The concern on environmental quality makes the landscape analysis more important than before ever. For the landscape analysis, selection of viewpoint is one of most important stage. Because of its subjectiveness, the conventional viewpoint selection method often missed some viewpoints of importance. The purpose of this study is to develop a viewpoint selection method for landscape analysis using GIS data and techniques. During the viewpoint selection process, spatial and attribute data from several GIS systems were hired. Query and overlay methods were mainly adapted for analysis to find out meaningful viewpoints. The 3D simulation analysis on DEM(Digital Elevation Model) was used for every selected viewpoint to examine wether the view target is screened out or not. Application study at a sample site showed some omissions of good viewpoints without any screening. It also exhibited the possibility to reduce time and cost for the viewpoint selection process of landscape analysis. For the progress of applicability, GIS data analysis process have to be improved and more modules such as automatic screening analysis system on selected viewpoint have to be developed.
In this paper, we present a prism-based mesh culling method to improve effectiveness of continuous collision detection which is a major bottleneck in a simulation using polygonal mesh models. A prism is defined based on two matching triangles between a sequence of times m a polygonal model. In order to detect potential colliding set(PCS) of prism between two polygonal models in a unit time, we apply the visibility test based on the occlusion query to two sets of prisms which are defined from two polygonal models in a unit time. Moreover, we execute the narrow band culling based on SAT(Separating Axis Test) to define potential colliding prism pairs from PCS of prisms extracted as a result of the visibility test. In the SAT, we examine one axis to be perpendicular to a plane which divides a 3D space into two half spaces to include each prism. In the experiments, we applied the proposed culling method to pairs of polygonal models with the different size and compared the number of potential colliding prism pairs with the number of all possible prism pairs of two polygonal models. We also compared effectiveness and performance of the visibility test-based method with those of the SAT-based method as the second narrow band culling. In an experiment using two models to consist of 2916 and 2731 polygons, respectively, we got potential colliding prism pairs with 99 % of culling rate.

Many studies have been conducted to reduce environmental pollution by ships and reduce fuel consumption. As part of this effort, research on power conversion systems through DC distribution systems that link renewable energy with conventional power grids has been pursued as well. The diode rectifiers currently used include many lower harmonics in the input current of the load and distort supply voltage to lower the power quality of the whole system. This distortion of voltage waveforms causes the malfunctions of generators, load devices and inverter pole switching elements, resulting in a large number of switching losses. In this paper, a controller is presented to improve DC output waveforms, the input Power Factor and the THD of an AFE type PWM rectifier used for PLL. DC output voltage waveforms have been improved, and the input Power Factor can now be matched to the unit power factor. In addition, the THD of the input power supply has been proven by simulation to comply with the requirements of IEEE Std514-2014.
A study was conducted to find mechanism and spray characteristics of a mini-sprinkler with downward spray to develop a new design type to be able to prevent drop water. The experiments were executed in a plastic greenhouse to minimize the effect of the wind. Data was collected at five different operation pressures and at 4 different raiser heights. Spray characteristics of the sprinkler such as effective radius, effective area, mean application depth, absolute maximum application depth, effective maximum application depth and coefficient of variation were determined. In order to analyze the mechanism and packing supporter of sprinkler, the numerical simulation using ABAQUS was performed. The optimum pressure for preventing drop water was determined.
Purpose : For the research of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), fast neutrons generated from the MC-50 cyclotron with maximum energy of 34.4 MeV in Korea Cancer Center Hospital were moderated by 70 cm paraffin and then the dose characteristics were investigated. Using these results, we hope to establish the protocol about dose measurement of epi-thermal neutron, to make a basis of dose characteristic of epi-thermal neutron emitted from nuclear reactor, and to find feasibility about accelerator-based BNCT. Method and Materials : For measuring the absorbed dose and dose distribution of fast neutron beams, we used Unidos 10005 (PTW, Germany) electrometer and IC-17 (Far West, USA), IC-18, ElC-1 ion chambers manufactured by A-150 plastic and used IC-l7M ion chamber manufactured by magnesium for gamma dose. There chambers were flushed with tissue equivalent gas and argon gas and then the flow rate was S co per minute. Using Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) code, transport program in mixed field with neutron, photon, electron, two dimensional dose and energy fluence distribution was calculated and there results were compared with measured results. Results : The absorbed dose of fast neutron beams was $6.47\times10^{-3}$ cGy per 1 MU at the 4 cm depth of the water phantom, which is assumed to be effective depth for BNCT. The magnitude of gamma contamination intermingled with fast neutron beams was $65.2{\pm}0.9\%$ at the same depth. In the dose distribution according to the depth of water, the neutron dose decreased linearly and the gamma dose decreased exponentially as the depth was deepened. The factor expressed energy level, $D_{20}/D_{10}$, of the total dose was 0.718. Conclusion : Through the direct measurement using the two ion chambers, which is made different wall materials, and computer calculation of isodose distribution using MCNP simulation method, we have found the dose characteristics of low fluence fast neutron beams. If the power supply and the target material, which generate high voltage and current, will be developed and gamma contamination was reduced by lead or bismuth, we think, it may be possible to accelerator-based BNCT.
In this study we have attempted to evaluate the technical feasibility of "BB-HY", which is depleted gas reservoir as a gas storage field, using the commercial compositional simulator "ECLIPSE 300". The "BB-HY" reservoir has an initial gas in place of 143 BCF which is relatively small, and its porosity and permeability are 19.5% and 50 md, respectively. For "BB-HY" gas reservoir, we have performed a feasibility analysis by investigating the cushion gas (or working gas), converting time to gas storage field, operation cycle, number of wells and the possible application of horizontal borehole as well. From the simulation results, it was found that the amount of cushion gas in "BB-HY" reservoir is required at least 50% of IGIP in order to operate stably as gas storage field. When one produces gas for longer time and hence the remaining gas in reservoir is less than optimal cushion gas, no technical problem was occurred as long as additional cushion gas is injected up to the optimal cushion gas. In the case of changing the operation cycle into producing gas for three months during winter season from producing five months, the result shows that either the cushion gas should be greater than 60% or the more number of wells should be drilled. Meanwhile, from the results of sensitivity analysis for the number of wells, in cases of operating six or eight vertical wells, the stable reproduction of the injected gas can not be possible in "BB-HY" gas reservoir since the remaining gas in reservoir is increased. Therefore, in "BB-HY" reservoir, at least ten vertical wells should be drilled for the stable operation of gas. This time, when three horizontal wells are additionally drilled including the existing two vertical wells, it was found that the operation of injection and reproduction of gas is relatively stable in "BB-HY" gas reservoir.
Smart Factory is different from existing factory automation in that it aims to produce personalized products with minimum time and cost through ICT. However, previous researches, not from consumers but from product suppliers, have focused on technology trends and technology application methods. In order for Smart Factory to be successful, it must go beyond supplier-focus to meet the needs of consumers. In this study, we surveyed the purchase intention of the personalized product manufactured by smart factory. Influencing factors of purchase intention were drawn as consumers' need for uniqueness, innovativeness, need for touch, and privacy concern, based on previous research. As results of data analysis, it was confirmed that respondents were willing to purchase personalized products, and that consumers' need for uniqueness, innovativeness, and need for touch had a significant impact on purchase intention of personalized products. Our findings can be summarized as follows. First, Consumers' need for uniqueness was found to have positive effects(${\beta}=0.168$) on purchase intention of personalized products. The desire to differentiate themselves from others will be reflected in their personalized products. Therefore, consumers with a higher desire for uniqueness tend to be more willing to purchase personalized products. Second, consumer innovativeness was found to have positive effects(${\beta}=0.233$) on purchase intention of personalized products. Personalized shoes suggested in this study is a new type of personalized product that is manufactured by the latest information and communication technologies such as multi-function robots and 3D printing. Therefore, consumers seeking innovative new experiences are more willing to purchase personalized products. Third, need for touch was found to have positive effects(${\beta}=0.299$) on purchase intention of personalized products. In a smart factory environment, prosuming participation is given to consumers. If consumers participate in the product development process and reflect their requirements on the product, they are expected to increase their purchase intention by virtually satisfying the need for touch. Fourth, privacy concern was found to have no significantly related to purchase intention of personalized products. This is interpreted as a willingness to tolerate the risk of exposing personal information such as home address, telephone number, body size, and preference for consumers who feel highly useful in personalized products.

Currently, various types of TDM (Transportation Demand Management) policies are being studied and implemented in an attempt to overcome the limitations of supply oriented policies. In this context, this paper addressed issues of effectiveness and possible domestic implementation of the HOT lane. The possible site of implementation selected for this simulation study is part of the Kyung-bu freeway, where a dedicated bus lane is currently being operated. Minimum length of distance required in between interchanges and access points of the HOT lane for vehicles to safely enter and exit the lane, and traffic management policies for effectively managing the weaving traffic trying to enter and exit the HOT lane were presented. A 5.2km section of freeway from Ki-heuing IC to Suwon IC and a 8.3km section from Hak-uei JC to Pan-gyo JC have been selected as possible sites of implementation for the HOT lane, in which congestion occurs regularly due to the high level of travel demand. VISSIM simulation program has been used to analyze the effects of the HOT lane under the assumption that one-lane HOT lane has been put into operation in these sections and that the lane change rate were in between 5% to 30%. The results of each possible scenario have proven that overall travel speed on the general lanes have increased as well by 1.57~2.62km/h after the implementation of the HOT lane. It is meaningful that this study could serve as a basic reference data for possible follow-up studies on the HOT lane as one effective method of TDM policies. Considering that the bus travel rate would continue increase and assuming the improvement in travel speed on general lanes, similar case study can be implemented where gaps between buses on bus lane are available, as a possible alternative of efficient bus lane management policies.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the patterns of the stress distribution within the reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) double bundles in response to an anterior tibial load and rotatory load at $45^{\circ}$ flexed knee model by use of a 3-dimensional finite element analysis (FEM). Materials and Methods: The $0^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ flexed 3-D knee model were reconstructed based on the high resolution computed tomography (CT) images from the right knee of a healthy male subject. To simulate double bundle ACL reconstruction, in $0^{\circ}$ analytic model, four 7 mm diameter tunnels were created at the center of each anteromedial (AM) and posterolateral (PL) footprints on the femur and tibia. The grafts were inserted into the corresponding bone tunnels and then reconstructed knee model was flexed to $45^{\circ}$. As a next step, the 5 mm anterior tibial load and internal rotational load of $10^{\circ}$ were applied on the final Computer aided design (CAD) model. And then stress patterns of each bundle were assessed using a finite element analysis. Results: In response to the 5 mm of anterior tibial load, the AM bundle showed increased stresses around the tibial and femoral attachment sites; especially in the anterior aspect of the bundle. In the PL bundle, the highest stress concentration was also noticed on the anterior aspect of the bundle. Under $10^{\circ}$ internal rotational load, the stress concentration was predominant around the anterior aspect of the tibial attachment site within the AM bundle. The PL bundle also showed highest stress concentration on the anterior aspect of the bundle. Conclusion: Although the stress patterns were not identical among the AM and PL bundle, there were common trends in the stress distribution. The stress concentration was predominant on the anterior aspect of both bundles in response to the anterior tibial load and rotatory load.
