Effect of Graded Levels of Green Grass Supplementation on Nutrient Digestibility, Rumen Fermentation and Microbial Nitrogen Production in Cattle Fed Rice Straw Alone

  • On an absolute straw diet, the effect of graded levels of green grass supplementation on intake, nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation pattern and microbial N yield has been studied in cattle. Of the two trials conducted, 16 intact growing bulls of 304 kg weight and 32 months old, randomly allocated to four treatments in a completely randomized design in the 1st trial. While, in the, 2nd trial, four rumen cannulated local bulls of about 60 months old and 400 kg weight were used in a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design with four treatments in four periods. In both the trials, in addition to a mineral mixture, animals were supplemented with graded levels of naturally grown green grass of 0 kg (T1), 2 kg (T2), 4 kg (T3) or 6 kg (T4) to an ad libitum rice straw diet In the 1st trial, measurements were made on intake digestibility, growth rate, N balance and microbial N yield. While in the 2nd trial, in addition to the above parameters (except growth rate), rumen parameters were also studied. All levels of grass supplementation decreased the straw DM intake and increased the substitution rate. The rumen $NH_3-N$ concentration increased with the increase in grass level and ranges from 8-46 mg/l. The rumen pH and the rate and extent of DM degradability of straw were not affeceted by different rumen environments created by different levels of grass inclusion. At 48 h, straw DM degradability were 42, 44, 44 and 43% respectively for 0, 2, 4 and 6 kg grass supplementation daily. The whole gut digestibilities of DM, OM and ADF increased significantly (p < 0.05) only at 6 kg level daily. The microbial N yield was not affected by the levels of grass supplemented. The mean microbial N yield was 10 (SD 3.7) g/kg DOM apparently fermented in the rumen. The estimated minimum N loss and thus the maintenance requirement of tissue protein was 303 mg/kg $W^{0.75}/d$. All the animals lost live weight but 6 kg grass supplementation gave positive energy and N balances. Small amount of green grass supplementation is often recommended for optimization of rumen environment of a straw diet However, under the present experimental condition, no such beneficiary effect observed up to 6 kg (26% of DM intake) level of supplementation.

Ruminal Behavior of Protein and Starch Free Organic Matter of Lupinus Albus and Vicia Faba in Dairy Cows

  • Faba beans (vicia faba) (FB) and lupin seeds (Lupinus Albus) (LS) were dry roasted at three temperatures (110, 130, $150^{\circ}C$) for 15, 30 or 45 min to determine the effects of dry roasting on rumen degradation of crude protein and starch free organic matter ($^{PSF}OM$). Rumen degradation characteristics of $^{PSF}OM$ were determined by the nylon bag incubation technique in dairy cows fed 60% hay and 40% concentrate. Measured characteristics of $^{PSF}OM$ were undegradable fraction (U), degradable fraction (D), soluble fraction (S), lag time (T0), and the rate of degradation (Kd). Based on the measured characteristics, rumen availability ($RA^{PSF}OM$) and bypass $^{PSF}OM$ ($B^{PSF}OM$) were calculated. Dry roasting did not have a greater impact on rumen degradation characteristics of $^{PSF}OM$ (p>0.05). S varied from 32.1 (raw) to 30.0, 27.8, 30.8% (LS) and 15.4 (raw) to 14.4, 20.8, 20.9% (FB); D varied from 65.4 (raw) to 66.3, 66.9, 55.9% (LS) and 54.9 (raw) to 55.0, 51.0, 64.7% (FB); U varied from 2.6 (raw) to 7.3, 7.0, 7.7% (LS) and 29.7 (raw) to 30.6, 28.2, 14.4% (FB); Kd varied from 6.0 (raw) to 7.3, 7.0, 7.7% (LS) and 22.4 (raw) to 24.4, 21.1, 7.9% (FB); $B^{PSF}OM$ varied from 35.5 (raw) to 33.8, 36.6, 38.2% (LS) and 41.3 (raw) to 41.5, 39.7, 47.6% (FB) at 110, 130 and $150^{\circ}C$, respectively. Therefore dry roasting did not significantly affect $RA^{PSF}OM$, which were 353.7, 367.9, 349.6, 336.9 (g/kg DM) (LS) and 12.82, 127.0, 133.7, 117.1 (g/kg DM) (FB) at 110, 130 and $150^{\circ}C$, respectively. These results alone with our previously published reports indicate dry roasting had the differently affected pattern of rumen degradation characteristics of various components in LS and FB. It strongly increased bypass crude protein (BCP) and moderately increased starch (BST) with increasing temperature and time but least affected $^{PSF}OM$. Such desirable degradation patterns in dry roasted LS and FB might be beneficial to the high yielding cows which could use more dry roasted $^{PSF}OM$ as an energy source for microbial protein synthesized in the rumen and absorb more amino acids and glucose in the small intestine.

추작감자의 최아법에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Induction of Sprouting of Dormant Seed Potato in Fall Crop Production)

  • 우리나라 감자 춘하작물재배의 주장려품종이고 휴면기간이 긴 남작(Irish Cobbler)을 추작할때 효과적인 최아처리법을 구명하기 위하여, 대관령산종서를 고려대학교 농과대학 실험농장에시 춘작 증식하여 추작용종서로 사용하고, 1974 및 '75의 양년도에 걸쳐서 농대구내수음하 설치한 최아상(그림 1)에서 구당 60편의 3반복 난괴법으론 최아시험을 실시하고, 실험농장 포장에서 구당 1.8$m^2$(15주)의 3반복 난괴법으로 포장재배시험을 실시한 성적을 요약하면 다음과 같으며, 시험기간(1975년)중의 기상개요는 그림 2와 같았다. 1. 최아처리법과 발아(부표 1~7, 그림 3~5) (a) GA(Gibberellin)처리는 발아가 빨라서 7~8일 에 발아하여 최아소요일수가 약 10일이며, 발아가 균일하고, 부패가 적어 건전발아개체비율도 높으나, 편당발아본수가 3~4본으르 많고, 싹이 세장하며 발근이 없었다. (b) Ethrel처리는 발아가 훨씬 GA보다 늦어서 대체로 최아소요일수가 20~25일이며, 발아의 균일성과 부패및 건전발아개체비율에서 GA보다 고간 못하나, 편당발아본수가 1~2본으로 적고 싹이 단태건실하며 발근이 극히 양호하였다. (c) GA와 Ethrel의 혼합처리는 GA처리보다 1~2일 발아가 늦으나 싹은 비교적 건실하며, 그밖의 발아상은 GA처리와 거의 같았다. (d) Ethylene Chlorohydrin처리는 Ethrel처리와 거의 같은 발아상을 보이나 발아에 23~26일이 소요되고, 최아중의 부패도 많았다. (e) 6-Benzyladenine처리는 Ethrel처리처럼 싹이 단태건실하고 편당발아본수도 1~2본으로 적으며, 발근도 보이나 발아에 22~28일이 소요되고. 발아가 균일하지 못하며, 절단하여 처리할 경우에는 부패가 심해질 우려가 컸다. (f) 약제별 최적처리법은 다음과 같이 보였다. GA처리 : 절단서면 1~2ppm, 전형서면 2~5ppm에 60분처리. Ethrel처리 : 절단서면 500ppm, 전형서면 1000~2000ppm에 60분처리. GA와 Ethrel의 혼합처리 : 절단서면 GA 1~2ppm+Ethrel 250~500ppm, 전형서면 GA 5ppm+Ethrel 250~500ppm, 60분처리. 2. 처리법과 부패 (a) 18~24시간의 GA처리는 거의 완전한 부패를 초래하였다(표 2) (b) Ethylene Chlorohydrin처리는 심한 부패를 유발하고(표 2), 6-Benzyladenine처리도 많은 부패를 유발하는(부표 7) 경향이 보였다. (c) 처리중에 교반하여 표피가 갈리게 한것은 전량 부패하였다(부표 1) (d) 종서에 칼로 3-4곳에 자상을 내서 GA처리를 한 것은 발아조장의 효과가 없고, 부패를 조장하는 경향이 보였다(부표 1) 3. 상토와 발아(부표 1) (a) 최아상의 상토로써 부식질세토를 사용하였을 경우에는 사상의 경우보다 부패가 없고 발아도 양호 하였다. (b) 사상의 경우에는 세사보다 조사가 양호하였다. 4. 처리시기와 발아 (a) 7월 15일처리에 비하여 8월 24일처리의 경우에 Ethrel의 전형서처리에서는 발아가 4일 빨랐으나, Ethrel 절단서처리 및 GA처리에서는 발아가 거의 빨라지지 않았다(그림 9) (b) 처리시기가 늦어져서 휴면이 경과될수록 발아와 발근이 조장되는 경향이 보였다(부표 8) (c) 최아기간이 매우 고온건조하였던 경우(8월 14일처리)에는 심한 부패를 보였다(그림 10) 5. 처리법 및 정식기와 수량 (a) 정식기를 같게 할 경우의 수량은 Ethrel>GAㆍEthrel 혼합>GA 처리의 순위로서 정식당시의 싹의 건실도 및 발근상태와 깊은 관련이 있어보였다. Ethylene Chlorohydrin처리는 포장결주가 많아서 수량이 적었다(그림 11) (b) 처리기를 같게 하여 정식기가 GA보다 Ethrel 처리가 15일 늦어 질 경우에는 Ethrel이 GA처리보다 감수경향을 보였다(부표 10) (c) 어느 처리에서나 정식기가 빠를수록 증수되는 경향이 보였다(부표 10) (d) GA처리 조식의 경우에는 고간 도장하는 경향이 보였으나, 기타처리 및 GA처리라도 만식의 경우에는 도장이 보이지 않았다(그림 12)

Effect of Dietary Grape Pomace Fermented by Saccharomyces boulardii on the Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility and Meat Quality in Finishing Pigs

  • Fifty-six [(Duroc${\times}$Yorkshire)${\times}$Landrace] pigs with an average initial BW of 19.3${\pm}$0.17 kg were used in this 15-wk growth experiment to investigate the effects of grape pomace fermented by Saccharomyces boulardii on pig growth performance, nutrient digestibility and quality attributes of pork. Pigs were allotted to 2 dietary treatments (7 replications) based on their initial BW in a randomized complete block design. The experimental treatments were: i) control (CON; basal diet), ii) FGPP (CON+30 g/kg fermented grape pomace product). Dietary FGPP improved (p<0.05) average daily gain (ADG), coefficient apparent total tract digestibility (CATTD) of dry matter (DM) and nitrogen (N) during 35-70 d of the experiment. Similarly, pigs fed the FGPP supplemented diet had a higher N digestibility (p<0.05) in the finisher phase (day 71-105). Dietary FGPP increased (p<0.05) the marbling score, the redness ($a^*$) and yellowness ($b^*$) values, as well as the anti-oxidative ability (lower TBARS). The inclusion of FGPP reduced palmitic acid (C:16:0), stearic acid (C:18:0), arachidic acid (C:20:0) and SFA levels (p<0.05) in subcutaneous fat. An increased (p<0.05) linoleic acid (C18:2n6), total PUFA and PUFA/SFA ratio were observed in the FGPP group. Dietary FGPP supplementation decreased the arachidic acid (C:20:0) level in longissimus muscle (LM). In conclusion, dietary inclusion of FGPP at the level of 30 g/kg improved the growth performance, nutrients digestibility and altered the fatty acid pattern in the subcutaneous fat as well as some attributes of pork meat.

노년 여성 레포츠 점퍼에 대한 만족도 및 형태적합성 연구 (A Study on Satisfaction and Formative Appropriateness of Leisure Sports Jumpers For Elderly Women)

  • We need to develop a target market for elderly women by increasing the ratio of functional apparel. The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for developing a Leisure Sports Jumper and improving the quality of life of clothing for female elderly consumers. This study reviewed the current situation on the production of the functional Leisure Sports Jumper for the elderly women in literature. For the experimental study, we selected Leisure Sports Jumpers from five apparel brands, and evaluated a sensory test on 20 subjects representing the average body shape of the elderly women aged from 65 to 75. After the first sensory test, we manipulated the patterns for samples of the Leisure Sports Jumper. In the second sensory test, visual and cognitive appropriateness of the Leisure sports jumpers were assessed by the elderly women. The results of the study were as follows: the Leisure Sports Jumper of brand 'C' showed the highest appropriateness in terms of neck, armholes, and sleeves among the 5 brands. The Leisure Sports Jumper of brands 'B' and 'D' showed the lowest appropriateness in the width of the armpits among the 5 brands. Except for the length of the Leisure Sports Jumper, the margin, location of the pocket, and armholes had the lowest score in the first test showing over 3.5 points.

한국 연근해에서 어획된 주요 12어종의 75 kHz에 대한 음향 반사 강도의 체장 의존성 (Fish length dependence of acoustic target strength for 12 dominant fish species caught in the Korean waters at 75 kHz)

  • Acoustic target strength (TS) of 12 commercially important fish species caught in the Korean waters had been investigated and their results were presented. Laboratory measurements of target strength on 12 dominant fish species were carried out at a frequencies of 75 kHz by single beam method under the controlled condition of the water tank with the 241 samples of dead and live fishes. The target strength pattern on individual fish of each species was measured as a function of tilt angle, ranging from $-45^{\circ}$ (head down aspect) to $45^{\circ}$ (head up aspect) in $0.2^{\circ}$ intervals, and the averaged target strength was estimated by assuming the tilt angle distribution as N ($-5.0^{\circ}$, $^15.0{\circ}$). The 75 to fish length relationship for each species was independently derived by a least - squares fitting procedure. Also, a linear regression analysis for all species was performed to reduce the data to a set of empirical equations showing the variation of target strength to fish length and fish species. An empirical model for fish target strength(TS, dB) averaged over the dorsal aspect of 158 fishes of 7 species and which spans the fish length(L, m) to wavelength(${\lambda}$, m) ratio between 6.2 and 21.3 was derived: TS: 27.03 Log(L)-7.7Log(${\kanbda}$)-17.21, ($r^2$=0.59).

  • 패션텍스타일 산업의 미래를 제시할 수 있는 패션텍스타일 전용 CAD 시스템의 개발은 디지털 기술의 발달과 함께 가속화되고 있다. 이러한 디지털 문화 기반의 구축은 패션텍스타일 산업에서도 고부가가치의 상품개발과 신속한 생산체제의 변화가 요구되며, 이런 욕구에 충족할 수 있는 전용 프로그램들이 개발되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 패션텍스타일의 변화와 디자인 시스템의 구성과 특징을 고찰하고 디지털 패션텍스타일 디자인 전개방법을 비교분석하였다. 또한 기존 그래픽프로그램과 차별화되어 개발되고 있는 창의적인 디지털 패턴디자인의 전개와 변형, 적합한 직물 텍스츄어의 표현, 3D모델링을 통한 시뮬레이션효과를 체계적으로 정립하였다. 패션텍스타일 CAD시스템의 활용을 디자인적 측면과 생산적인 측면으로 나누어 패션텍스타일 디자인 전용 CAD의 활용 가치를 높이는데 중점을 두었다.

중국 소수민족 묘족(苗族) 복식과 황평 납염 특성을 활용한 패션디자인 (Development of fashion design applying to costume and Huangping batik of the Chinese minority Miao)

  • The purpose of this study is twofold: First, to develop new sustainable design methods (aligned with ethnic elements and traditional culture) combined with three-dimensional digital clothing technology throughout the design process, which can be presented as guideline materials for various fashion designs to be developed in contemporary sensibilities. Second, it is the intention to produce creative fashion designs by incorporating the characteristics and methods of Miao's Huangping batik dyeing technique and to present various possibilities in the fashion design field. The overall design characteristics sought by Miao minority are in line with the complex terrain and the ecological and climatic conditions. Miaoist batik dyeing (registered as part of Chinese national intangible cultural heritage) features unique production methods and patterns. The study results are as follows. First, this attempt has enabled understanding of the national costume culture as Chinese Miao's traditional cultural heritage to be promoted, while the direction of contemporary design development using traditional elements has been presented. Second, the study demonstrated new and innovative expressions and styles relying on three-dimensional digital contouring technology and identified the possibility of developing various designs. Third, it was confirmed that the dyed batik pattern design created by the three-dimensional digital contouring technology could be recombined or expanded as digital printing to express the traditional ethnic designs in a practical manner utilizing digital printing techniques based on traditional characteristics.

물리탐사 기법들의 화학공법 모니터링 적용성 분석 (An Analysis on Applicability of Geophysical Exploration Methods to Monitoring Polymer-flooding)

  • 탄화수소 생산에서 화학공법은 폴리머 용액을 저류층에 주입함으로써 탄화수소의 생산량을 증대시키는 방법이다. 화학공법의 유용성을 파악하기 위해서는 저류층 내 폴리머 용액의 거동 양상을 모니터링하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 저류층 내 폴리머 용액과 유체 변화에 대한 모니터링의 가능성을 확인하기 위해, 저류층을 구성하고 있는 암석 및 유체의 종류, 포화도 등의 매개변수에 따른 탄성파 및 전기비저항 암석물리모델을 구성하고, 폴리머 주입에 따른 탄성파 및 EM 토모그래피의 반응을 계산하였다. 특히 전기비저항 암석물리모델 구성에서는 순수사암, 셰일질 사암, 사암셰일박리층 3가지의 서로 다른 저류층 암석을 고려하였다. 폴리머 용액의 농도는 가장 일반적으로 이용되는 2 wt%로 하고 담수를 이용한 경우와 염수를 이용한 경우로 나누어 분석하였다. 더 나아가, 화학공법에 대한 중성자검층 민감도 분석을 수행하였다. 이 논문에서 다루는 기법들은 탄화수소 저류층뿐만 아니라 지열 저류층 등의 모니터링에 있어서도 중요하게 적용될 것이다.

The Relationships between Plasma Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF)-1 and IGF-Binding Proteins (IGFBPs) to Growth Pattern, and Characteristics of Plasma IGFBPs in Steers

  • This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of IGFBPs in plasma of steers, and to profile the relationship between growth and plasma IGF-1 and IGFBPs with aging in Holstein steers. Four blots of IGFBP at molecular weights of 38-43, 34, 29-32 and 24 kDa bands were detected by western ligand blot assay using $^{125}I-IGF-1$. On the basis of immunoblotting with anti-bovine IGFBP-2 and -3 antiserums, we observed the band for IGFBP-2 at approximately 34 kDa, and the IGFBP-3 band was detected at 38-43 kDa and 34 kDa in adult steers and calves. The IGFBP-3 antiserum used on the blots exhibited significant cross-reactivity with 34 kDa IGFBP-2. Furthermore, the 38-43 kDa IGFBP-3 bands were reduced to a 36 kDa band after deglycosylation, whereas the 34 kDa IGFBP-2 was intact. The plasma IGF-1, IGFBP-3 and other IGFBPs showed stability throughout a whole day. The change in live weight was found to be positively correlated to the plasma IGF-1 concentration (r = 0.6801, n = 64, p<0.05) and plasma IGFBP-3 (r = 0.6321, n = 64, p<0.05), while inversely correlated to plasma IGFBP-2 (r = -0.2919, n = 64, p<0.05). Furthermore, plasma IGF-1 was positively correlated to plasma IGFBP-3 (r = 0.6191, p<0.001), but was not correlated to plasma IGFBP-2. The portion of IGFBP-2 for total IGFBPs in calves was higher than in adult steers (p<0.05) and was decreased with growth, whereas that of IGFBP-3 was increased with increased live weight (p<0.05). The ratio IGFBP-3 for IGFBP-2 (BP-3/BP-2) was increased with growing of liveweight. Therefore, the changes in plasma IGF-1 level with increased liveweight may be related to the changes in plasma IGFBP-3 level and IGFBP-2 may give an important role in anabolic action of IGF-1 with the growth of body during calfhood in Holstein steers.
