (250 kDa) than that of nature GOD in A. niger (170 kDa).

  • A reliable fault phase selection algorithm plays a very important role in transmission line protection, Particularly in Extra High Voltage (EHV) networks. The conventional fault phase selection algorithm used the phase difference between positive and negative sequence current excluding load current. But, it is difficult to pick out only fault current since we can not know when a fault occurs and select the fault phase in weak-infeed conditions that dominate zero-sequence current in phase current. The proposed algorithm can select the accurately fault phase using the sum of unit vectors which are calculated by positive-sequence voltage and negative-sequence voltage.
