A Study on the Efficiency Improvement of Wet Etching Equipment using 6-Sigma Method (6-시그마 기법을 이용한 습식식각 설비의 효율 개선에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 습식식각 설비의 Process 동작 간에 발생되는 설비의 비 가동 시간을 최소화하여 Throughput을 향상시키기 위하여 Monitoring 한 결과 Recipe 변경, 액 교환 발생, Tact 변경 등의 공정간 조건에 따라 대기시간이 발생(생산 지연시간 발생) 하는 것을 확인 하고 이를 개선하기 위한 연구이다. 연구 방법으로, Recipe Data 적용 시점을 약액 구간 처리 완료 시점에서 후속 기판이 대기하지 않고 연속 투입을 실시, Chamber Drain과 약액 Tank 전환이 동시에 이루어지고 액 교환 동작 중 Pump Spray의 연속성을 유지하는 무정지 액 교환 Sequence 적용, Tact 적용 시점을 전 기판 배출 확인 후 실시하는 것을 약액 구간 처리 완료 후 적용의 3가지 방법을 6시그마의 DMAIC 기법을 활용하였다. 연구 결과 개선 전 비 가동 시간이 설비 대당 1일 28분 시그마 Level 3.40 이었던 것을 개선 후 설비 대당 1일 17분 시그마 Level 5.3 으로 개선됨을 확인 할 수 있다.

Modified Sigma Filter by Image Decomposition Using Directivity. (방향성을 고려한 영상 분해에 의해 개선된 시그마 필터)

  • This paper is a study on image noise reduction of modified sigma filter by image decomposition using directivity. Conventional sigma filter has been shown to be a good solution both in terms of filtering accuracy and computational complexity. However, the sigma filter does not preserve well small edges especially for high level of additive noise. In this paper, we propose here a new method using a modified sigma filter. In our proposed method the input image is first decomposed in two components that have features of horizontal, vertical and diagonal direction. Then, two components are applied HPF and LPF. By applying a conventional sigma filter separately on each of them, the output image is reconstructed from the filtered components. Added noise is removed and our proposed method preserves the edges from the image. Comparative results from experiments show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher gains, on average, 2.6 dB PSNR than the sigma filter and 0.5 dB PSNR than the modified sigma filter. When relatively high levels of noise added, the proposed algorithm shows better performance than two conventional filters.

  • In order to improve the effectiveness of software process improvement, more than two models can be use to compensate the weakness of each other. One of integrated models is the one in which CMMI and software six sigma. However, it is very difficult for a small software development organization to select and apply an appropriate set of six sigma tools since there are a lot of six sigma tools and statistical knowledge is required. In this paper, we suggest a six sigma tool selection process to help small organizations select six sigma tools effectively based on organization business value. Thereby, small organizations can efficiently implement CMMI by adopting an appropriate set of six sigma toolkits.

  • Through literature review, this paper studies the development stages of Quality Circles and 6 sigma which are representative of domestic quality improvement activities. Thus, using the judgement guideline of Van der Wiele's classification for fad, fashion, and fit, the development stages for existing researches of Quality Circles and 6 sigma are qualitatively classified by research themes. In addition to, academic and business perspective are examined to grasp a current position of domestic quality improvement activities. As a result of the findings of current development stages of quality improvement activities, domestic Quality Circles which are not going to move on a fit stage are currently classified as the stage between fashion and fit, and 6 sigma activities are currently classified as the stage of fashion.

  • To achieve project successfully in domestic construction site, pre-management of risk is important factor. Synthesis Construction Document made early construction is representative as means of pre-management of risk. But, Synthesis Construction Document is not working properly for pre-management of risk because the level is low as Synthesis Construction Document is made formally and the time is too late to pre manage the risk for various factor. A epoch-making method that differ with existing need to solve this deep-rooted problem of domestic construction site. So, this study is analyzing to achieve subject to heighten level Synthesis Construction Document and shorten creation period with "S"construction company(introducing 6sigma by tool of management innovation 6 sigma)'s data and offering an opportunity that heightens effectiveness and goes forward and aims possibility about construction site suitability of 6sigma by confirming Pilot Test.

  • Recently there has been huge efforts to improve performance in construction process by applying emerging techniques such as the Lean principle, Just-in-time concept and so on. However, little achievement as we expected has come out in reality due to the lack of strategy to set a definite goal of the execution and differences of personal viewpoints on construction productivity. Accordingly, it is the most important to promote the circumstances for the construction process improvement by quantifying the goals of respective unit activity groups. This research explores feasible solutions for the improvement of construction projects performance by combining the six-sigma principle for the generic administrative innovation based on the idea of construction process performance. For this purpose, mutual comparisons of various current approaches are performed in an attempt to establish the advantages in applying six-sigma idea and to provide its fundamental strategy. Furthermore, through a case study with the simulation of applying six-sigma to a unit activity group in construction process, this paper verifies that the overall performance improves as the degree of sigma level gets advanced.

  • These days, needs and wants of the customers are getting diversified and the market is also changing rapidely. Many organizations are now attempting change and innovation activities to improve products and service quality. This study was performed to apply 6 sigma tools for the efficient repair management of city gas supply equipment. Vital few factors, RISK factors, sigma values, root causes. and solutions were derived by 6 sigma tools. We are performing statistical process control for the new process. Six sigma for city gas supply equipment safety management enabled to improve the business management for efficiency by reducing variation and eliminating cost for quality.

  • Six Sigma keeps its continuous change in terms of its strategies and methodologies for 20 years since it is introduced in the industry Developing innovative business management strategies creating a higher synergy effect has been Pursued by combining Six Sigma and different business strategies. In fact, various research studies have been performed for grafting lean production theory with Six Sigma concept. Specifically, the companies which obtained positive results from the applications of Six Sigma are trying to adopt Lean Six Sigma theory for their business strategies. However, the research studies or the applications of Lean Six Sigma are insufficient in the construction industry compared to the other industries such as manufacturing. In order to deal effectively with this issue, this research study suggests the improved and restructured Six Sigma DMAIC processes by embodying the existing Six Sigma DMAIC processes applied on construction projects and improving them through the improvement territories of Lean Six Sigma studied in advance.

Improving Construction Operations Through Applications of 6 Sigma Management Techniques for Superstore Projects (6시그마 기법의 적용을 통한 대형 할인점 공사의 시공성과 향상)

  • In order to improve the performance of succeeding superstore construction projects, it is essential to find out an effective way for applying the opportunities of improvement on their repetitive construction process based upon the analysis of various success or failure cases occurred on previous similar projects. This research study suggests a way to improve their construction process through the applications of six sigma techniques on superstore construction projects. A literature review was implemented on the basic concept of six sigma and its general performance steps, and the step by step applications of six sigma techniques were accomplished regarding to the speciality of superstore construction projects. The opportunities of improvement for superstore projects were figured out, and the result of their applications on other superstore projects was analyzed. As a result, it was found that the adoption rate of identical success or failure cases was increased. Also, there were several improvement effects on the projects such as $10{\sim}20$ days of time savings by projects, decrease of reworks by preventing failure cases, quality and safety improvement. These results indicate that the six sigma techniques are applicable and valuable for improving the repetitive process of superstore construction projects.

  • SW 기술이 급변하는 현 시점에서는 SW 관리의 중요성이 인식되어 SW 품질향상을 위한 제도 개선의 일안으로 SW 개발 산출물에 대한 SW 신뢰성 시험이 요구되고 있으나, SW 신뢰성 시험에 투입되는 비용, 시간적 제약 및 휴먼에러 등으로 인해 SW 시험요구조건을 충족하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 문제 해결 도구로써 린6시그마 방법론을 활용하여 SW 신뢰성시험시간을 단축하고 인적오류를 감소할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.
