Derivation of the First-Order Mass-Transfer Equation for a Diffusion-Dominated Zone of a 2-D Pore (2차원으로 구현한 다공성 매질의 확산주도영역에 관한 1차 물질이동 방정식의 유도)

  • A new analytic solution was derived for the diffusion into or from an immobile zone of a rectangular 2-D pore. For a long time, the new solution converges to a traditional mobile-immobile zone (MIM) model, but only if the latter is used with an apparent initial concentration that is smaller by almost 20% than the true one. This is the tradeoff for using a simple MIM model instead of an exact model based on the diffusion equation. The mass-transfer coefficient was found to be constant for a sufficiently long time; it was proportional to the molecular diffusion and inversely proportional to the square of the pore depth. The mass-transfer coefficient was time-dependent for a sufficiently short time and may be significantly larger than its asymptotic value.

  • In this paper, we investigate the radio wave radiation pattern to measure the actual field strength for the transmission antenna dipole antenna and the CP-ring antenna being used in our country as FM station, and the comparison was for field application. Compare results, If the transmitting station and the relay station which is located in the middle of a service area has been a useful CP-dipole antenna (four directions). CP-ring antenna having a directivity because the reflection effect of the tower was able to adjust the orientation to prevent the spread of menstrual another service area in the main direction was able to radiate high propagation 5~9dB. Especially, If the transmitting station and the relay station is located on one side of the service area for radiating radio waves in three directions by using the CP-ring antennas focus the orientation of the antenna in populated areas and road area can improve the broadcast reception environment.

  • 최근 Convolutional neural networks(CNN) 기반의 초해상화 기법인 Super-Resolution Convolutional Neural Networks (SRCNN) 이 좋은 PSNR 성능을 발휘하는 것으로 보고되었다 [1]. 하지만 많은 제안 방법들이 고주파 성분을 복원하는데 한계를 드러내는 것처럼, SRCNN 도 고주파 성분 복원에 한계점을 지니고 있다. 또한 SRCNN 의 네트워크 층을 깊게 만들면 좋은 PSNR 성능을 발휘하는 것으로 널리 알려져 있지만, 네트워크의 층을 깊게 하는 것은 네트워크 파라미터 학습을 어렵게 하는 경향이 있다. 네트워크의 층을 깊게 할 경우, gradient 값이 아래(역방향) 층으로 갈수록 발산하거나 0 으로 수렴하여, 네트워크 파라미터 학습이 제대로 되지 않는 현상이 발생하기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 네트워크 층을 깊게 하는 대신에, 입력을 다중 채널로 구성하여, 네트워크에 고주파 성분에 관한 추가적인 정보를 주는 방법을 제안하였다. 많은 초해상화 기법들이 고주파 성분의 복원 능력이 부족하다는 점에 착안하여, 우리는 네트워크가 고주파 성분에 관한 많은 정보를 필요로 한다는 것을 가정하였다. 따라서 우리는 네트워크의 입력을 고주파 성분이 여러 가지 강도로 입력되도록 저해상도 입력 영상들을 구성하였다. 또한 잔차신호 네트워크(residual networks)를 도입하여, 네트워크 파라미터를 학습할 때 고주파 성분의 복원에 집중할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 set5 데이터와 set14 데이터에 관하여 실험을 진행하였고, SRCNN 과 비교하여 set5 데이터에서는 2, 3, 4 배에 관하여 각각 평균 0.29, 0.35, 0.17dB 의 PSNR 성능 향상이 있었으며, set14 데이터에서는 3 배의 관하여 평균 0.20dB 의 PSNR 성능 향상이 있었다.

Plant Regeneration from Hypocotyl-Derived Protoplasts of Brassica oleracea var. capitata (양배추 배축 원형질체로부터 식물체 재분화)

  • Protoplasts were isolated from hypocotyl tissues of 5-day-old Brassica oleracea var capitata Green Challenger seedlings. Several media were used for protoplast culture and shoot regeneration. The shoot-regeneration rapacity of protoplast derived callus depended on the initial culture medium. Protoplasts were cultured in liquid medium (B5 medium supplemented with CaCl2, 2H2O 600mg/L, g1ucose 20g/L, D-mannito1 70g/L, NAA lmg/L, BA lmg/L, 2.4-D 0.25 mg/L)at 27$^{\circ}C$ under the dark After 5 to 10 days, cultlues were diluted with medium with a reduced osmotic stabilizer and then transferred to illuminated conditions. The culture medium was changed with the fresh medium at 7- to 10-day-intervals until the formation of microcallus. Hypocotyl protoplast-derived callus proliferated when transferred to MS medium supplemented with NAA lmg/L, BA 1mg/L and GA$_3$ 0.02mg/L. Upon transfer to MS basal medium without growth regulators, roots were produced. In an attempt to increase the regeneration frequency, 10g/L polyvinylpyrrolidone was added to the regeneration medium, but the shoot regeneration was mot improved. The regenerated whole plants were acclimated in a sterized soilless mixture(vermiculite 2;perlite 2;peat moss1) in a culture room.

Relationship between some Phenological Parameters and Somatic Embryogenesis in Theobroma cacao L.

  • The relationship between three phenological parameters and somatic embryogenesis was investigated during a two-year period. Staminodes and petals from six hybrids and two clones as controls were sowed on three distinct primary callus growth media. Flowering level, fructification level, and leaf thrusts rhythm as phenological parameters were measured simultaneously during the weekly harvest of flower buds. Mean and coefficient of variation of the measured parameters highlighted stable phenological phases. The relationship between phenological parameters and somatic embryogenesis was investigated first by comparing the variation of somatic embryogenesis and that of the phenological parameters, and second by using Pearson's linear correlation. Except for the fructification level in both control clones the first year, the other parameters recorded stable phenological phases, regardless of the genotype and year. Favorable and unfavorable phases for the somatic embryogenesis were identified. In hybrids, favorable phases included February, August, September, and October. In both control clones, time interval propitious to embryogenesis stretched from February to December. The significance of the coefficient of correlation seemed to establish a relationship between somatic embryogenesis and phenology. However, a causal link could not be established. Leaf thrusts rhythm was revealed to be the phenological parameter most linked to somatic embryogenesis. Attempts to optimize embryogenesis during unfavorable phases, showed that a correction of 2.4 D/TDZ concentration is not the solution.

  • This paper presents a new vertex selection scheme for the polygon-based contour approximation. In the proposed method, the entire contour is partitioned into partial segments and they are approximated adaptively with variable accuracy. The approximation accuracy of each segment is controlled based on its relative significance. By computing the relative significance with the texture degradation in the approximation error region, the visual quality enhancement in the reconstructed frames can be achieved under the same amount of the contour data. For this purpose, a decision rule for $d_{max}$ is derived based on inter-region contrasts. In addition, an adaptive vertex selection method using the derived rule is proposed. Experimental results are presented to show the superiority of the proposed method over conventional methods.

  • Architectural drawing has been changing from the general notion, in which it is to predict what it may be like for purely practical purpose. Particularly amongst the Deconstructivists' work, graphic elements make a great contribution to the realization of their self expressive style. Whereas these are often chosen for solely aesthetic reasons, there are some cases in which the act of drawing itself is a crucial, investigative process. This is true of Daniel Libeskind's architectural drawing. For him, Typography seems to be characteristic of his drawing. He Harness typographic elements as metaphors for hid abstract symbolism through his architectural drawings, which retain the possibility to relate to the more radical typographic approaches. Within this context, this thesis will argue how the typographic elements in Daniel Libeskind's architectural drawings can be interpreted. What interconnection can be made between the two practices\ulcorner How can these elements be incorporated into architecture\ulcorner Can they be involved in it as a main constituent\ulcorner This thesis explores diverse possibilities of interpretation of his architectural drawing through typological approaches to the cases where type itself meets the different media and signific ation is given to the other typographic elements.

Adaptive QP Selection using residual transform coefficients of block (블록의 잔여 변환 계수를 이용한 적응적인 QP 선택)

  • In H.264/AVC, if each block is quantized with a adaptive quantization parameter(QP) regardless of the characteristics of a block, it could be the deterioration of the picture quality. In this paper, an adaptive block-based QP selection method is proposed in order to improve picture quality by utilizing the bit amounts of the zigzag-scanned integer transform coefficients of the neighboring blocks and changing the QP value in the current block. The proposed method works in the same way as the encoder and decoder without transmitting the change of QP value to the decoder side. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a gain of about $0.1\sim0.3dB$ compared with H.264/AVC.

  • In this paper, an adaptive illumination change compensation method is proposed for multi-view video coding. In multi-view video, an illumination change can occur due to physically imperfect camera calibration, each different camera position and direction, and so on. These characteristics can cause a performance decrease in the multi-view video coding that uses an inter-view prediction by referring to the pictures obtained from the neighboring views. By using the proposed method, a compression ratio of the proposed method in the multi-view video coding is increased, and finally $0.1{\sim}0.6dB$ PSNR(Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) improvement was obtained compared with the case of not using the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a self-calibration of a multi-camera system using factorization techniques for realistic contents generation. The traditional self-calibration algorithms for multi-camera systems have been focused on stereo(-rig) camera systems or multiple camera systems with a fixed configuration. Thus, it is required to exploit them in 3D reconstruction with a mobile multi-camera system and another general applications. For those reasons, we suggest the robust algorithm for general structured multi-camera systems including the algorithm for a plane-structured multi-camera system. In our paper, we explain the theoretical background and practical usages based on a projective factorization and the proposed affine factorization. We show experimental results with simulated data and real images as well. The proposed algorithm can be used for a 3D reconstruction and a mobile Augmented Reality.
