  • This paper presents the new two denoising methods using wavelet. One is new spatially selective noise filtration(NSSNF) using spatial correlation and the other is undecimated discrete wavelet transform (UDWT) threshold-based. NSSNF got the flexible gain special property of SNR adding new parameter at the existing SSNF and UDWT had superior denosing effect than orthogonal wavelet transform(OWT) applied soft-threshold by applied hard-threshold. We selected additive white gaussian noise(AWGN) in this test environment. Also we analyzed and compared ousting denoising method using SNR as standard of judgement of improvemental effect.

  • This paper presents a new locomotion mode recognition method based on a transformed correlation feature analysis using an electromyography (EMG) pattern. Each movement is recognized using six weighted subcorrelation filters, which are applied to the correlation feature analysis through the use of six time-domain features. The proposed method has a high recognition rate because it reflects the importance of the different features according to the movements and thereby enables one to recognize real-time EMG patterns, owing to the rapid execution of the correlation feature analysis. The experiment results show that the discriminating power of the proposed method is 85.89% (${\pm}2.5$) when walking on a level surface, 96.47% (${\pm}0.9$) when going up stairs, and 96.37% (${\pm}1.3$) when going down stairs for given normal movement data. This makes its accuracy and stability better than that found for the principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis methods.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to quantify alveolar bone morphology, demonstrate the relationship between tooth angulation and alveolar bone thickness, and introduce a new classification for anterior mandibular teeth related to immediate implant placement (IIP). Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of 211 anterior mandibular teeth were analyzed in sagittal slices to measure the thickness of the facial alveolar bone crest (FAB1) and apex (FAB2), and the lingual alveolar bone crest (LAB1) and apex (LAB2). Tooth angulation was classified as 1°-10°, 11°-20°, and >20° according to the tooth's long axis and alveolar bone wall. Spearman correlation coefficients were used to evaluate correlations between the variables. Results: FAB1 and LAB1 were predominantly thin (<1 mm) (84.4% and 73.4%, respectively), with the lateral incisors being thinnest. At the apical level, FAB2 and LAB2 were thick in 99.5% and 99.1% of cases, respectively. Significant differences were documented in FAB2 (P=0.004), LAB1 (P=0.001), and LAB2 (P=0.001) of all mandibular teeth. At all apical levels of the inspected teeth, a significant negative correlation existed between TA and FAB2. Meanwhile, TA showed a significant positive correlation with LAB2 of the lateral incisors and canines. These patterns were then divided into class I (thick facial and lingual alveolar bone), class II (facially inclined teeth) with subtype A (1°-10°) and subtype B (11°-20°), and class III (lingually inclined teeth) with subtype A (1°-10°) and subtype B (11°-20°). Conclusions: Mandibular anterior teeth have predominantly thin facial and lingual crests, making the lingual bone apical thickness crucial for IIP. Although anchorage can be obtained from lingual bone, tooth angulation and tooth types had an impact on IIP planning. Hence, the new classification based on TA and alveolar bone wall may enable rational clinical planning for IIP treatment.

  • A new method for grouping of relevant and equivalent inputs of a logical circuit was proposed by the authors by making use of pseudorandom M-sequence correlation. The authors show in this paper that it is possible to estimate the input grouping from a part of correlation functions when we admit small percentage of error, whereas it is impossible to reduce the data necessary to estimate the grouping by use of the truth table method. For example in case of 30-input logic circuit, the number of correlation functions necessary to calculate can be reducible from 1.07 * 10$^{9}$ to 465.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between a functional evaluation model and the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) scale in evaluating the upper extremities of stroke patients Methods: Thirty-eight stroke patients were evaluated using the FMA and performed reaching and grasping motions using a three-dimensional motion analysis (Qquas 1 series, Qualisys AB, Sweden). The participants sat on a chair with a backrest. The position of the cup was located at a distance of 80% to the front arm length. The markers were attached to the sternum, acromion, elbow lateral epicondyle, ulnar styloid process, three metacarpal heads, and the distal phalanges of the thumb and index finger. The variables of the correlation between the functional evaluation model and the FMA scale were analyzed. Multiple regression (stepwise) was used to investigate the effect of the kinematic variables. Results: A significant negative correlation was found between the movement time (p < 0.05), movement unit (p < 0.05), and trunk displacement values (p < 0.05) in the FMA total scores, while a positive correlation was found between the peak velocity (p < 0.05) and maximum grip aperture values (p < 0.05). As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the most significant factor was the movement unit, followed by the general movement assessment and trunk displacement. The explained FMA total score value was 62%. Conclusion: This study presents a new functional evaluation model for assessing the reaching and grasping ability of stroke patients. The factors of the proposed functional evaluation model showed significant correlations with the FMA scale scores and confirmed that the new functional evaluation model explained the FMA by 67%. This suggests a new functional evaluation model for reaching and grasping stroke patients.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the effects of self-resilience and social support on reality shock among new graduate nurses. Methods: The data was collected using self-reported questionnaires from a convenience sample of 111 new graduate nurses. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistical, independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression via the SPSS Window 23.0 program. Results: Among general and work related characteristics, factors that have shown significant differences on reality shock were gender (t=-2.29, p=.024), work unit (t=3.31, p=.023) and whether they are working at unit they desired (t=-5.08, p<.001). Reality shock has shown a negative correlation with self-resilience (r=-.51, p<.001) and social support (r=-.41, p<.001). Factors that affected the reality shock on new graduate nurses were self-resilience (${\beta}=-.43$, p<.001), whether they are working at unit they desired (${\beta}=.35$, p<.001) and their currently work unit (${\beta}=-.17$, p=.028). These factors take into account of 38.0% of overall reality shock. Conclusion: The results suggest that self-resilience, desired unit and current work unit should be considered as factors when developing an intervention to alleviate the reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses.

  • Shingled module shows high ratio active area per total area due to more efficient packing without inactive space between cells. The module is fabricated by connecting the pre-cut cells into the string using electrically conductive adhesives (ECA). ECAs are used for electric and structural connections to fabricate the shingled modules. In this work, we investigated a correlation between ECA peel strength and the efficiency of pre-cut 5 cells module which are fabricated according to ECA interconnection conditions. The curing conditions are varied to determine whether ECA interconnection properties can affect module properties. As a result of the peel test, the highest peel strength was 1.27 N/mm in the condition of 170℃, the lowest peel strength was 0.89 N/mm in the condition of 130℃. The efficiency was almost constant regardless of the curing conditions at an average of 20%. However, the standard deviation of the fill factor increased as the adhesive strength decreased.

  • In this paper we suggest a new two-wheelers detection algorithm using local cell features. The first, we propose new feature vector matrix extraction algorithm using the correlation two cells based on local cell histogram and shifting from the result of histogram of oriented gradients(HOG). The second, we applied new weighting values which are calculated by the modified histogram intersection showing the similarity of two cells. This paper applied the Adaboost algorithm to make a strong classification from weak classification. In this experiment, we can get the result that the detection rate of the proposed method is higher than that of the traditional method.

  • A few correlation equations of the saturated liquid density are reviewed and a new equation is proposed. Performance of each equation is examined using the data listed in the ASHRAE table for 22 pure substance refrigerants. The new four-parameter equation yields an average absolute deviation of 0.03% for 22 refrigerants. Performance of the new four-parameter equation is found to be equivalent to those of the existing equations such as Hou-Martin equation(0.03%) and Iglesias-Silva-Hall equation(0.08%).
