Analysis of Transmission Mode and Bandwidth for LF and MF Antenna (중·장파 대역 안테나의 대역폭 및 전송방식 해석)

  • The transmission bandwidth of shorted-monopole antenna in the frequency range of LF and MF was analyzed and the transmission mode considering the permissible data rate dependant on the transmission bandwidth was analyzed in this paper. Based on the required ERP, the output power of transmitter was deduced by considering the antenna efficiency. The analyses are for DGPS and time information transmission system in the frequency range of 283.5kHz and 65kHz respectively. The transmission antenna was modeled as TLM antenna that designed in the limited antenna site. The antenna equivalent circuit and antenna bandwidth were deduced based on the simulation analysis of antenna characteristics. The analyzed antenna bandwidth was compared with the simulated antenna bandwidth. Also the transmission mode for transmitter of LF and MF was proposed by considering the antenna bandwidth.

  • 본 논문에서는 GSM/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA대역에서 사용할 수 있는 IFA 형태의 내장형 안테나를 설계하고 이를 제작하였다. 이 안테나는 제한된 공간에서 기본 IFA에 전류 흐름의 상쇄작용을 고려하여 4중 대역을 형성 시켰으며, GSM대역에서 Maximum Gain -1.11dBi ~ 1.29dBi, DCS/USPCS/WCDMA대역에서 -1.15dBi~3.12dBi의 결과를 얻었다. 방사패턴 또한 전방향성에 가까운 특성을 가지고 있으며 전체적으로 효율은 약 3.35% ~ 33.23% 향상됨을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 GSM/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA대역에서 사용할 수 있는 IFA 형태의 내장형 안테나를 설계하고 이를 제작하였다. 이 안테나는 제한된 공간에서 기본 IFA에 전류 흐름의 상쇄작용을 고려하여 4중 대역을 형성 시켰으며, GSM대역에서 Maximum Gain 2.23dBi~2.89dBi, DCS/USPCS/WCDMA대역에서 -3.24dBi~0.74dBi의 결과를 얻었다. 방사패턴 또한 전방향성에 가까운 특성을 가지고 있으며 전체적인 평균효율은 약 15% 향상됨을 확인할 수 있다.

Dual-Wideband Bandpass Filter Using Distributed Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Line Quad-Mode Resonators (분산 CRLH 전송선로 4중 모드 공진기를 이용한 이중-광대역 대역통과 여파기 설계)

  • This paper presents a dual-wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with high band-to-band isolation and skirt selectivity using distributed composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) quad-mode resonators (QMRs). The results of the proposed distributed CRLH TL unit cell analysis are used to establish the scattering parameters and the resonance frequencies of the QMR constituting the dual-wideband BPF. A novel dual-wideband bandpass filter is designed and fabricated, using the derived scattering characteristics. The measured results show that the fabricated dual-wideband bandpass filter has an insertion loss of less than 1.08dB in the lower band, and of 2.01dB in the upper band, a bandwidth of 2.8-5.52GHz and 9.68-12.26GHz, and a band-to-band isolation of more than 38dB, from 6.34-8.42GHz.

  • In this paper, transformed IFA design is proposed to improve the antenna gain of GSM/DCS/PCS band. New antenna structure has been approved to be more convenient matching in the mobile phone terminal and increase gains and expansion bandwidth through the simulation and real measurement. According to measurement, it's shown 1.57dB higher average gain than conventional IFA.

  • 위성 탑재체 제조 산업은 기초 과학이 뒷받침된 초정밀 기계 공학, 첨단 전자 기술, 극한 환경 기술 및 신소재 공학 등과 같은 첨단 산업의 집합체라 할 수 있다. 현재 미국을 비롯한 서구 선진국에서 진행중인 탑재체 기술동향을 보면, 폭발적으로 증가하는 위성수에 따라 위성 궤도가 부족하고 주파수 자원이 고갈되고 있는 상황에서 통신 위성의 효율성과 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 신호처리 탑재(OBP) 위성과 통신기능을 포함한 다양한 기능을 가진 복합위성 개발이 진행되고 있으며 주파수 대역의 포화와 광대역 멀티미디어 서비스 제공 등을 위해 보다 높은 주파수의 준 밀리미터파 대역(Ka 대역) 위성 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 국내에서는 현재, 2008년 발사를 목표로 마이크로스위치 매트릭스(MSM)가 탑재되어 빔간 스위칭이 가능하도록 설계된 통신해양기상위성(COMS)용 통신 탑재체(SACOM) 개발이 진행중이다. 국내의 위성탑재용 RF 부품분야는 1990년부터 위성 중계기 시스템의 기본적인 설계, 조립, 종합화, 시험기술을 바탕으로 통신위성 탑재체용 초고주파 부품을 개발하여 왔으며, 2000년대에는 Ku 대역(12/14GHz) 및 Ka 대역(20/30GHz) 기술인증모델(EQM) RF 부품을 성공적으로 개발하였다. 이를 바탕으로 통신해양기상위성 통신탑재체용 Ka 대역 RF 부품이 현재 우주인증 모델(QM)의 개발이 완료되었으며 비행 모델(FM) 개발이 진행중이다.

A Design of Dual-band Microstrip Antennas using Stacked Inverted-L-shaped Parasitic Elements for GPS Applications (GPS용 역 L형 기생소자를 이용한 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, newly proposed dual-band microstrip antennas using stacked inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements are presented for GPS $L_1(1.575GHz)$ and $L_2(1.227GHz)$ bands. For making dual band which has large interval, ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ band) inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements were stacked at both side of radiation apertures on the half-wavelength($L_2$ band) patch antennas. The resonance in the parasitic elements occurs through coupling to the patch. Next, due to using circular polarization at GPS, ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ band) inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements was stacked using sequential rotation technique on the patch and both side of the diagonal corners of the antenna were eliminated to make dual-band circular polarization. The designed circular polarized antenna's dimensions are $0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.06{\lambda}L$ (${\lambda}L$ is the free-space wavelength at 1.227 GHz). Measured -10 dB bandwidths was 120 MHz(7.6%) and 82.5 MHz(6.7%) at GPS $L_1$ and $L_2$ bands. and 3 dB axial ration bandwidths are 172 MHz(10.9%) and 25 MHz(2.03%), respectively. All of these cover the respective required system bandwidths. Within each of the designed bands, broadside radiation patterns were observed.

A Dual-Sprial Line Loaded Monopole Antenna having a Vertical Groundplane for Quadband Applications (수직 접지면을 가지는 4중 대역용 이중 스파이럴 라인 로디드 모노폴 안테나)

  • In this paper, we propose a dual-spiral line loaded monopole antenna having a vertical ground plane for quadband applications. The antenna occupies a volume of $38{\times}12{\times}7\;mm^3$ with a $40{\times}92\;mm^2$ ground plane. The measured impedance bandwidths of the antenna based on $VSWR{\le}2$ are approximately of 11.7 % and 24.8 % in the first and second frequency band, respectively. The operating frequency can simultaneously cover Cellular($0.824{\sim}0.894\;GHz$), PCS($1.750{\sim}1.870\;MHz$), UMTS($1.920{\sim}2.170\;MHz$), and IMT-2000($1.885{\sim}2.200\;GHz$) bands. The maximum gains of the antenna are -0.99 dBi, 4.07 dBi, 2.72 dBi, and 4.33 dBi at the center frequencies of the Cellular, PCS, UMTS, and IMT-2000 bands, respectively. Good radiation patterns are experimentally obtained.

  • This paper presents the photonic bandgap structure that has a defect mode within a broad stopband. In order to create a broad stopband, we eliminated one of periodic stopbands of PBG structure by using a quarter-wavelength transformer and cascaded another PBG structure having a center frequency corresponding to the eliminated stopband. We have demonstrated that it is a simple and effective method that can solve an overlapping problem of periodic stopband in two cascaded PBG structures.

  • Antenna switch module(ASM) for quad-band was developed. This module was integrated by RFIPD(RF integrated passive device) and transistor switch instead of LTCC-type device using low pass filters, diodes and passive elements in RF front end module for cellular phone. This module leads to low cost and miniaturization(The area is $5{\times}5\;mm$ and the thickness is 0.8 mm). The insertion loss and the return loss of each band were averagely measured as 1.0 dB(insertion loss), 15.1 dB(GSM/EGSM return loss) and 19 dB(DCS/PCS return loss), respectively.
