'슬기로운 생활'에 수록된 물리 영역 과학 용어 분석 (Analyzing the Science Words of Physics in 'Wise Life' Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this study was to select the basic words of physics for science education which were learned through everyday life or school education and be foundation of learning science. For this, we collected all words in the 'Wise Life' textbooks by 7th and 2007 National Curriculum, and extract the science words. As a result, there were 8,970 words in 8 textbooks of 'Wise Life', and about 18% of them, 1,585 words, were science words. There were 266 kinds of science words and most of them were biology words. And the textbooks by 2007 National Curriculum had more science words than by 7th's. Finally we selected 24 basic words of science only in the physics area by comprehensively considering difficulty, need and frequency.

제7차 교육과정을 이수한 공과대학 신입생의 학업성취도 연구 (A Study on the Academic Achievements of Engineering College Students Educated by the $7^{th}$ National Education Process)

  • The 7th National Education Process, implemented in 2004, features student-oriented, selective educational programs with a wide range of optional subjects. In 2005, reflecting this revised National Education Process, the College Scholastic Ability Test began allowing individual students to choose the subjects for examination they would like to take. As a result, the deviations of the college freshmen's academic achievements in some subjects have noticeably widened. This study shows academic abilities of the students on some subjects by comparing the results of 2008 College Scholastic Ability Test with that of the Basic Academic Ability Evaluation Test for freshmen in engineering college of Hongik university. Lastly, this paper presents some improvement plans in order to better accommodate students with academic achievement levels lower than what is expected by the university.

중학교 과학교과서의 한자 화학용어가 학생들의 화학개념 이해도에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis of Influence on Students' Chemistry Concepts Understanding by Chinese Chemistry Terminology in 7th Grade Science Textbooks)

  • 제7차 교육 과정의 7학년 과학교과서에서 화학영역의 용어를 분석하고 한자 화학용어에 대해 한문 선택반과 비한문 선택반 학생들의 난이도와 이해도를 분석하였다. 7학년 과학교과서에서 한자용어의 비율은 6차 교육 과정에 비하여 약간 줄어들었으나 여전히 70%가 넘게 높았다. 학생들은 추상적인 개념어를 주로 어려워했으며, 전문용어를 비전문 용어보다 어렵게 생각하고 구체어거나 일상적으로 많이 사용하는 용어를 쉽게 생각하였다. 학생들의 한자용어에 대한 이해도의 경향은 난이도와 대부분 일치하였다. 한자화학용어에 대한 이해도는 한문 선택반 학생들이 높았으며, 쉽게 전환된 화학용어에 대해 비교군의 차이가 없었고 모두 한자 화학용어에 대한 이해도보다 크게 향상되었다. 따라서 한자용어를 한글로 전환하여 가능한 쉽고 익숙한 한글 위주의 국 한 혼용의 용어로 교과서가 쓰인다면 과학교과에 대한 이해도가 향상되리라고 생각된다.

  • 이 연구에서는 학습결손이 심한 학생들에게 학교수업 정규시간에 이해하지 못한 내용을 별도로 보충할 수 있는 기회를 마련해 주고자 제7차 교육과정에서 도입한 중학교 수학교과 특별보충과정을 동료친구에 의한 멘토링 수업방법으로 운영하여 성과를 얻고 있는 사례를 질적으로 분석하여 멘토링 수업을 특별보충과정 운영에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 탐색하고 이 방법의 효율적인 운영방안에 대해 알아보고자 한다.

제 7차 교육과정에 의한 초등학교 과학 교과서의 STS 내용 분석 (An Analysis of STS Content in the Elementary School Science Textbooks Developed Under the 7th National Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 제 7차 교육과정에 의한 초등학교 과학 교과서에서 STS 내용을 분석하는 것이다. 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다: (1) STS 내용의 포함 비율은 쪽수의 측면에서는 26%, 수업 시수의 측면에서는 40%이었다. '에너지'와 '물질' 영역에서의 비율이 높고 학년별 비교에서는 5학년 교과서에 포함된 내용이 상대적으로 적었다. (2) 대부분의 STS 주제는 기술이나 사회보다는 과학과 관련 있었다. (3) STS 내용이 한 시간 수업의 전체 과정에서 사용되는 경우도 많았다. (4) 대부분의 활동이 '그룹활동'과 '실험.관찰'에 해당하였고 '역할놀이, '현장견학', '인터뷰' 등의 활동은 거의 없었다. 이러한 결과는 개정된 교과서가 최근의 STS 교육사조를 잘 반영한다는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 STS 주제나 활동유형을 보다 다양화시키는 등 일부 측면에서의 개선이 요구됨을 시사한다.

환경교육 교사 양성 대학의 교육과정 현황 및 개선 방향 (The Current Situation and the Direction for Improvement of the Curriculum on Environmental Education Teacher Training Universities)

  • The purpose of this study is to formulate the direction lot improvement of the curriculum on environmental education teacher training. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the nature of the courses related to subject matter education should be changed from the course of teaching profession into the course of special study, Second, the combination of the courses related to environmental education and environmental science is needed, Third, the curriculum should sufficiently include the contents of the 7th curriculum, Fourth, the curriculum should contain the courses of environmental science which can help the pre-service teachers to understand the fundamentals and concepts of ecology, This curriculum should also include the courses which can improve the pre-service teacher's ability to teach for the development of student's affirmative environmental value and attitude, Fifth, the curriculum should include the courses which are useful for the pre-service teachers to learn teaching method such as case study and simulation for the education of environmental knowledge and of cognitive domain about environmental issues. Sixth, the curriculum should reflect the contents of the regulation for teacher certificate which was renewed in Jan. of 2000.

제7차 초등학교 교육과정 교과서의 환경 관련 내용 분석 (The Analysis of Contents Related to Environmental Education in the Elementary School Textbooks of 7th Korea National Curriculum)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the contents related to environmental education(EE) in the elementary school textbooks for the following areas: well-balanced EE, and development of EE curriculum/teachers' guide in elementary school level. For the purpose of this analysis, elementary school teachers, education administrators and EE specialists were involved. Eleven content areas of EE, namely: natural environment, artificial environment, population, industrialization, natural resources, pollution, environmental conservation, environment sanitation, environment ethics, environmentally sound and sustainable development(ESSD), and daily li(e as a consumer, were analyzed. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. There are total 1,140 contents related to EE in the elementary school textbooks of 7th Korea National Curriculum. 2. The textbooks of grade 6 contain the most number of EE contents, while the least number is in the textbooks of grade 3. 3. The subject that includes EE contents equally in its textbooks is social studies, and the subjects that relate a lot to EE are Korean language, science, and social studies respectively. 4. The content areas that are included a lot in textbooks are' natural environment', 'pollution', and' environmental conservation' respectively, while the contents of 'population','industrialization', 'ESSD' are included to a lesser degree. The content area most frequently mentioned in the textbooks is 'pollution', and the number of the contents are increasing along with the grade level. 5. Generally, the content areas of 'population', 'industrialization', and 'natural resources' are reflected in the textbooks to a lesser degree than others. 'Industrialization' is not included in the textbooks of grade 2, while 'population' is not included in ones of grade 4. According to the result, more concern about balanced EE in content areas is needed at the elementary school level. Similar studies tot K and secondary school levels are needed. The developmental study of EE guide book and teacher training for teaching EE using the book are also recommended.

교육과정기 이전의 의생활 영역의 교육내용에 대한 고찰 (제1보) -초등가사 교과서를 중심으로- (The Contents of Clothing & Textiles Education before the 1st Curriculum (Part I) -Elementary Home Economics Textbook-)

  • The contents of clothing and textiles area of elementary home economics textbooks from 1948 to 1955 were investigated. Home economics of elementary school education in those days corresponds to practice acts of elementary school education in present. Practical acts has the all-around concepts of the agriculture, industry and home economics Also the knowledge or skill for actual life are teamed. Practical acts education was started from lessons of sewing for women under title of 'jaebong'. It can be said that practical acts education was started from clothing and textiles area. The home economics elementary textbooks of the year 1948 were composed of 21 units for 5th grade and 22 units for 6th grade. The textbook for 5th grade of 1953 was composed of 19 units, and one for 6th grade of 1955 was composed of 18 units. The clothing and textiles area accounts for 38.6% in 5th grade textbook, for 32% in 6th grade textbook of 1948 and for 31% in 5th grade of 1953 and 6th grade textbooks of 1955. The textbook contents of clothing and textiles area were classified into five fields of sewing, knitting. patching, embroidering and care. In 1948, textbooks were placed a great deal of weight on sewing field education as 7 units of 15 units. The 7 units for sewing fields have suitable connection to develop. But, in the case of knitting, patching or care, just groundwork of each field was included for application to actual life without vertical connection. The contents of textbooks for clothing and textiles area in 1953 and 1955 were much alike with those in 1948.

2007 개정 교육과정에 의한 초등학교 과학과 교과용 도서의 삽화에 나타난 성역할 고정관념 분석 (An Analysis for Gender-Role Stereotyping of Illustrations in Elementary Science Textbooks Developed under 2007 Revised National Curriculum)

  • In this study, the illustrations in 16 elementary science textbooks developed under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum were analyzed in the aspect of gender-role stereotyping, and the results were compared with those of the 7th National Curriculum. The frequencies of male and female who appeared on textbook illustrations were counted, and the types of activities and the characters of them were analyzed. Most pupils were found to be active, and female pupils appearing in the textbooks were more than male pupils. In all types of activities for pupils, the difference between male and female was decreased compared with that of the 7th National Curriculum. Male and female pupils were illustrated in learning activities with almost equal frequencies, but male pupils were still more frequently represented than female pupils in other activities. Gender difference in adults was increased and the difference was statistically significant. Gender difference in houseworks was not large, but the difference in outdoor activities was statistically significant. Especially, the jobs of adults were illustrated as male-centered, and scientists appearing in the textbook illustrations were also mostly male.

교육과정 변천에 따른 지구과학 영역의 과학적 소양 분석 (Analysis of Scientific Literacy on Korean Science Curriculum of Earth Science Contents)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라의 과학과 교육과정 중 과학적 소양이 교육의 목표로 제시된 7차 교육과정부터 2015 개정 교육과정까지 '과학' 과목의 지구과학영역 내용 변화를 과학적 소양의 측면에서 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 지구과학 영역을 천문, 지질, 기상, 해양 내용으로 구분하여 과학적 소양의 요소 중에서 STS적인 요소에 초점을 두고 내용을 분석하였다. 천문과 기상 내용 영역에서는 7차부터 2015 개정 교육과정까지 모든 시기에서 과학적 소양의 측면이 나타났으며, 지질 영역에서는 2007 개정 교육과정, 해양 영역에서는 7차 교육과정을 제외하고 모든 시기에서 과학적 소양의 측면이 나타났다. 천문 내용 영역에서는 과학과 기술의 유용성이 강조되었고, 지질과 기상 내용 영역에서는 일상생활에서의 과학의 이용이 강조되었다. 해양 내용영역에서는 자원부족과 환경오염 등 과학관련 사회적 이슈가 강조됨을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구는 우리나라 과학과 교육과정을 과학적 소양이라는 새로운 측면에서 살펴보려는 시도로 차후 지구과학의 다른 영역 및 물리, 화학, 생물 과목으로 확대하여 내용을 살펴볼 수 있을 것이며, 더 나아가 기존의 물리, 화학, 생물, 지구과학이라는 과목의 테두리에서 벗어나 통합된 학문의 관점에서 과학적 소양을 알아볼 것을 제안한다.
