The English education policy of Korea has focused on cultivating communicative competence in Korean students. Especially the 6th national curriculum adopted a notional-functional syllabus instead of a grammatical-structural syllabus. The syllabus design of the 7th curriculum is different from that of the 6th curriculum in that the 6th curriculum adopted just one syllabus design-the Notional-Functional syllabus, but the 7th curriculum includes various syllabus types. The present study has two purposes. The first purpose is to historically survey syllabus design development in Korea : grammatical-structural syllabus(the 1st-5th curriculum), notional-functional syllabus(the 6th curriculum) and a new syllabus model(the 7th curriculum). The second purpose is to analyze the syllabus design of the 7th national curriculum according to the following criteria : a) communicative functional categories, b) sample sentences. The data was collected by analyzing the 7th grade English textbooks adopted on the basis of the 7th national curriculum.

National curriculum is very important for the future of nation. So, continuous efforts are needed to improve the national curriculum. This study examined the issues and the problems related with the 7th optional mathematics curriculum, and gave the message about th: methods of implementation. For this, we analyzed the result of the questionnaire survey which consisted in the question about the 7th optional mathematics curriculum. 264 high school mathematics teachers are participated in this survey. We found the result that the 7th optional mathematics curriculum has the problem in contents and management. So, this study gave not only the problem but also the various concrete methods for management of the 7th optional mathematics curriculum. We hope that mathematics education members research and argue about the optional mathematics curriculum for next curriculum.

우리나라 초${\cdot}$중${\cdot}$고등학교 확률 및 통계영역 교육은 1997년 교육 인적 자원부 고시로 제 7차 수학과 교육과정이 개정되어 현재 초${\cdot}$중${\cdot}$고등학교 현장에서 시행되고 있다. 교과서 전수 조사를 통하여 제 7차 수학과 교육과정에 따른 실용수학 및 수학 I 확률 및 통계단원을 분석하였고 제 6차 수학과 교육과정과 비교, 검토하였다.

본고는 제6차, 제7차 및 2007 개정 교육과정의 중등 수학 교과서 180권에 나타난 공학 도구의 활용 현황을 내용 영역, 활용된 공학 도구 종류, 활용 방식의 관점에서 분석하고 시사점을 찾고자 한 것이다. 분석 결과 제6차 교과서에서는 주로 대수 및 해석 영역에서 계산기나 프로그래밍 언어와 같은 간단한 공학 도구의 기능 소개 및 보조 도구형태로 활용되었고, 그 빈도수가 작았음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 제7차와 2007 개정 교육과정에 들어오면서 대수, 해석, 기하 및 통계 내용 영역에서 비교적 고르게 다양한 공학 도구가 사용되었음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 제7차에서는 인터넷의 활용이 두드러지게 증가하였다가 2007 개정 교과서에서는 많지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 제6차에서는 의도된 탐구 유형의 활용 장면이 거의 없었지만, 제7차 및 2007 개정 교과서에서는 그와 같은 활용 장면이 증가하고 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 학생중심의 탐구 학습 유형의 활용 장면은 매우 적어 앞으로 늘릴 필요가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

학습자의 수준 고려, 학습자에 교과선택권 부여. 학교의 재량활동범위 확대 등으로 그 특징을 요약되는 제 7차 수준별 교육과정이 2003 학년도부터 고등학교 수학과의 선택중심교육과정이 적용되면서 교육과정의 취지와 다른 양상이 드러나고 있다. 본 고에서는 제 7차 수학과 교육과정의 성격과 특징, 교육과정 적용을 고등학교 선택중심 교육과정을 중심으로 예상된 문제점과 새롭게 드러난 국면을 살펴보고 그 원인을 2005 학년도 대학입학 제도와 관련시켜 분석한다. 특히 고등학교 선택중심 교육과정의 구성과 선택교과의 특성, 2003 학년도부터 적용되는 선택교과의 적용 실태, 2005학년도 수학능력시험 수리영역과 대학 입학전형정책이 제 7차 고등학교 수학과 교육과정의 적용에 미치는 영향을 논의하고, 현 상황에서 제 7차 교육과정의 효율적인 적용을 위하여 수능체제, 대학입시정책, 연수 등에 관한 실질적인 제안을 제시한다.

This study looked into the procedures of and the status on the implementation of the new 7th national curriculum at the elementary school level, especially focused on the subjects of schools and the teachers for the actual curriculum implementation. More specifically the study examined, 1) the degree to which the particular innovation(i.e., student-centered, flexible and autonomous school-based curriculum, etc.) is be-ing implemented as planned; and 2) how it is being implemented. It conducted a situation-oriented analysis in cooperation with three local boards of education. Classroom observations, teacher interviews, questionnaires for teachers and supervisors were utilized and the three major criteria of interpreting the result were the three core concepts of the 7th national curriculum, that is, the degree of "(1)reorganization, (2)student-centeredness, and (3)diversification/specialization" of the curriculum. Detailed documentation on the processes of the local bureaus of education and on the classroom practices are made in order to provide schools and policy makers with relevant and practical suggestions for further improvement of curriculum implementation.

The purposes of this study were to classify the objectives in elementary science for the 2007 revised national curriculum in accordance with Bloom's Revised Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, and to compare the classified data of 2007 revised curriculum with 7th national curriculum from a view of creative objectives. For the purpose, the frame and manuel was developed to classify the objectives. In this study, elementary science instructional objectives of third- to forth-grade level were classified through the frame. The finding of this study revealed that the objectives, stated in elementary science for the 2007 revised national curriculum, are biased to the 'conceptional knowledge', 'factual knowledge' and the 'understand' cognitive process dimension. And the remaining dimension of the Bloom's revised taxonomy is very scanty. Comparing with 7th national curriculum, the 2007 revised national curriculum's objectives system has not conspicuous improvement in creativity area. It was suggested to improve present objectives system, because of give learners more experience to opportunity about creativity.

A partial amendment of probability and statistics education in Korea has carried out from January, 2007. We have compared between the patial amendment and 7th national mathematics curriculum. Some ideas are proposed to achieve goals of the revision; textbooks of mathematics are well supervised by well-trained statisticians and teachers are periodically trained for the statistical knowledge.

이 연구의 목적은 실제 수업을 통해 이루어진 교수 상황과 면담을 통하여 제7차 화학I 교육과정이 화학 교사들에게 어떻게 인식되고 있는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이 연구를 위하여 화학I 교과를 가르쳐 본 경험을 가지고 있는 4명의 화학 교사를 선정하였다. 연구 결과, 화학 교사들은 제7차 교육과정 화학I 의 목표를 바르게 인식하고 있었으나, 실제 수업에서는 화학II 교과에 제시하는 개념들까지도 다루는 설명식 수업을 하고 있었다. 교사들은 그 이유가 대학수학능력시험 때문이라고 생각하였다. 그러나 기출문제를 분석한 결과, 화학I 교과를 벗어난 내용은 거의 없었다. 이를 통해 화학교사들은 제7차 화학I 교육과정의 목적을 피상적인 지식으로만 알고 있을 뿐 내면화하지 못하고 있으며, 평가에 대한 잘못된 인식이 7차 교육과정의 화학I 교과의 정신을 발현하는데 방해한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
