This study is designed to provide some basic materials for finding better ways to promote student-parent communication in order to elevate the sense of self-esteem among middle school students and to talk about the importance of communication between students and parents through looking at the current student-parent communication reality resulting from socio-demographic changes among male and female middle school students and analyzing some influences student-parent communication has on students' self-esteem. To attain the aforementioned purpose, total 650 2nd grade and 3rd grade middle school students were asked to fill out the questionnaire. The schools that they are attending are 2 schools in Gwangju City and 2 schools in a township in Jeonnam. 617 students responded to the survey. In order to see the general characteristics and the distribution of major variables of the respondents, the data were used to produce frequency. percentile, standard deviation and correlation quotient. and t-test. one-way Anova, Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis techniques were put to use. The results from this study are as follows: student groups that have good relations with other students seemed to be more open and active in their communication with their mother and father. Female students and students in their 2nd grade had more open talking relations with their mothers than male students and students in their 3rd grade. Students had more open talking relations with their father when father's occupation is office worker. In the difference of self-esteem that results from variables in communication between students and parents, a significant variance was presented in the level of the self-esteem of middle school students. When they had open communication with both parents, they had a high sense of self-esteem. and when their communication style was problematic, they had a low sense of self-esteem. When they had better relations with other students, when they had more open communication styles with their mother, when they had better school records, when they felt more satisfaction with communication With their father, they showed a higher level of self-esteem.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the number of self-report symptoms for temporomandibular disorders(TMD) and related factors in the third grade students of high school. Methods : A total of 1,043 high school the 3rd students age 16 20 completed a questionnaire from 11 high schools in Andong city from April to June 2010. Student's t-test was used to analyze the difference of TMD number. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the effects of independent variables on TMD number. Results : 1. Students who have one TMD were 71.3%, two 41.7% and over three 25.7%, respectively. 2. The number of TMD symptom of students who have no good habits such as clenching, bite lip and cheeks, resting on hand, chewing gum, hard foods, and unilateral chewing was a statistically significant higher than those who doesn't have ones(p=0.00). 3. TMD number of students who have been under more stress was a significantly higher than those who didn't have been(p=0.00). 4. Bite lip and cheek(${\beta}$=0.03, p=0.037), chewing gum(${\beta}$=0.03, p=0.029), resting on hand(${\beta}$=0.04, p=0.006), hard foods(${\beta}$=0.07, p=0.000), and stress out(${\beta}$=-0.03, p=0.018) were significantly associated with TMD number by multiple regression analysis. Conclusions : Variables associated with TMD were bite lip and cheek, chewing gum, resting on hand, hard foods, and stress out factor. According to our findings, it is so important to teach good habits on oral health to the 3rd grade students in high school. Further prospective study should explore cause of TDM from those variables.

The aim of statistics education is to enhance statistical thinking. Variability is the key components of statistical thinking. The research has been reviewed preceding research about variability of data. Proceeding from what has been considered above, this research developed learning materials that investigated the concept of variability as it relates to Freudenthal's context by having students sort a particular context. The research is executed the case study evidently aimed at Junior High School 3rd Grade Student's Understanding of Variability. The study of variability in data can be an important start to reach a testing of statistical hypothesis; students reduce data and draw graphs by relating probability distribution to relative frequency and normal distribution. Thus, this study offers basic materials into developing both contents and methods of education need to consider with this sense of purpose held by students to achieve this goal.
The realistic counseling services of the science gifted high schools have been investigated in order to figure out the degree of student's satisfaction. For this purposes, questionnaires regarding the current status of school counseling were administered to 311 science gifted high school students. Data were analysed according to sex and grade level. The research results are as follows. First, gifted students received counseling 1~3times per year and for 30~60 minutes each time. Second, there were significant differences in the motivation of counseling among different grade level students; 1st grade students were counseled more voluntarily than the 2nd and 3rd grade students. Third, there were significant differences in the counseling issues among different grade level students. First grade students were mainly counseled with the issues of school achievement, but 2nd and 3rd grade students were counseled regarding career planning issues. Fourth, in terms of the effects of school counseling, most students perceived "average". Fifth, Students had high counseling needs for career planning. Finally, there were significant differences in the satisfaction of career counseling programs between boys and girls. as well as among different grade levels. Based on the results, students' voluntary involvement and confidence are needed to facilitate school counseling activity. Also, various career counseling programs, especially for the gifted girls, are needed.

The overall students has satisfied and been understood well with this module. The educators agreed to the practical aspects of this module in school setting. Conclusion : The above results implicated the importance of a continuous and systematic first aid education program among students. For effective first aid education, there needs a development of targeted educational materials for each grade student and training programs for educators.
In this study, it was purposed to investigate that the student's understading and usage of weather information for the students of elementary, middle and high school The questionaire of 20 questions of 5 categories which included how to get weather information, the understanding of reason for variation of weather elements, the abilities of reading weather map, understanding of weather forecast and the necessity and usefulness of weather map and clouds pictures of weather satellite were prepared and 2 classes of elementary school 5th grade each one class of 2nd and 3rd grade of middle school and 2 classes of high school were tested. followings were revealed in this study; 1) Students of all school are fond of TV watching to get weather information as they used to. 2) They think air temperatures is the most important weather elements and then rainfall. 5ut they seems to unknown the reason why weather elements are vary. 3) They seems to have poor ability of reading weather symbols in weather map and the distribution of air pressure systems. 4) They can read and understand about the reports of words on weather forecast, but most of them can't make weather forecast by the reading of weather map. 5) More than half of students think that the weather map is helpful and especially the cloud pictures from weather satellite is useful for usage of weather information.
To evaluate the status of the contact to lascivious computer programs and sexual attitude and behaviour by the grades of middle school boy students, the questionnaire survey was done on 715 students of five middle schools in Pusan and Kimhae area from December 15 to December 24, 1997. The data were analyzed by PC SAS; $X^2$ -test. The level of significance was 0.05. 404 students (56.5%) had a personal computer in their home. 516 students(72.2%) have experienced of using a computer program. 294(57%) of them usually played a game with computer. 514 students(71.9%) had experiences of the contact to a lascivious computer program, which increased with the grades of the students(p〈0.05). The first exposure to a lascivious program was when they were elementary school students in 24.6% of first grade middle school student, 13.8% of second grade, and 11.3% of 3rd grade students. 92% of the students was introduced to first contact through their friends. 63.7% of them watch the program at their friends home. The most common drives to contact to a lascivious programs were curiosity (53%). Sexual desire was a higher drive in third grade students (20.6%) than lower grades. After contacting to a computer lascivious program, desire of masterbation was more frequent in lower grade students. and feeling disgust was more frequent in higher grade students (p〈0.05). Frequence of masterbation or sexual intercourse was higher in high grade students(p〈0.05) In conclusion, distribution and popular use of computer attributes to the increased exposure to lascivious programs and lowering the age of first exposure. There was the difference according to the grades in the feeling and sexual behaviour after contacting to computer lascivious program. Appropriate methods to protect young students to contact a lascivious program should be sought. The use of computer should be educated in elementary school students accompanied by proper sex education.
In this study, ionic compound in the science textbooks developed under the 2009 revised national curriculum were analyzed in terms of the scientific concept and model description and the student understanding through the questionnaires. IEA's Third International Mathematics and Science Study(TIMSS) from 1994-1995 has placed Korea as one of the top three countries among 45 countries that participated in the study in mathematics achievement for the 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th grade students. While the test scores were excellent, the study also showed that mathematics education in Korea needed improvements in student attitudes, technology incorporation, and gender difference in achievement. An analysis of the a survey conducted as part of the mathematics curriculum research program showed that very little progress has been made in these areas for the past 5 years. Moreover, the progressively declining attitudes towards mathematics for high school students is a problematic phenomena for educators as we believe that mathematics is becoming even more important in an information technology based society. A comparison between the top three TIMSS scoring countries (Korea, Singapore, and Japan) and low scored country (U.S.) was made In this paper. We also compare some of problematic results from TIMSS to those from EERI Curriculum Study implemented in 2000. The study shows that simply using technology and improving student attitudes do not necessarily guarantee improved performance. Most of educators agree that potential for technology is great for both changing the way students learn and improving the attitudes of students. However, improperly implemented technology can hinder rather than help the educational process. Therefore, as we begin to implement and use more and moore technology, it is critical to develop the proper curriculum, training for teachers and research programs to track the progress and to make the necessary adjustments to provide the best possible education for our students. Another TIMSS result shows for all four grade levels(3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th), Korea shows the highest gender difference among all the participating countries. TIMSS data such as this is valuable to benchmark all types of information to get a better understanding about what is happening for improvements in math curriculum in Korea. More research needs to be done in comparing the performance of Korean mathematics education to understand both the strengths and weaknesses of our curriculum so that improvements can be made.
