  • It has been a common practice to use manually processed soil maps in planning of land readjustment. This study is intended to develop a geographic information system for computerized processing of soil maps. The pilot region of land readjustment for this study was set at a mountain area with diverse formation of soil. Cadastral maps were employed for the basis map, and the main map was prepared using the information obtained from in-situ soil survey and laboratory tests. The detailed soil maps were drawn using the geographic information system, and analyzed and compared with manually processed maps. The soil maps, in conjunction with a computer program of land readjustment design, can be applied in estimation of soil works appropriate for the given soil condition, and also in selecting the efficient construction equipments.

  • There are currently more than tens of thematic maps in Korea. Among them, there are some thematic maps which are used by one organization only by which was made, and there are common thematic maps which are used by several organizations. In this study, among many kinds of common thematic maps which are currently used, the common thematic maps which will be digitized for parts of NGIS project were chosen and the priority of project was established. After selecting five maps from the common thematic maps classified as the first ranking, current land use map, parcel-address map, administrative boundary map, urban planning map and road map, the area of CheJoo Island was digitized as a pilot project. Through the pilot project of CheJoo Island, the level of application was verified, and the method was presented in order to reduce the trial and error in the process of this production after analyzing the matter from the pilot project. The direction for digitizing common thematic maps was presented based on the result of the pilot project, in addition to, the detail plan was established after deciding the number of people needed, the amount of money spent, and the period needed for making digital maps nationwide.

  • Next Generation Digital Maps on demand Updating System is a system for setup of efficient on-demand updating system, keeping up-to-date data and conducting high-quality service and efficient management. The system is designed that object-based continuous Digital Maps may have on-demand updating available, as well as the exiting feature-based digital maps, and the relevant development is being done. This study presented some problems and improvement plans related to the system operation, by means of implementing object-based continuous Digital Maps and feature-based digital maps updating test, for the next generation digital maps on demand updating system, in order to contribute to present plans to apply next generation digital maps and to secure competitiveness. And, for the economical efficiency of the next generation digital maps on demand updating system, this study analyzed expenses and benefit resulted from introduction of on demand updating system for 1:5,000 digital maps, intended for National Geographic Information Institute. and the land category which have an effect on the officially assessed land price and it using GIS technology.

  • As a generalizaton of the concepts of fuzzy strongly semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly semicontinuous maps, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy strongly r-semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous maps in fuzzy topology. Also we introduce fuzzy r-semicontinuous and fuzzy r-semiclosure. By these concept, we characterize fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous, fuzzy strongly r-semiopen and fuzzy strongly r-semiclosed maps.

  • In this paper, $\tilde{2}$-essential rooted maps on the Klein bottle are counted and an explicit expression with the size as a parameter is given. Further, the numbers of singular maps and the maps with one vertex on the Klein bottle are derived.

  • In this study, it was tried to experimentally judge the positional accuracy of digital maps, which are being constructed with a vast of investment and national endeavor. Using GPS and Total Station, field surveying to assess the positional accuracy of 1:5,000 digital maps was conducted. According to these results, the digital maps were compared to the real field test. And in order to check the positional accuracy standard of digital maps, theoretical positional accuracy of 1:5,000 digital maps are compared with that from field test data to propose research activities for hereafter positional accuracy standard of digital map.
