  • In this work, we demonstrated a low noise and high linearity low noise amplifier (LNA) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) with novel active bias circuit for LTE applications. The device technology used in this work relies on a process involving a $0.25-{\mu}m$ GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT). The LNA MMIC with a novel active bias circuit has a small signal gain of $19.7{\pm}1.5dB$ and output third order intercept point (OIP3) of 38-39 dBm in the frequency range 1.75-2.65 GHz. The noise figure (NF) is less than 0.58 dB over the full bandwidth. Compared with the characteristics of the LNA MMIC without using the novel active bias circuit, the OIP3 is improved about 2-3 dBm. The small signal gain and NF showed no significant change after using the active bias circuit. The novel active bias circuit indeed improves the linearity performance of the LNA MMIC without degradation.

  • This work investigates a thermomechanical bending analysis of functionally graded sandwich plates by proposing a novel quasi-3D type higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT). The mathematical model introduces only 5 variables as the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Unlike the conventional HSDT, the present one presents a novel displacement field which includes undetermined integral variables. The mechanical properties of functionally graded layers of the plate are supposed to change in the thickness direction according to a power law distribution. The core layer is still homogeneous and made of an isotropic ceramic material. The governing equations for the thermomechanical bending investigation are obtained through the principle of virtual work and solved via Navier-type method. Interesting results are determined and compared with quasi-3D and 2D HSDTs. The influences of functionally graded material (FGM) layer thickness, power law index, layer thickness ratio, thickness ratio and aspect ratio on the deflections and stresses of functionally graded sandwich plates are discussed.

  • According to the national building status, there are a total of 2.89 million buildings that are over 30 years old after completion, and the number is increasing by more than 70,000 to 80,000 buildings every year. As a result, the demand for demolition works is also increasing, and more than 3 to 4 collapse accidents occur steadily every year during demolition work. Major causes of accidents include non-compliance with plans, negligence of on-site supervisors, and failure to secure structural safety. Due to the strengthening of the Severe Disaster Punishment Act, there is growing interest in the demand for secure management of collapse detection during demolition works. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the applicability of real-time safety monitoring systems using a total station capable of 3D automatic displacement measurement in building demolition work for securing structural safety by the load changes during the demolition process.

  • This paper deals with 3 Dimensional(3D) analysis of magnetic flux density of High Temperature Superconducting(HTS) motor using 3D Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Network (EMCN). When the Finite Element Method (FEM) is applied to an analysis of 3D models, it takes much time to the pre-process work required for 3D modeling and to solve the differential equation. Compare with 3D FEM, the result of 3D EMCN by using the magnetic resistance and magnetomotive force is exact and rapid. The accuracy of 3D EMCN is verified by comparing the 3D EMCN analysis with that of 3D FEM in HTS motor.

  • Geographic Information System (GIS) is a method of expressing objects in a space. Currently, many research and developments are being conducted to implement 3D GIS. In previous studies, 3D GIS applications have been developed using Unity 3D, which is a 3D engine with good development accessibility. However, it requires manual work to enter various formats of GIS data, making it difficult to immediately reflect GIS data that change frequently. To improve this problem, this study developed a method for automatically reading and outputting various GIS data from the existing Unity 3D application. The improved application could read Satellite Images, Aerial Photographs, Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and Shapefiles with no transformation through other commercial programs, and they could be implemented as 3D objects. This study automated the GIS data conversion which had been manually performed and as a result, the manpower, time, and resources required for 3D GIS implementation can be saved.

  • Practical use degree of Motion Capture technology is low in korea game market which did growth of MMORPG putting first. However, that is dance game or FPS, sports game genre is magnified. Therefore, practical use degree of Motion Capture technology is increasing. And, need various research to take advantage of Motion Capture technology effectively. Studied 3D game character animation manufacture pipe line for it. Characteristic of this manufacture pipe line is work classification, correction of two times, Biped format all-in-one to progress Motion Capture technology and keyframe-animation work at the same time. Also, manufacture pipe line that is consisted of this constituent has economic performance, extensity, systemicity.

  • Disc harrow-type composite working implements of tractors are able to work almost 15km/hr. Soil reversing and plowing of agricultural fields are thereby faster than the existing rotavator speed of 2.5 km/h. In Korea, its supply process is being delayed because of the traditional tillage method of rotavator plowing operations. To develop products suitable for the domestic environment, an analysis and inspection was performed on the products of advanced specifications. 3D modeling was performed on main parts and frames using 3D scanner.

  • The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been implementing the 'Local Government 3D Contents Production Support Project' since 2010 to foster the 3D contents industry and secure high-quality 3D contents of local governments. This is part of national support for securing 3D media contents of local governments. In particular, stereo-scopic 3D animation is in the spotlight as media contents appropriate for simultaneous implementation of pleasure of narrative and high-level of presence to promote tourism resources of local governments. But existing stereo-scopic 3D animation-related studies are mostly concentrated in three dimensional effect expression for particular scenes or theater. Therefore, this study extracted elements required for storytelling planning by analyzing production cases of stereo-scopic 3D animation using tourism resources of local governments which have been recognized for a high quality of work.

  • In this paper we deal with the problem of recovering 3-D motion and structure from a time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. A great deal has been done on this topic, most of which has concentrated on finding necessary and sufficient conditions for there to be a unique 3-D solution corresponding to a given 2-D motion. While previous work provides useful theoretical insight, in most situations the known algorithms have turned out to be too sensitive to be of much practical use. It appears that any robust algorithm must improve the 3-D solutions over time. As a step toward such algorithm, we present a method for recovering 3-D motion and structure from a given time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. The surface of the object in the scene is assumed to be locally planar. It is also assumed that 3-D velocity vectors are piecewise constant over three consecutive frames (or two snapshots of flow field). Our formulation relates 3-D motion and object geometry with the optical flow vector as well as its spatial and temporal derivatives. The linearization parameters, or equivalently, the first-order flow approximation (in space and time) is sufficient to recover rigid body motion and local surface structure from the local instantaneous flow field. We also demonstrate, through a sensitivity analysis carried out for synthetic and natural motions in space, that 3-D motion can be recovered reliably.
