연결부 형태가 다른 두 가지 scallop 임플란트에서 경부 나사선 피치가 응력 분포에 미치는 영향 : 삼차원적유한요소분석 (Effects of Coronal Thread Pitch in Scalloped Implant with 2 Different Connections on Loading Stress using 3 Dimensional Finite Element Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 삼차원적 유한요소분석을 통하여 연결부 형태가 다른 두 가지 scallop 임플란트의 경부 나사선 피치가 응력 분포에 미치는 영향을 간접적으로 확인하고자 하였다. 4가지 경부 나사선 피치 (0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.7mm)를 갖는 scallop 임플란트를 두 가지 다른 연결부 형태 (platform matching connection, platform mismatching connection)로 지대주와 연결되는 유한요소모형을 설계하였다. 8개의 모든 모델에 100N의 하중을 수직 및 30도 경사 방향으로 인가하여, 임플란트, 지대주, 그리고 치조골에 가해지는 최대등가응력을 분석하였다. 유한요소분석결과 응력은 치밀골에 집중되었다. 작은 나사 피치가 설계된 platform mismatching connection 모델에서 수직 방향과 경사하중 시 최대등가응력이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 측정되었다. Platform matching connection 모델에서는 경사하중의 경우 0.6mm, 수직하중의 경우 0.4mm 나사 피치에서 가장 낮은 최대등가응력을 보였다. 따라서 scallop 임플란트에서 platform mismatching connection은 최대등가응력을 감소시키는 데 중요한 역할을 하며, 경부 나사 피치가 작을수록 최대등가응력이 감소되는 경향을 보임을 알 수 있었다.

Lumbar spine 의 뼈와 Interbody cage의 접촉면에서 기계공학적 민감성 고찰 (The Mechanical Sensitivity at Interfaces between Bone and Interbody Cage of Lumbar Spine Segments)

  • 뼈의 성장에 미치는 많은 요소들 중에서 implant의 상대적인 미세운동(relative micromotion)은 뼈의 implant와의 접합을 방해하는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 그런데 이러한 상대적인 운동 및 spinal stability에 직접적으로 영향을 주는 하중조건, spinal material의 물성치, spinal geometry 및 뼈와 implant의 접촉면에서의 마찰계수를 고려하기 위하여, 하나의 titanium interbody cage 가 삽입된 human lumbar segments (L4-L5)의 유한요소 모델이 개발되었다. 이러한 유한요소 모델의 해석을 통하여 상대적인 미세운동, Posterior의 수직적인 변위, von Mises 응력 및 마찰력이 예측되었다. Cancellous bone. annulus fibers 및 ligaments의 기계적인 물성치의 감소 또는 접촉면에서의 마찰계수의 감소는 상대적인 미세운동 (relative micromotion or slip distance)을 증가 시켰다. 접촉면에서의 normal force는 뼈의 밀도 (cancellous bone density) 가 감소하거나 접촉마찰계수가 증가하면 감소했다. 특히 하중조건에 있어서, compressive preload에 대한 torsion의 추가는 접촉면의 anterior부위에서 상대적인 미세운동을 증가 시켰다. 하지만 디스크면적이 증가할수록 상대적인 미세운동은 감소했다. 결론적으로, 접촉면의 기계공학적 거동 (Relative micromotion, stress response, posterior axial displacement and contact normal force)은 접촉면의 마찰계수 뼈의 밀도, 하중조건 및 노화에 따른 형상/물성의 변화에 매우 민감함을 보이고있다.

쾌속조형 듀라폼 성형체에서의 배치각 변화에 따른 주얼리주조모형의 형상요소변화 (Jewelry Model Cast Elements Evolution with Alignment Angle in DuraForm Rapid Prototyping)

  • We fabricated test samples containing various shape elements and surface roughness checking points for the jewelry cast master patterns by employing the 3D computer aided design (CAD), selective laser sintering (SLS) rapid prototype (RP) with the DuraForm powders. We varied the alignment angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $10^{\circ}$ at a given layer thickness of 0.08 and 0.1mm, respectively, in RP operation. Dimensions of the shape elements as well as values of surface roughness are characterized by an optical microscope and a contact-scanning profilometer. Surface roughness values of the top and vertical face increased as the alignment angle increased, while the other roughness values and shape elements variation were not depending on the alignment angle. The resolution of the shape realization was enhanced as the layer thickness became smaller. The minimum diameter of the hole, common in jewelry design, was 1.2 mm, and the shrinkage became 12% at the 1.6 mm-diameter hole, Our results implied that we face down the proposed design elements with $0^{\circ}$ alignment angle, and consider the shrinkage effect of each shape element in DuraForm RP jewelry modeling.

표면 임피던스 경계조건을 이용한 몰드변압기 Tie-plate 손실 최소화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Minimization of Tie-plate Loss of Cast Resin Transformer using Surface Impedance Boundary Condition)

  • In this paper, a tie-plate shape is optimized by using the numerical technique to reduce the stray load loss of the tie-plate which is a mechanical structure for assembling and supporting of the transformer core. The eddy current loss of the structure is calculated by an electromagnetic field FEM program and the results are compared with 4 different shapes of tie-plates. Since the thickness of the tie-plate is very thin, and the skin depth is very small, the number of FE elements for 3-D transformer model is too big to solve. So, the surface impedance boundary condition (SIBC) is used to reduce the system matrix size and its computing time. To verify the method a 2.5 MVA 22,900/380V distribution transformer is simulated using one objective function and three design variables with some constraints. The final optimized tie-plate has three slots of 6 mm width and 23 mm gap, and the loss is reduced by 75 %. Consequently, the proposed algorithm seems to be considerably applicable to electric machinery as well as power transformer.

Three-Phase Three-Switch Buck-Type Rectifier Based on Current Source Converter for 5MW PMSG Wind Turbine Systems

  • This paper proposes a three-phase three-switch buck-type converter as the MSC of a wind turbine system. Owing to a novel switching modulation scheme that can eliminate the unwanted diode rectifier mode switching state, the proposed system exhibits a satisfying ac voltage and current waveform quality and torque ripple up to the level of a typical current source rectifier even under a wide power factor operating range. The proposed system has been verified through simulations and HILS tests on a PMSG wind turbine model of 5MW/4160V. The proposed converter has been shown to provide a stator current THD of 3.9% and a torque ripple of 1% under the rated power condition. In addition to the inherent advantage of the reduced switch count of three-phase three-switch buck-type converters, the proposed switching modulation technique can make this converter a viable solution for the MSC placed inside of a nacelle, which is under severe volume, weight and mechanical vibration design limits.

자동차용(自動車用) 폐(廢) 라디에이터를 이용한 히트 파이프형 환기배열(換氣排熱) 회수기(回收器)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Development of Pulsating Heat Pipe type Waste Heat Recovery Ventilator Using an used Radiator for Vehicles)

  • 최근 실내 공기질에 대한 관심이 집중되고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 자동차용 폐 라디에이터를 재활용하여 진동형 히트 파이프 (pulsating heat pipe : PHP)타입의 환기열 회수기로 제작하고, 그 성능에 대해 평가하였다. 작동유체로는 R-134a를 사용하였으며, 충전율은 내부체적비($\varphi$) 30% 및 40%로 PHP를 제작하였다. PHP의 높은 열전달 성능으로 인해 컴팩트 열교환기로 제작가능하였으며, 기존의 환기열 회수기와 대등한 성능을 보여주었다. 또한 부하변동에 따라 유닛의 개수를 증감할 수 있는 Cassette type일 뿐 아니라, 자동차용 폐 열교환기의 재활용으로 높은 경제성과 효율성이 기대된다.

모바일 경계로봇의 시뮬레이션 기반 설계 (Simulation based Design of a Mobile Surveillance Robot)

  • An unmaned surveillance robot consists of rifle, laser receiver, thermal imager, color CCD camera, and laser illuminator. A human guard can be replaced with such a robot to take care dangerous surveillance tasks. Currently most of surveillance robots are mounded at a fixed post to take care of surveillance tasks. In order to watch blind areas, it is necessary to modify such a surveillance robot to become a mobile robot. In this paper, simulation based design procedure of mobile surveillance robot has been introduced. 3D CAD geometry model has been produced using Pro-Engineer. Required pen and tilt motor capacities have been analyzed using ADAMS inverse dynamics analysis. A target tracking and stabilization control algorithm of the mobile surveillance robot has been developed in order to stabilize the system from the motion of the vehicle which experiences the rough terrain. ADAMS-Matlab co-simulation has been also carried out to validate the proposed target tracking and stabilization algorithm.

  • An advanced design environment , which is based on adaptive and knowledge -based finite elements (INTELMESH), has been developed. Unlike other approaches, INTEMMESH incorporates the information about the object geometry as well as the boundary and loading conditions to generate an ${\alpha}$-priori finite element mesh which is more refined around the critical regions of the problem domain. INTEMMESH is designed for planar domains and axisymmetric 3-D structures of elasticity and heat transfer subjected to mechanical and thermal loading . It intelligently identifies the critical regions/points in the problem domain and utilize the new concepts of substructuring and wave propagation to choose the proper mesh size for them. INTEMMESH generates well-shaped triangular elements by applying trangulartion and Laplacian smoothing procedures. The adaptive analysis involves the intial finite elements analyze and an efficient ${\alpha}$-posteriori error analysis involves the initial finite element anal sis and an efficient ${\alpha}$-posteriori error analysis and estimation . Once a problem is defined , the system automatically builds a finite element model and analyzes the problem though automatic iterative process until the error reaches a desired level. It has been shown that the proposed approach which initiates the process with an ${\alpha}$-priori, and near optimum mesh of the object , converges to the desired accuracy in less time and at less cost. Such an advanced design/analysis environment will provide the capability for rapid product development and reducing the design cycle time and cost.

ITTC RoRo-Passenger 손상부위 침수유동 특성에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Dynamic Characteristics of the Flooding Water of the Damaged Compartment of an ITTC RoRo-Passenger)

  • When a ship is damaged and flooded, the motion of the damaged ship is significantly influenced by the flooding water dynamics. The flooding water in the damaged ship has been treated as a lumped mass under the quasi-static assumption in most of previous researches. To calculate the motion of damaged ship rigorously, it is necessary to analyze the coupled dynamics of flooding water. In this study, a series of numerical and experimental studies is conducted for the damaged part of ITTC RORO passenger. FLOW3D is used for investigating the feasibility of the state of the art CFD technique. An applicability of the coupled motion analysis of damaged ships can be confirmed by agreement between the numerical results and the model experiments. A CFD technique is considered for the numerical modeling of the dynamics of flooding water.

Performance Prediction & Analysis of MGT Co-generation System

  • As the distributed generation becomes more reliable and economically feasible, it is expected that a higher application of the distributed generation units would be interconnected to the existing grids. This new market penetration using the distributed generation technology is linked to a large number of factors like economics and performance, safety and reliability, market regulations, environmental issues, or grid connection standards. KEPCO, a government company in Korea, has performed the project to identify and evaluate the performance of Micro Gas Turbine(MGT) technologies focused on 30, 60kW-class grid-connected optimization and combined Heat & Power performance. This paper describes the results for the mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests of MGT on actual grid-connection under Korean regulations. As one of the achievements, the simulation model of Exhaust-gas Absorption Chiller was developed, so that it will be able to analyze or propose new distributed generation system using MGT. In addition, KEPCO carried out the field testing of the MGT Cogeneration system at the R&D Center Building, KEPCO. The field test was conducted in order to respond to a wide variety of needs for heat recovery and utilization. The suggested method and experience for the evaluation of the distributed generation will be used for the introduction of other distributed generation technologies into the grid in the future.
