  • This paper presents a now approach to the design of intelligent contorl system for track vehicle system using fuzzy logic based on neural network. The proposed control scheme uses a Gaussian function as a unit function in the neural network-fuzzy, and back propagation algorithm to train the fuzzy-neural network controller in the framework of the specialized learning architecture. Moreover, We develop a Windows 95 version dynamic simulator which can simulate a track vehicle model in 3D graphics space. It is proposed a learning controller consisting of two neural network-fuzzy based of independent reasoning and a connection net with fixed weights to simply the neural networks-fuzzy. The dynamic simulator for track vehicle is developed by Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by Silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics. The performance of the proposed controller is illustrated by simulation for trajectory tracking of track vehicle speed.

  • For prompt gamma ray imaging for biomedical applications and environmental radiation monitoring, we propose herein a multiple-scattering Compton camera (MSCC). MSCC consists of three or more semiconductor layers with good energy resolution, and has potential for simultaneous detection and differentiation of multiple radio-isotopes based on the measured energies, as well as three-dimensional (3D) imaging of the radio-isotope distribution. In this study, we developed an analytic simulator and a 3D image generator for a MSCC, including the physical models of the radiation source emission and detection processes that can be utilized for geometry and performance prediction prior to the construction of a real system. The analytic simulator for a MSCC records coincidence detections of successive interactions in multiple detector layers. In the successive interaction processes, the emission direction of the incident gamma ray, the scattering angle, and the changed traveling path after the Compton scattering interaction in each detector, were determined by a conical surface uniform random number generator (RNG), and by a Klein-Nishina RNG. The 3D image generator has two functions: the recovery of the initial source energy spectrum and the 3D spatial distribution of the source. We evaluated the analytic simulator and image generator with two different energetic point radiation sources (Cs-137 and Co-60) and with an MSCC comprising three detector layers. The recovered initial energies of the incident radiations were well differentiated from the generated MSCC events. Correspondingly, we could obtain a multi-tracer image that combined the two differentiated images. The developed analytic simulator in this study emulated the randomness of the detection process of a multiple-scattering Compton camera, including the inherent degradation factors of the detectors, such as the limited spatial and energy resolutions. The Doppler-broadening effect owing to the momentum distribution of electrons in Compton scattering was not considered in the detection process because most interested isotopes for biomedical and environmental applications have high energies that are less sensitive to Doppler broadening. The analytic simulator and image generator for MSCC can be utilized to determine the optimal geometrical parameters, such as the distances between detectors and detector size, thus affecting the imaging performance of the Compton camera prior to the development of a real system.

  • Currently used 3D models, which are mostly focused on visualization of 3D objects and lack topological structure, have limitation in being used for 3D spatial analyses and applications. However, implementing a full topology for the indoor spatial objects is less practical due to the increase of complexity and computation time. This study suggests an alternative method to build a 3D indoor model with less complexity using a spatial DBMS. Storing spatial and nonspatial information of indoor spaces in DB tables enables faster queries, computation and analyses. Also it is possible to display them in 2D or 3D using the queried information. This study suggests a 2D-3D hybrid data model, which combines the 2D topology constructed from CAD floor plans and stored in a spatial DBMS and the 3D visualization functionality. This study showed the process to build the proposed model in a spatial DBMS and use spatial functions and queries to visualize in 2D and 3D. And, then, as an example application, it illustrated the process to build an indoor evacuation simulator.

  • Recently, realistic contents using virtual reality and augmented reality are attracting attention as learning aids. 3D-based contents have the advantage of being able to observe and experience objects from various angles than 2D-based contents shown on a flat surface. In this paper, we propose a content design based on 3D model for Arduino learning in a virtual environment. The Arduino board and sensor were implemented using Blender, and a 3D-based simulator environment was constructed using the Unity engine. The proposed content uses the Arduino board and sensor implemented in 3D so that learners can easily experience the working principle of Arduino and the coding process.

  • The goal of a simulator is to provide for the testing of new technologies and to facilitate the eventual transfer of these technologies to the applications. In the Development Step, Simulation can provide a cost effective alternative to expensive and hazardous field testing. In this paper, a 3D simulator is developed to test UUV navigation system bated on RVC model. The simulation system consists of a environment manager, objects and a 3D viewer. Objects are modeling all physical elements such as map, obstacle and UUV which reside in a underwater environment. Those objects are created and initialized by environment manager. The environment manager plays the role of intermediator which allows created objects to interact with each other, and transmits information on the objects to 3D viewer. The 3D viewer analyzes the received information and visualizes 3D graphic by using OpenGL primitives.

  • Although we look at objects as 2D images through our eyes, we can reconstruct the shape and/or depth of objects. In order to realize this ability using computers, it is required that the method which can estimate the 3D features of object from 2D images. As feature which represents 3D shapes effectively, three dimensional vector autoregressive model is pro- posed. If this feature is associated other feature of 2D shape, then above aim might be achieved. On the other hand, as feature which represents 2D shapes, quasi moment features is proposed. As the first step of association of these features, we constructed real time simulator that computes both of two features concurrently from object data (3D curves) . This simulator can also rotate object and estimate the rotation The method using 3D VAR model estimates the rotation correctly, but the estimation by quasi moment features includes much errors. This reason would be that projected images are constructed by the points only, and doesn't have enough sizes to estimate the correct 3D rotation parameters.

  • Recently the construction of simulation environment is an important issue in all fields. In case of the training for operating machines such as airplanes or spaceships which cause a huge cost, simulators could be helpful to reduce the costs and training efforts by simulating real situations. When people get a driver's license, too many trainees have to wait for their turns because of the limited number of cars and the small space of training sites. To solve this problem, we have designed and developed the basic design for the simulators. We suggest the Computer 3D Simulation Model for a driver's practice. The concept of this simulator is from a 3D Racing-game which suits for a driving exercise. We provide users with handle-controlled simulation settings to let users feel reality as if they drive in real through this simulator. We also use a 'force-feedback' system which gives handle vibration when users collide against obstacles or exceed lanes. Users can be absorbed in the simulation program and feel the sense of the real. This paper is the study about modeling the driving exercise model of 'computer 3D simulation', and producing and utilizing the simulator through this modeling.

  • This paper describes an effort to develop a simulator of Active Power Filter (APF) by three dimentional(3-D) space current co-ordinate. System current is represented by 3-D vector composed of three current components - active, reactive and distorted. %THD (%Total Harmonics Distortion) can be converted to height-angle of system current vector and power factor can be defined on 3-D space current co-ordinate without loss of generality. Current of APF and power system can be analyzed by 3-D visualization of current vector trajectory. So, the computer simulation results show that the proposed method by 3-D space current co-ordinate make up for disadvantages of performance evaluation on time / frequency domain.
