Biodegradation of Abandoned Livestock by Blow Flies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) (검정파리(Calliphoridae)에 의한 폐가축의 분해 촉진)

  • A possible rapid biodegradation of abandoned livestock was tested by using the dead pig and chicken. The dead pig (36kg) was completely decomposed after 23 days of placement in the open field during June 2007. When the door of a cage in which a dead chicken (3.4kg) was placed was opened, a lot of flies were attracted to the chicken and layed eggs on the chicken. As the result the chicken was decomposed down to 0.6kg after 6 days of placement in the open field, On the other hand when the door was closed, the decomposition was very slow. The chicken weighed 3.0kg even after 6 days. An experiment conducted during October 2007 showed that decomposition speed depended on the number of inoculated flies. When 50 pairs of Lucilia sericata flies were inoculated to 3.2kg chicken, it was decomposed down to 1.0kg after 22 days in the field. However, when 200 female and 100 male flies were inoculated, the 3.4kg chicken was decomposed to 0.8kg after 11 days in the field. A 10,858 pupae (371.2g) was produced from the latter chicken. These pupae may possibly be used as a feed for fish and fowl. From these results it is considered that further research is needed to commercialize the blow flies for the rapid decomposition of an abandoned livestock of diverse size under diverse environment.

A Development of Robot Arm Direct Teaching System (로봇팔 직접 교시 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we developed an intuitive teaching and control system that directly teaches a task by holding the tip of a robotic arm and moving it to a desired position. The developed system consists of a 6-axis force sensor that measures position and attitude forces at the tip of the robot arm, an algorithm for generating robot arm joint speed control commands based on the measured forces at the tip, and a self-made 6-axis robot arm and control system. The six-dimensional force/torque of the position posture of the robot arm operator steering the handler is detected by the force sensor attached to the handler at the leading edge and converted into velocity commands at the leading edge to control the 7-axis robot arm. The verification of the research method was carried out with a self-made 7-axis robot, and it was confirmed that the proposed force sensor-based robot end-of-arm control method operates successfully through experiments by teaching the operator to adjust the handler.

  • The reorientational motion of $C_6F_6$ in neat liquid is investigated in the temperature range 293∼333K by analyzing ${\nu}_2$ and ${\nu}_16$ bands of its Raman spectrum. Diffusion constants for the tumbling ($D_{\bo}$) and spinning ($D_{\parallel}$) motions are determined. The reorientation of the molecule seems to be distinctly anisotropic. Based on the hydrodynamic model, the tumbling motion of the figure axis of $C_6F_6$ is largely diffusional. On the other hand, the spinning motion of the same axis looks mostly inertial.

  • Materials used for education include SM20C, Al6061, and acrylic. SM20C materials are used a lot in certification tests and functional competitions as carbon steel, but they are also used in industrial sites. Al6061 is said to be a material that produces a lot of tools because it has lower hardness than carbon steel and is highly flexible. When practical guidance is given to students using acrylic materials, it is a material that causes vibration and tool damage due to excessive cutting. In this process, we examine how impact on the 5-axis equipment 2NC head can affect precision control. The weakest part of a five-axis equipment is the head that controls the AC axis. In the event of precision and cumulative tolerances in this area, the precision of all products is reduced. Thus, a key part of the 2NC head, the spindle housing was carried out using Al7075 T6 (U.S. Alcoasa) material and the entire body using FCD450 (spherical graphite cast iron). In the vibration and cutting process acting on these two materials, the analysis was carried out to determine the value of applying the force as a finite element analysis under extreme conditions. We hope that using these analytical data will help students see and understand the structure of 5-axis machining rather than 5-axis cutting.

  • Time series data of 6-component loads were computed for a horizontal axis wind turbine rotor in yawed operating conditions with both rotating and non-rotating coordinate systems fixed at a center of a rotor hub. In this study, a well-known 20 kW class of the NREL Phase VI rotor was used for a model wind turbine, and this paper focuses on the yaw moments and over-turning moments for the operating wind speed range between 6 to 25 m/s. Unsteady blade element momentum theorem was adopted to get the aerodynamic loads acting on the wind turbine rotor. Computed 6-component loads using the developed UBEM code were compared with those using the NREL FAST program. From the computed results, both yaw and over-turning moments would be basic inputs to determine not only the specification of yawing mechanism but also the design condition of foundation.

  • 반응표면의 기울기를 추정하기 위한 실험계획법이 가질 수 있는 바람직한 성질로, Hader와 Park(1978)이 제시한 "축 방향에 걸친 기울기 회전성"과, Park(1987)이 제시한 "모든 방향에 걸친 기울기 회전성"이 있다. 또한 주어진 임의의 실험계획에 대하여 축 방향에 걸친 기울기 회전성의 정도를 수치로 나타낼 수 있는 측도(measure)가 Park과 Kim(1992)에 의해 제시된 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 반응표면 실험계획법이 가지고 있는 모든 방향에 걸친 기울기 회전성의 정도를 알 수 있게 해 주는 측도를 개발하였다. 또한 이 측도를 여러 종류의 계획들에 적용하여 결과를 관찰하였다. 이 측도의 장점 중의 하나는 어떠한 계획에도 적용이 가능하다는 점이다. 계획에도 적용이 가능하다는 점이다.

SIMULINK^{$\circledR}$ Modeling of Turboprop Engine for the Performance Analysis (성능해석을 위한 터보프롭 엔진의 SIMULINK^{$\circledR}$ Modeling)

  • SIMULINK^{$\circledR}$를 이용하여 항공기용 터보프롭 엔진을 모델링한 후 현재 KT-1의 추진기관인 PT6A-62 분리축 터보프롭엔진의 성능을 해석하였다. SIMULINK^{$\circledR}$ 모델의 검증을 위하여 상용해석프로그램인 GASTURB 와 비교한 결과 최대오차율 1.07% 이내로 확인되었다. 지상정지 조건에서 블리드 공기유량을 0에서 5%, 보기류 구동에 따른 출력손실을 0에서 20 hp로 가정하고 해석한 결과 축마력은 최대 0.68%감소하며 비연료소모율은 거의 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다.
