  • In order to investigate remotely the behavior and distribution of fishes, the telesounder system which was composed of two parts with a buoy station at sea and a base station on land was manufactured trial. The buoy station at sea consists of fishfinder, transmission interface and transceiver. On the other hand, the base station on land consist of transceiver, receiving interface, trigger/signal separator and color display monitor. The system simulation for the performance of telesounder was carried out by use of echo simulator which could input echo signal into fishfinder. The received power (dBm) of transceiver at 29.4MHz decreased almost in proportion to distance between transmitter and receiver, and the electric field intensity was 12.12mV/m at 100 meters distance from transmitter. The image of color display monitor at the base station on land was very well coincident with the records of fishfinder from the buoy station located at sea. Therefore, it is concluded that the telesounder system is very useful in the analysis of the information on the behavior and the distribution of fishes detected from sea.

  • In this study, we constructed a virtual auditory display(VAD) that enables listener to move in a room freely. The VAD system was installed in a soundproof room($4.7m(W){\times}2.8m(D){\times}3.0m(H)$). The system consisted of a personal computer, a sound presentation device, and a three-dimensional ultrasound sensor system. This system acquires listener's location and position from a three-dimension ultrasonic sensor system covering the entire room. Localization was realized by convolving the sound source with head related transfer functions(HRTFs) on personal computer(PC). The calculated result is generated through a LADOMi(Localization Auditory Display with Opened ear-canal for Mixed Reality). The HRTFs used in the experiment were measured for each listener with loudspeakers constantly 1.5m away from the center of the listener' s head in an anechoic room. To evaluate the system performance, we experimented a search task of a sound source position in the condition that the listener is able to move all around the room freely. As a result, the positioning error of presented sound source was within 30cm in average for all listeners.

  • We present a novel head tracking system for stereoscopic displays that ensures the viewer has a high degree of movement. The tracker is capable of segmenting the viewer from background objects using their relative distance. A depth camera using TOF(Time-Of-Flight) is used to generate a key signal for eye tracking application. A method of the moving parallax barrier is also introduced to supplement a disadvantage of the fixed parallax barrier that provides observation at the specific locations.

  • A keyboard system for hands-free virtual reality head mounted display using electrooculogram (EOG) signal which occurs during the eye-blinking is proposed. This system consists of display device, gyroscope sensor, gravity sensor and electro-encephalogram (EEG) sensor, and it is implemented with Unity3D engine for system control and graphic processing. If the input language of proposed keyboard system is Korean, i.e. Hangul, the Chonjiin keyboard method is utilized; but for the English spelling, numbers or special characters, $3{\times}4$ keyboard method is used in order to solve the spatial problem. By the implemented method, it can be verified that the user can handle the keyboard input of virtual reality head mounted display with only neck movement and EOG, instead of using hands.

  • An optical system which can autonomously form and display an impression of a picture made up by many figures has been developed. This system consists of optical fuzzy-neurons which calculate the correlation between the input picture and the reference image by incoherent optics. The calculated signal is applied to an amplifier whereby the output signal increases, then decreases according to increase of the input signal . These outputs are synthesized, and are used for changing the position where the system gaze on a part of the input picture by light beam. In this system, the light intensity used for gazing changes chaotically, The attractor drawn from the change of light intensity corresponds to the impression of the picture. This paper shows the results that are calculated by the numerical simulation. The system has been simulated to express the impression for a picture formed by 4figures.

  • Computer assisted cardiac mapping system has made it possible to display local activation times of the heart using a simultaneous multi-point data aquisition system, and opened an era in electrophyslology guided cardiac arrhythmia surgery especially in ventricular tachycardia. In this study, we have developed a 64 channel computerized cardiacmapping system us:ng a micro-computer for basic reasearch of electrophysiology and electrical propagation in cardiac arrhythmias. The significant tasks of this study were the simultaneous acquisition of large amount of data from 64 sites, accurate and rapid analysis, and the effective display of the analyzed data. To solve these problems, we made a 64 channel signal pre-processing board in order to amplify and fitter the raw signals. And we developed the soflu'are Yor cardiac isochronous mapping whictl is presented immediately ama computer-generated graphics. This system is expected 4o enable us to study pathophyslology of cardiac arrhythmia and to improve the results of diagnosis and surgical treatments for cardiac arrhythmia.

  • We propose a speckle reduction technique in electronic holographic display systems, where digital micro-mirror array devices are used as spatial light modulators. By adopting a programmable filtration in a general 4-f optic configuration, it is shown that the signal spectrum components in the frequency domain of a viewing-window-based holographic display system can be selectively filtered. Compared to the widely utilized single-sideband filtration techniques in electronic holographic display systems, our proposed programmable filtration can be utilized to effectively reduce the speckles in the reconstruction of point-cloud-based computer-generated holograms. Experimental results are presented to verify our proposed concept.

  • In most multiple input/output systems, one input affects two or more different outputs. Therefore, there are many inconveniences in using the actual system. In order to solve this problem, a controller that makes an input signal and an output correspond 1:1 is called a decoupling controller. In this paper, I try to implement a relatively simple decoupling controller using a cross-compensator, that is, a compensator that takes an uncorresponding output as an input value. And this cross-compensator has a gain scheduler structure in order to increase the performance. In addition, this system is designed with a distributed control structure using CAN communication, so that it can be manufactured and operated in an easier way when implementing an actual experimental system. The proposed structure is applied to the modified new Arago's disk system and tested, and through this, the effectiveness is confirmed and reported.

  • In this paper, we describe an real-time facial feature tracker. We only used a general USB PC Camera without a frame grabber. The system has achieved a rate of 8+ frames/second without any low-level library support. It tracks pupils, nostrils and corners of the lip. The signal from USB Camera is YUV 4:2:0 vertical Format. we converted the signal into RGB color model to display the image and We interpolated V channel of the signal to be used for extracting a facial region. and we analysis 2D blob features in the Y channel, the luminance of the image with geometric restriction to locate each facial feature within the detected facial region. Our method is so simple and intuitive that we can make the system work in real-time.
