Information security has been a major concern in organizations. The longstanding question of how to improve employees security behaviors and reduce human errors remains unanswered and requires further exploration in the information security domain. To do this, we propose a risk compensation theory-based model and examine the model. Research results shows that the relationships between information security countermeasures and information security compliance intention of employees are moderated by system vulnerability. However, the finding is contrary to the previously held risk compensation assumption and deserve further study. In addition, system quality does not play a moderator role in the relationship. Conclusions and implications are discussed.

In this study, numerical and experimental studies on the nozzle flow in a sub-scale cold flow test were conducted to simulate high altitude condition. In the theoretical calculation, the temperature of the nozzle outlet is calculated to be lower than the liquefaction point, and the fluid exists at the phase change point. Also, numerical analysis result is higher than theory calculation but lower than liquefaction temperature. As a result of cold flow test, it was confirmed that the temperature was much higher than theory and analysis. This is because it assumed that it is adiabatic in the theoretical calculation, but the experiment in the actual environment is not the adiabatic but the heat exchange with the outside exists.

The flight trajectory of a boomerang is predicted with the momentum theory (actuating disk theory) and the blade element method generally used as tools to analyze in the rotary-wing aerodynamics. Boomerangs made by students are actually compared with the computational results, utilized to get the physical intuition. The transition from helicopter mode to autogyro mode with the gyroscopic precession is observed in numerical analysis and experiment like a 'flying rotor' after the boomerang taking off. The whole system is shown to be highly nonlinear and very sensitive to the initial conditions. Various flight loci may be obtained if we change the parameters.
This paper introduces and analyzes the theoretical basis and method of the conventional initial-value assignment problem and feasibility of image segmentation. The paper presents topological evidence and a method of appropriate initial-value assignment based on topology theory. Subsequently, the paper shows minimum conditions for feasibility of image segmentation based on separation axiom theory of topology and a validation method of effectiveness for image modeling. As a summary, this paper shows image segmentation with its mathematical validity based on topological analysis rather than statistical analysis. Finally, the paper applies the theory and methods to conventional Gaussian random field model and examines effectiveness of GRF modeling.

Item response theory provides a fixed results about students, regardless of the item difficulty and discrimina-tion and it is also a kind of item analysis methods which provides the same proper competence scores to students in spite of them taking different test repeatedly. In this paper, we researched item difficulty and item discrimina-tion and analyzed items in the national academic aptitude test which were given from 2000 to 2009 in the past 10 years through item response theory, especially, in connection with given items about statistical unit. As a result, we found that about 60 percents of the items were too difficult for high school students to solve, however, item discrimination proved to be great.

In this study, we investigated the possibility of using science laboratory reports in identifying students' ideas about discrepant events. A specially designed science laboratory report was developed in this study, and used to collect the information about students' responses toward discrepant events. A total of 839 laboratory reports on the solubility of gas, combustion, and the electrical conductivity of a solution were analyzed. Students' responses in the laboratory reports were classified into eight types; rejection, reinterpretation, exclusion, uncertainty, peripheral theory change, theory change, maintenance of scientific conception, and regressive theory change. In addition, reinterpretation and theory change were further classified into several subcategories. The characteristics of students' responses in this study were discussed in comparison with those of previous studies.

To clarify the surface drift velocity in gravity waves. experimental data measured in a two-dimensional wave flume were compared with theoretical values predicted by the Stokes 2nd- and 5th- order theories as well as by the conduction solution or Longuet-Hinggins (1953). Relative water depth and wave height ranged 0.040.13. For a closed flume condition, Stokes 2nd-order theory gives lower values than the experimental data, and the differences increase as both relative water depth and wave height increase. Based on the observed data of the surface drift velocities, a modified Parabolic model of the return current velocity Profile has been suggested, which is Proved to fit better to the existing experimental data of mass transport velocity profiles in a closed wave flume than the models of Longuet-Hinggins (1953) and Stokes wave theories do.

This was a qualitative study to explore and better understand the adaptation experience and processes of peoples with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), as well as to develop a substantive theory using the grounded theory method. There were 13 patients (12 females and 1 male) who received FMS treatment from Rheumatic Medicine outpatient department of one general hospital. The data were collected through an in-depth interview between January and May of 2014. Transcribed interview contents were analyzed by the grounded theory method of Corbin and Strauss (2008). As a result, a total of 98 concepts, 26 sub-categories, and 10 categories were identified through the open coding process. The process of adaptation experience showed 4 steps: perception of uncertainty and limited condition, evaluation of self-control possibility and determinations of expectations of life, searching and trying of strategies, as well as self-regulation. The 4 types of adaptation experience were expansionary, complacently, effusively and withering. The 'protective self-regulation' theory was derived from the core category of 'learning to self-regulation method'. Patients with FMS has repeatedly attempted these strategies of protective self-regulation in order to gain stability from uncertainty and limited condition of the disease. Based on these results, it is necessary to develop an educational program for patients and families which has appropriate nursing intervention strategies in accordance with the types of adaptation.
In this paper we have reviewed major theories of international migration by three phases of migration : initiation, perpetuation, and adjustment. Through the review it is found that factors affecting the three phases are not mutually exclusive but interrelated, and argued that for a comprehensive understanding of the phenomena we need a theoretical guideline useful to locate all the important factors associated to the entire process of migration. Neoclassical economic theory which has played a leading role in migration research. fails to be such a guideline. since it is grounded on the unrealistic assumption of rationality and does not take into account for historical-structural factors, as neo-Marxian theorists have claimed. Two major Marxian theories, dual labor market theory and world system theory, have been successful to identify macro-structural factors that induce main flows of international migration, but do not so in exploring situational factors affecting the process of migration, especially social and cultural factors. Accordingly this study proposes that in order to grasp international migration process comprehensively we need to research the phenomena in view of action system theory, that is, to study migrants\` economic, political, social, and cultural situations inclusively.

No analytical solution exists for evaluating in-situ hydraulic conductivity of vertical cutoff walls by analyzing slug test results with consideration of transient flow. There is an analytical solution proposed to interpret a slug test performed in a partially penetrated well within an aquifer. However, this analytical solution cannot be directly applied to the cutoff wall because the solution has been developed exclusively for an infinite aquifer instead of a narrow cutoff wall. To consider the cutoff wall boundary conditions (i.e, constant head boundary and no flux boundary condition), the analytical solution has been modified in this study to take into account the narrow boundaries by introducing the imaginary well theory. Type curves are constructed from the currently derived analytical solution and compared with those of a partially penetrated well within an aquifer. The constant head boundary condition provides faster hydraulic head recovery curve than the aquifer case. On the other hand, no flux boundary condition leads to slower hydraulic head recovery. The bigger the shape factor and deviation of the well and the smaller the width of the vertical cutoff wall are, the more effect of boundary condition was observed. The type curves obtained from the analytical solution for a cutoff wall are similar to those made by the numerical method in the literature.
