Securing transportation safety infrastructure technology for Lv.4 connected autonomous driving is very important for the spread of autonomous vehicles, and the safe operation of level 4 autonomous vehicles in adverse weather has limitations due to the development of vehicle-only technology. We developed the radar-enabled AI convergence transportation entities detection system. This system is mounted on fixed and mobile supports on the road, and provides excellent autonomous driving situation recognition/determination results by converging transportation entities information collected from various monitoring sensors such as 60GHz radar and EO/IR based on artificial intelligence. By installing such a radar-enabled AI convergence transportation entities detection system on an autonomous road, it is possible to increase driving efficiency and ensure safety in adverse weather. To secure competitive technologies in the global market, the development of four key technologies such as ① AI-enabled transportation situation recognition/determination algorithm, ② 60GHz radar development technology, ③ multi-sensor data convergence technology, and ④ AI data framework technology is required.

70GHz-band high gain array antenna is developed for automotive short range radar sensor. In Short-rangeradar, the gain must be high in order to increase the resolution, and the angle width must be set to secure the field of view(Fov). The proposed antenna operates at 76~81GHz and satisfies angle width $60^{\circ}$, antenna gain 15dB and the input reflection coefficient of less than -10dB within the operating frequency. Wave guide WR-10 was used to measure the antenna and results similar to the simulation results were obtained.
The microwave Radar used for special purposes in the past is being applied in various areas due to the technological advancement and cost reduction, and is particularly applied to autonomous driving in the automobile field. The FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) Radar can acquire level information of liquid in vessel based on the beat frequency obtained by continuously transmitting and receiving signals by modulating the frequency over time. However, for cryogenic fluids with small impedance differences between liquid medium and gas medium, such as liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen, it is difficult to apply a typical Radar-based level meter. In this study, we develop an 80 GHz FMCW Radar for level measurement of cryogenic fluids with small impedance differences between media and analyze its characteristics. Here, because of the low intrinsic impedance difference, most of the transmitted signal passes through the liquid nitrogen interface and is reflected at the bottom of the vessel. To solve this problem, a radar measurement algorithm was designed to detect multiple targets and separate the distance signal to the bottom of the vessel in order to estimate the precise position on the liquid nitrogen interface. Thereafter, performance verification experiments were performed according to the liquid nitrogen level using the developed radar level meter.

ITS(Intelligent Transport System) has been researched actively to guarantee the smooth traffic and the safety of the vehicle. In recent, as the sensor for the measurement of distance between vehicles, the FMCW radar system in millimeter wave band has been interested in ITS. Actually, 47, 60, 77, 94 and 139 GHz have been assigned for the vehicle radar frequencies in Europe and Japan. However, the performances of the FMCW radar are deteriorated due to the interferences from the surrounding radars and mobile devices. In this paper, in order to model and simulate the performance of FMCW radar under the exterior interference, we propose a new performance parameter, RER(Radius Error Rate), which contains the information of the range error due to the interferences, and show the effectiveness of the proposed parameter.

A series of experimental work has been conducted to evaluate the capability of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system in detecting delamination inside concrete. Three antenna at 900 MHz, 1000 MHz, and 1500 MHz frequency are used in the experiments for laboratory size specimens, and 400 MHz antenna has been used for a large size specimen. The laboratory size specimens have the dimensions of 1,000 mm (length) ${\times}$ 600 mm (width) ${\times}$ 140 mm (thickness) with a delamination of 200 mm (length) ${\times}$ 600 mm (width) ${\times}$ 140 mm (thickness). The cover depth of the delamination is varied as follows: 20 mm, 30 mm, 60 mm, and 70 mm. In all cases, the delamination has been successfully identified. The property of three frequencies was seized about detecting delamination. Also, it was shown that the image results in GPR were improved by signal processing.

In this paper, An X-band solid state power amplifier(SSPA) for pulse compressed microwave signal with 60Watt power and power added efficiency(PAE) above 30% is described. Designed 60Watt high power amplifier(HPA) was implemented by cascade coupled amplifiers, and it is consisted on three stage drive amplifiers with internally matched GaAs FET and one stage main power amplifier with an internally matched GaN HEMT. The designed SSPA has performance with more than total power gain 37dB and output power 48dBm(60-W) in condition of frequency range $9.41{\pm}0.03GHz$, pulse period width under 1ms and duty cycle under 10%. The implemented SSPA can apply to high quality digital marine radar applications with pulse compression technique.
In this paper, the microwave absorbing characteristics after the impact of the radar-absorbing structure (RAS) consisting of periodic pattern sheet (PPS) and glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) were experimentally investigated. The fabricated RAS effectively absorbed the microwave in the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz). In order to induce the damage to the RAS, a low-velocity impact test with various impact energy of 15, 40, and 60 J was conducted. Afterward, the impact damage was observed by using visual inspection, non-destructive test, and image processing method. Moreover, the absorbing performance of intact and damaged RAS was measured by the free-space measurement system. The experiment results revealed that the delamination damage from the impact energy of 15 J did not considerably affect the microwave absorbing performance of the RAS. However, fiber breakage and penetration damage with a relatively large damaged area were occuured when the impact energy was increased up to 40 J and 60 J, and these failures significantly degraded the microwave absorbing characteristics of the RAS.

For the W-band remote sensing radiometer, direct detection type radiometer receiver is designed. The receiver should be low noise and high gain of 60 dB unlike communication and radar receiver. The W-band radiometer consist of 4-stage low noise, high gain amplifier, band pass filter and square law detector. The developed direct detection receiver show 4 GHz bandwidth, 56 dB gain, and 4,500 mV/mW voltage sensitivity at integrator output port for -20 dBm input power at 94 GHz.

Existence of void or delamination inside building foundation or tunneling lining can cause serious problems in structural safety. Therefore, 0probing of such voids in architectural and civil structures is an important process in evaluating the overall integrity of the structures. In this study, the radar method has been examined in its use in detecting voids inside concrete specimens. The dimensions of the specimens are 1,000 mm(width) $\times$ 600 mm (height) $\times$ 140 mm (thickness). A void is embedded inside concrete specimens with the dimensions of 200 mm(width) $\times$ 600 mm (height) $\times$ 50 mm (thickness). Concrete cover depth of 30 mm, 60 mm is studied for comparison. In both cases, the voids is located with 1 GHz antenna.

At the current camera-based technology level, sensor-based basic life pattern recognition technology has to suffer inconvenience to obtain accurate data, and commercial band products are difficult to collect accurate data, and cannot take into account the motive, cause, and psychological effect of behavior. the current situation. In this paper, radar technology for life pattern recognition is a technology that measures the distance, speed, and angle with an object by transmitting a waveform designed to detect nearby people or objects in daily life and processing the reflected received signal. It was designed to supplement issues such as privacy protection in the existing image-based service by applying it. For the implementation of the proposed system, based on TI IWR1642 chip, RF chipset control for 60GHz band millimeter wave FMCW transmission/reception, module development for distance/speed/angle detection, and technology including signal processing software were implemented. It is expected that analysis of individual life patterns will be possible by calculating self-management and behavior sequences by extracting personalized life patterns through quantitative analysis of life patterns as meta-analysis of living information in security and safe guards application.
