The human coagulation factor XI (FXI) is a serine protease that plays a significant role in blocking of the blood coagulation cascade as an attractive antithrombotic target. Selective inhibition of FXIa (an activated form of factor XI) disrupts the intrinsic coagulation pathway without affecting the extrinsic pathway or other coagulation factors such as FXa, FIIa, FVIIa. Furthermore, targeting the FXIa might significantly reduce the bleeding side effects and improve the safety index. This paper reports on a docking-based three dimensional quantitative structure activity relationship (3D-QSAR) study of the potent FXIa inhibitors, the chloro-phenyl tetrazole scaffold series, using comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity analysis (CoMSIA) methods. Due to the characterization of FXIa binding site, we classified the alignment of the known FXIa inhibitors into two groups according to the docked pose: S1-S2-S4 and S1-S1'-S2'. Consequently, highly predictive 3D-QSAR models of our result will provide insight for designing new potent FXIa inhibitors.
Many other human species appeared in evolution in the last 6 million years that have not been able to survive to modern times and are broadly known as archaic humans, as opposed to the extant modern humans. It has always been considered fascinating to compare the modern human genome with that of archaic humans to identify modern human-specific sequence variants and figure out those that made modern humans different from their predecessors or cousin species. Neanderthals are the latest humans to become extinct, and many factors made them the best representatives of archaic humans. Even though a number of comparisons have been made sporadically between Neanderthals and modern humans, mostly following a candidate gene approach, the major breakthrough took place with the sequencing of the Neanderthal genome. The initial genome-wide comparison, based on the first draft of the Neanderthal genome, has generated some interesting inferences regarding variations in functional elements that are not shared by the two species and the debated admixture question. However, there are certain other genetic elements that were not included or included at a smaller scale in those studies, and they should be compared comprehensively to better understand the molecular make-up of modern humans and their phenotypic characteristics. Besides briefly discussing the important outcomes of the comparative analyses made so far between modern humans and Neanderthals, we propose that future comparative studies may include retrotransposons, pseudogenes, and conserved non-coding regions, all of which might have played significant roles during the evolution of modern humans.
This study is to develop the well-fit clean room smocks by wearing test of 2 available clean room smocks and a revised smock. 20 female subjects individually participated in the wearing test. The test procedure consisted of a rating on fit and adaptability and comparative test according to clean room smock types. The summaries of results are as follows : 1. The results of fit and adaptability rating on different clean room smocks showed that the revised type proved the most effective from a viewpoint of fitness and adaptability, 2. As far as the result of comparative test are concerned, most of the subject assessed the revised type is the most comfortable. As for freedom of movement, it is disclosed that the subjects prefer the revised type too.
A gas chromatographic oil fingerprinting method is a technique used for comparative source identification of spilled oil. The hydrocarbon and sulfur compound analysis by gas chromatography are generally used for analyzing oils. However, due to the complexity of oils, another technique is also needed for comparative identification. In this study, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons contained in crude oil and heavy fuel oil are analyzed by gas chromatography. They are relatively unaffected by weathering condition because they are stable. The oil fingerprinting of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by GC seems to be a reliable technique for analyzing oils in identification of sources and kinds of oils.

In this paper, we investigated the list sphere decoders (LSD) for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. We showed that the ordering procedures play an important role in LSD in order to achieve the low complexity without degrading the bit-error-rate (BER) performance. Then, we proposed a novel ordering algorithm for the LSD which uses a look-up table and simply comparative operations. Comparative results in terms of BER performance and computational complexity are provided through computer simulations.

In industry, there are several different controllers which can be implemented for power conditioning systems (PCS) such as proportional-resonant (PR), predictive deadbeat (PD), or proportional-integral (PI) controller. But there are not any comparison studies about these controllers. To investigate the differences between the three types of the controllers, this paper presents a comparative study of PR, PI, and PD controllers in a photovoltaic (PV) PCS. These controllers are designed mathematically and simulated for the comparative analysis. The PI controller is designed in the rotating reference (dq) frame. The PR and PD controllers are implemented in the natural (abc) reference frame. The PCS is composed of a DC-DC boost converter and a full bridge inverter. The filter of the PCS is an LCL filter including a passive damping resistor. The parameters of PCS are 3 kW, 25 kHz switching frequency and 220 V-60 Hz grid voltage. The comparison results between these controllers for the grid-connected PCS are clearly shown. The simulation results demonstrate the detailed characteristics of each controller for the PV PCS in order to choose the controller for individual target properly.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is for the leading sector, a pattern of shifting structure of the economic sector, and community export competitiveness on the economy Malinau Regency. Research design, data, and methodology: The type of data used is secondary data with a quantitative approach of 2009-2018. The study data used Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share Analysis (SSA), and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis tools. Results: There are 6 leading sectors: agriculture; electricity, gas, and clean water; building and construction; trade, hotels, and restaurants. That has been classified has changed the economic structure of the Malinau Regency from the secondary sector to the tertiary and primary sectors in 10 years. While, community export competitiveness of the Malinau Regency through RCA Analysis, see if the export products of coal and excavation (types A, B, C) are shown to have a higher comparative advantage with comparative advantage. This shows that only a few commodities that can provide the good performance of export. Conclusions: Analysis of economic growth in the Malinau Regency after regional autonomy shows that there has been a shift in the economic structure of the economy which is dominated by the structure of the primary sector.
In his discussion of some desirable tuning points in comparative literary studies, Henry H. H. Remark has emphasized the importance of literary approach to other forms of art. Understanding the significance of such a method of comparative literature, the present study focusses on three contemporary Korean poets who have transferred Mark Chagall′s paintings into their poetry: Youngtae Kim, Chunsoo Kim, and Sunghun Lee. They are usually evaluated as surrealist/modernist in our literary circles. In transforming Chagall′s paintings into his poems, Youngtae Kim has incorporated a variety of surrealist mosaic techniques such as montage and collage. The resultant peculiarity of his poetry makes it hard to lay bare the correspondence or similarities between his poetic world and the world of Chagall′s artistry. It is nonetheless possible to see how Kim, as a poet and painter, had interpreted Chagall′s world with a bird′s-eye view of it. Chunsoo Kim′s "Snow Falling on the Village of Chagall" relates specially to one of Chagall′s paintings, "I and My Village." The present study has taken notice of this correlation in sorting out some basic elements of poetic transfiguration. One of the techniques employed in the poem under discussion is that of juxtaposing the Russian village of Chagall and the Korean village the poet visualizes, with the effect of putting two national traditions in contrast. A reading of the poem reveals that it is not so much the result of a detailed analysis of the painting as a revival of its lingering impression as a whole. In Sunghun Lee′s poetry, surrealist techniques are again a hallmark. But his method of transferring the images of the paintings into his poems falls somewhere between those of Youngtae Kim′s and Chunsoo Kim′s: it is akin to the ′bird′s-eye method′ of the former and shares the impressionistic touch with the latter, but at the same time Lee is analytical by disposition and opts for concrete descriptions. ′Love,′ ′farm,′ and ′time′ are the keywords that are brought under discussion in the present study. There is a growing demand in the current international comparative literary studies for broadening the area of comparative literature. This study hopes to be a small contribution to endorsing the importance of comparative approach to fine arts.
This study had a aim to present a detailed investigation of the difference between the preoccupied and occupied space in the apartment house. In this connection, this study was to analyse the space configuration of the residential space with and without furniture for 3LDK plan in the apartment housing by the comparative method. The space configuration analysis which represents results a numeral and graphical ways is based on the relation between the space and the social changes. The results of this study were as follows; There were a various width of change of the integration value which represented the space configure between the residential space with and without furniture according to the sample plans. It means that the residential space redefine by residence, though the architect design the perfect plan to be considered user.
