  • Elastomers based on the thermoplastics are widely used in rubber industries. Thermoplastic elastomers have the advantages of an easy shaping process and elimination of recycling problems. Thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE) is used for making rubber bands in wearable devices and its applications are increasing. In this study, five wrist bands were designed and their mechanical behaviors were examined by computer simulation, using hyper elastic models, Mooney-Rivlin and Ogden models, and a linear elastic model. Simulation results were compared and discussed in terms of band design and material model.

  • Recently, CCTV installations are rapidly increasing in the public and private sectors to prevent various crimes. In accordance with the increasing number of CCTVs, video-based abnormal behavior detection in control systems is one of the key technologies for safety. This is because it is difficult for the surveillance personnel who control multiple CCTVs to manually monitor all abnormal behaviors in the video. In order to solve this problem, research to recognize abnormal behavior using deep learning is being actively conducted. In this paper, we propose a model for detecting abnormal behavior based on the deep learning model that is currently widely used. Based on the abnormal behavior video data provided by AI Hub, we performed a comparative experiment to detect anomalous behavior through violence learning and fainting in videos using 2D CNN-LSTM, 3D CNN, and I3D models. We hope that the experimental results of this abnormal behavior learning model will be helpful in developing intelligent CCTV.

  • Optimization of chassis frame is performed according to the minimization of eleven responses representing one total frame weight, three natural frequencies and seven strength limits of chassis frame that are analyzed by using each response surface model from D-optimal design of experiments. After each response surface model is constructed form D-optimal design and random orthogonal array, the main effect and sensitivity analyses are successfully carried out by using this approximated regression model and the optimal solutions are obtained by using a nonlinear programming method. The response surface models and the optimization algorithms are used together to obtain the optimal design of chassis frame. The eleven-polynomial response surface models of the thirteen frame members (design factors) are constructed by using D-optimal Design and the multi-disciplinary design optimization is also performed by applying dual response analysis.

  • The objective of the current study is to develop an 1D thermoacoustic model for predicting basic characteristics of combustion instability and to investigate effects of key parameters on the instabilities such as effects of flame geometry and acoustic boundary conditions. Another focus of the paper is placed on limit cycle prediction. In order to improve the model accuracy, the 1D model was modified considering the actual flame location and flame length (i.e. distribution of time delay). As a result, it is found that the reflection coefficients have a great effect on the growth rate of the instabilities. In addition, instability characteristics are shown to be strongly dependent upon the fuel compositions.

  • The linear and quadratic log contrast model with mixtures on the strictly positive simplex, $$ x_{q-1} = {(x_1, \cdots, x_q):\sum x_, = 1 and \delta \leq \frac{x_i}{x_j} \leq \frac{1}{\delta} for all i,j},$$ are considered. Using the invariance arguments, symmetric D-optimal designs are investigated. The class of symmetric D-optimal designs for the linear log contrasts model is given. Any D-optimal design for the quadratic log contrast model is shown to metric D-optimal designs for q=3 and 4 cases are given.

  • This paper presents the selection, examination, and user test (SEUT) procedure to determine the ideal color scheme for a 4D model. This systematic procedure can be performed iteratively to obtain the color scheme that would be most appropriate for construction purposes. To verify the proposed procedure, an example case with two iterations is presented. Ten color schemes were examined and 48 users tested during the two iterations, and the result shows that the SEUT procedure is an effective method for determining the ideal color scheme for 4D models.

  • In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem to the tropical climate model. We establish the global regularity for the 2D tropical climate model with generalized nonlocal dissipation of the barotropic mode and obtain a multi-logarithmical vorticity blow-up criterion for the 2D tropical climate model without any dissipation of the barotropic mode.

  • Investigation on operation of the test apparatus for the M4 semi-freejet tests with a full-scale vehicle model was carried out utilizing domestic facilities. An integrated design of the experimental apparatus and the vehicle model was obtained through iterative computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. The test results showed that the M4 nozzle of the apparatus was fully expanded to provide required test conditions. It was also found that the intake of the vehicle model successfully started, and the corresponding shadowgraph images were recorded during the test. A variable nozzle of the model was set to adjust the back pressure of the model combustor, and wall-static pressures were measured to obtain the pressure distribution at the main locations of the model. The flame of torch ignitors and pilot fuel ignition were observed in a flame-holder of the combustor.
