This study aims to investigate the relationship between personality, especially temperament and subjective well-being. The participants were 681 college students (211 males and 470 females), whose ages ranged from 17 to 37 (M=20.91, SD=2.36). The instruments utilized in the present study were Korean Version of BAS/BIS Scale, The Big Five Locator, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Life Satisfaction Motivation Scale, Life Satisfaction Expectancy Scale, Emotion Frequency Test, and Subjective Happiness Scale. Result indicated that women expected more positive future than men did, while no gender differences were found in any other well-being variables. Correlational analyses revealed that emotional stability and extroversion were closely associated with life satisfaction, happiness, positive and negative emotion, whereas behavioral activation system (BAS) and behavioral inhibition system (BIS) were more closely associated with motivation to live and expectancy of satisfactory life. There was close relationship between conscientiousness and subjective well-being, because they were college students. As a internal factor, personality was better predictor for subjective well-being of female students. For instance, it accounted for around 35% variance of female's subjective happiness. The present findings reiterate the role of personality in quality of life, and it was discussed with characteristics of subjects, situational factors, and previous studies.
Objectives: This study aims to investigate the psychological factors associated with abstention following a smoking cessation program, and to suggest useful information for those who want to stop . smoking and health practitioners who help them Methods: Participants were 73 smokers (65 males, 8 females) that participated in a hospitalized smoking cessation program, whose mean age was 44.89 (SD=9.61). Participants completed questionnaires and psychological tests including: Demographic sheet, Eysenck's Personality Questionnaire, Multidimensional Coping Scale, Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence, and Jerusalem and Schwarzer's Self-Efficacy Scale. To identify whether the subjects abstained or not and to encourage them to abstain, the researcher called them on the telephone once a week for three months. After three months, they were contacted every other week till six months passed since they had left the smoking cessation program Tthey were THEN contacted once a month for another six months. The data was analyzed by using ANCOVAs with SPSS 10.0 for Windows. Results: 42 (57.5%) out of 73 abstained for one month and 26 (35.6%) abstained for one year. People who failed to abstain within a month showed a higher psychoticism and introversion personality trait than those who abstained for one month, while people who abstained for one month were coping actively in most situations, showed a higher self-efficacy and lower nicotine dependence than those who failed to abstain within a month, and people who failed to abstain within a year showed a higher psychoticism than those who abstained for one year. While people who abstained for one year were coping actively, obstinate, and interpreting positively most situations, they showed a higher self-efficacy than those who failed to abstain within a year. Conclusion: These findings reiterate the roles of personality, self-esteem, nicotine dependence in smoking and suggest the roles for smoking cessation. And it was found the roles of coping styles ,in smoking cessation. It might help smokers who want to stop smoking and health practitioners who help them
One faces four major developmental tasks to achieve in young adulthood, ages between 20 and 40 : intimacy, vocation, marriage and child-rearing. Intimacy is the capacity to commit oneself to concrete affiliations and partnerships and to develop the ethical strength to abide by such commitments, even though they call for significant sacrifices and compromises. Through vocation and marriage young adults become united to networks of persons, find tasks that demand involvement, and gain roles into which they fit and are fitted and which help define their identities. An occupation represents much more than a set of skills and functions : it means a way of life. The extent of vocational choice increases with educational level, and the unconscious factors are frequency the decisive element. The vocational choice stare with fantasy choices in childhood, passes through tentative choices in adolescence, realistic choices in college days, and crystallized choices in post-college days, and finally ends up to the choice of specification. Along with the hazards and the need for realignment of personality functioning, the marriage brings with it new opportunities for self-fulfillment and completion. Motives other than a romantic love gain more importance in the decision to marry and in the choice of a partner. The impulsions to marry are sexual gratification, the desire to propagate, narcissistic gratification, and a need of interdependence. Many factors such as oedipal wishes, sexuality and sexual attractions, socio-economic classes, and geography involve in selection of marriage partner. There are also various motivations to marry a romantic love, the desire for a home of one's own, sexual attractions, the wish for security and a shelter, and the wish for children. The hostile marriage, the marriage on the rebound, the marriage rooted in rescue fantasies, and sado-masochistic marriage are the examples of pathological marriages. A successful marriage will usually both Lead to and require a marked reorganization of the personality structure of each partner that will influence the lurker personality development of each. The purpose of this study was to classify male consumer groups according to the fashion lifestyle, to examine characteristics, needs and wants of each group, and to find out differences of cosmetics purchasing behavior among each group segment. After surveying 19-50 year old males by making a visit to college, company and home, 584 samples were analyzed by using SPSS(7.0) package program. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, crosstabs and $X^2-test$ were used to analyse collected data. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Twenty-two questionnaires using AIO fashion lifestyle variables produced seven factors; oriented fashion, flaunting brand preference, active preference, information intention, strong personality, reasonable economy and others directivity. Three groups based on oriented seven factors: personality, fashion and economy. 2. The Personality group had strong personal characters in their fashion. Men in this group prefer casual style and were represented by singles and professionals in their 30's. The fashion group pursued fashion trends, formal wears, and high-priced fashions. They were represented by singles with high-income managerial positions in their 19-29 age group. The economy group represented the largest sample in this study(54.5%). Men in this group tended to purchase fashion goods during of good fabrics at discount stores. This group represented married man with average incomes in their 40's. 3. Each of these three groups showed significant differences in cosmetics purchasing behavior. The personality group mainly purchased cosmetics on-line market because of price. The Internet tended to be their primary source of informations. They spent under 10,000won and pursued a simple and clear image. The fashion group purchased cosmetics at department stores to benefit from the knowledge of sales personal and their source of informations in the mass media. They spent over 70,000won monthly and pursued also a simple and clear image. The economy group purchased cosmetics at discount stores because of their wide assortment of products. They spent under 30,000won monthly and pursued a simple and clear image. Each of these groups currently consume different products and have a different concept of future cosmetic products.

The objective of this study was to search the effect of individual personality (big five personality) on creative behavior. In particular, we tried to find out how the individual characteristics of the students who are perceived as unique majors in university and students who are in non-art, music and physical education affect the creative behavior. To perform this, questionnaires were distributed to 150 university students in art, music and physical education and 150 non-art, music, and physical education university students in C University located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. 275 copies (91.7%) of valid questionnaires were used among them. As a result, extroversion, openness, Friendliness, and sincerity were found to affect creative behaviors, excluding neuroticism (emotional stability) among five factors of personality. Additional analysis was performed by departmentalizing the majors of respondents as art, music and physical education and non-art, music, and physical education. In the case of art, music and physical education, extroversion, openness, friendliness affected the creative behavior, and in the case of non-art, music and physical education, only extroversion and openness influenced creative behavior. This difference can be understood as the difference of habits according to major, and it has been proved that it is also similar to previous research results.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among loneliness, life satisfaction, social support and perceived health status, and further to identify factors affecting loneliness among hospitalized patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive survey. A sample of 205 hospitalized patients with pneumoconiosis was recruited from August 10 to 27, 2011. The data were collected using structured questionnaire and were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. Results: The mean score of loneliness was very high (46.5). The levels of loneliness depended on several factors including the duration of coalworker caregiver, personality, exercise, hobbies and reported complications. The reported loneliness was significantly correlated with life satisfaction (r=-.204, p=.003). family support (r=-.220, p=.002), professional medical team support (r=-.303, p<.001) and perceived health status (r=-.175, p=.012). The influential factors affecting loneliness were professional medical team support, life satisfaction, and personality, perceived health status, complication and family support, which explained about 21.8% of the variance. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that nursing intervention is needed to reduce loneliness, and to improve the perceived health status, social support and life satisfaction in the hospitalized patient with pneumoconiosis. These results can provide for evidence of nursing intervention to facilitate reduction of loneliness.
Purpose: We wanted to examine the degree of employment stress that university seniors suffer and to find the factors affecting on this employment stress. Methods: The subjects were 250 university seniors in Seoul and Gyeonggido, and the data were gathered by using questionnaires that were administered from September to October in 2004. The data were analyzed with the SAS program by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score of the respondents' total employment stress was 96.5 point out of 200. Their sub-factors of employment stress was 2.0 out of 4.0 for 'academic', 1.9 for 'personality', 2.1 for 'school environments' and 1.9 for 'home environments'. The degree of the seniors' employment stress from such things as their majors, their available jobs in the future, leaves of absence from school, the employment status, and the number of semesters within the leave was found to have significant differences. The major factors affecting on the employment stress were those related to personality stress and majors of the students, and these were 92.7% of the total stress. Conclusion: This study suggests the necessity of intervention or counseling with consideration being given to seniors' employment stress and the other symptoms like depression for improving the health of university seniors.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological factors of Sasang constitutions which are classified by QSCC II(Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Classification II) using major personality tests which are based on western psychological theory. Methods: 151 college students completed the MMPI-2, MBTI, NEO-PI-R, TCI-RS, and QSCC II. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and post hoc testing to find which personality scale significantly differentiated each Sasang constitution style. Results: MMPI-2, scale 2(D), 5(Mf), 7(Pt), 0(Si) and introversion scale(INTR) showed significant differences between Soeumin and Soyangin. Also, on the dimension of introversion-extraversion in MBTI, and neuroticism(N) and extraversion(E) in NEO-PI-R, there were differences between Soeumin and the other two constitutions(Soyangin and Taeeumin). Finally, in TCI-RS, there were differences between Soeumin and Soyangin on the scale of novelty seeking(NS) and reward dependence(RD), and with regards to the harm avoidance scale(HA), Soeumin received a higher score than any other constitutions. Conclusions: The analysis demonstrates that the classification of QSCC II is most consistent between Soeumin and Soyangin across 4 major personality tests.

Objectives: This study is designed to evaluate the influential factors of career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity by health science college students on their job preparation beaviors. Methods: The total 714 questionnaires were distributed to juniors and seniors of health science college, and the result was statistically analyzed through IBM SPSS statistics 20.0. Results: 1. There was no significant difference of job preparation behavior between male students and female students, and while seniors showed highly active job preparation behaviors, those who had high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, and outgoing personality had highly active job preparation behaviors. 2. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, outgoing personality, and high expected salaries showed high career decision-making self-efficacy level. 3. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement and highly outgoing personality showed high level of career identity. 4. Subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy were collection of job information, goal setting, planning, and self-assessment, and all of them showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. 5. Among subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy, "self-understanding" and understanding of job information showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. Conclusion: For improvement on career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of health science college students, individual support, psychological support, educational support and other supports regarding job employment to provide wide paths and methods for job preparation behaviors are essential, and through various job employment education program and graded counseling, job preparation behaviors shall be promoted as a great strategy.

This thesis examines the effects of entrepreneurship on the career maturity of middle school students through moderating the effects of 5 personality factors. For that purpose, we have conducted a survey for 500 middle school students. We measured three aspects suggested by Kang Byung Ho (2011) for the entrepreneurship. The career maturity test for middle and high school students(Yim un and so on, 2012) to test the career maturity of middle school students and measure items suggested by Lee Tae Gyu and Yun Hye Hyun(2008) to test the five-factor model as a tool. The results were acquired using an SPSS 22.0 program to analyze the research results as follows. Hypothesis 1. 'How much entrepreneurship has an effect on the career maturity of middle school students?' This has shown that the higher the entrepreneurship is, the higher the career attitude and career probing ability is. At the same time, the risk-taking in entrepreneurship has no significant effect on the career preparation action. Hypothesis 2. 'The five-factor model will affect the controlling of the relationship between entrepreneurship and the career maturity (career attitude, career probing ability and career preparation action) of middle school students.' This five-factor model has affected the relationship between the entrepreneurship and career attitude, the sub-area of career maturity. However, it has not affected the career probing ability and career preparation action, another sub-area of the career maturity. This study is useful because we have probed the effect of entrepreneurship on the career maturity of middle school students and the control-effect of the five-factor model. We suggest that this study will give a chance to middle school students to realize their career, to probe and design their career and to cultivate their ability to live a active life in 21th century.
