  • The spent fuel rod extracting machine is automatically operated in high radioactive environment, so high reliability of operation is required. In this paper, to enhance the reliability of this machine by providing a close monitoring capability. a real time graphic simulation method is suggested. This method utilizes conventional IGRIP (Interactive Graphics Robot Instruction Program) 3D graphic simulation tool to visualize and simulate the 3D graphic model of this machine. Also, the dedicated protocol is defined for transmission of the operational data of the machine. The real time graphic simulation is realized by developing the socket module between a graphic workstation and a machine control computer through the TCP/IP network and by dividing the 3D graphic simulation GSL(Graphic Simulation Language) program as a small sized sub routine. The suggested method is implemented while automatically operating the rod extracting machine. The result of implementation shows that the real time 3D graphic simulation is well synchronized with the actual machine according to the operational data.

  • Within the paper an approach for the automatic extraction and reconstruction of buildings in urban built-up areas base on fusion of high-resolution satellite image and LIDAR data is presented. The presented data fusion scheme is essentially motivated by the fact that image and range data are quite complementary. Raised urban objects are first segmented from the terrain surface in the LIDAR data by making use of the spectral signature derived from satellite image, afterwards building potential regions are initially detected in a hierarchical scheme. A novel 3D building reconstruction model is also presented based on the assumption that most buildings can be approximately decomposed into polyhedral patches. With the constraints of presented building model, 3D edges are used to generate the hypothesis and follow the verification processes and a subsequent logical processing of the primitive geometric patches leads to 3D reconstruction of buildings with good details of shape. The approach is applied on the test sites and shows a good performance, an evaluation is described as well in the paper.

  • The IR camera and laser-based IR projector provide an effective solution for real-time collection of moving targets in RGB-D videos. Different from the traditional RGB videos, the captured depth videos are not affected by the illumination variation. In this paper, we propose a novel feature extraction framework to describe human activities based on the above optical video capturing method, namely spatial-temporal texture features for 3D human activity recognition. Spatial-temporal texture feature with depth information is insensitive to illumination and occlusions, and efficient for fine-motion description. The framework of our proposed algorithm begins with video acquisition based on laser projection, video preprocessing with visual background extraction and obtains spatial-temporal key images. Then, the texture features encoded from key images are used to generate discriminative features for human activity information. The experimental results based on the different databases and practical scenarios demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm for the large-scale data sets.

  • This paper devices a facial expression recognition method robust to overfitting using 2D-DCT and EHMM algorithm. In particular, this paper achieves enhanced recognition performance by setting up a large window size for 2D-DCT feature extraction and extracting the observation vectors of EHMM. The experimental results on the CK facial expression database and the JAFFE facial expression database showed that the facial expression recognition accuracy was improved according as window size is large. Also, the proposed method revealed the recognition accuracy of 87.79% and showed enhanced recognition performance ranging from 46.01% to 50.05% in comparison to previous approaches based on histogram feature, when CK database is employed for training and JAFFE database is used to test the recognition accuracy.

  • Recovery of acids from the waste etching solution of containing nitric, hydrofluoric and acetic acid discharged from silicon wafer manufacturing process has been attempted by using solvent extraction method. With EHA (2-Ethylhexlalcohol) for acetic acid and TBP(Tri-butly Phosphate) for nitic and hydrofluoric acid as extraction agent was carried on experiment to obtain the process design data in separation procedure. From the McCabe-Thiele diagram analysis, we obtained the optimum conditions of phase ratio(O/A) and stages to separate the each acid sequently from the mixture acids. The recovery yield was obtained 90% above for acetic acid from the acid mixtures, 90% above for nitric acid from acetic acid extraction raffinate and then 67% above for hydrofluoric acid from final extraction raffinate.

  • This paper presents a method for point-based 3D building reconstruction using LiDAR data and digital map. The proposed method consists of three processes: extraction of building roof points, identification of roof types, and 3D building reconstruction. After extracting points inside the polygon of building, the ground surface, wall and tree points among the extracted points are removed through the filtering process. The filtered points are then fitted into the flat plane using ODR(Orthogonal Distance Regression). If the fitting error is within the predefined threshold, the surface is classified as a flat roof. Otherwise, the surface is fitted and classified into a gable or arch roof through RMSE analysis. Based on the roof types identified in automated fashion, the 3D building reconstruction is performed. Experimental results showed that the proposed method classified successfully three different types of roof and that the fusion of LiDAR data and digital map could be a feasible method of modelling 3D building reconstruction.

  • This paper presents the development of depth extraction algorithm or the 3D Endoscopic Data using a stereo matching method and depth calculation. The purpose of other's algorithms is to reconstruct 3D object surface and make depth map, but a one of this paper is to measure exact depth information on the base of [cm] from camera to object. For this, we carried out camera calibration.

  • XML documents, which are becoming new standard for expressing and exchanging data in the Internet, don't have defined schema. It is not adequate to directly apply XML documents to the existing SQL or OQL. Research on how to extract Schema for XML documents and query language is going on actively. For users' query, the results could be too tony or too less. It Is important to give the users adequate results. This paper suggests the way to extract many levelized schema according to the frequency of element occurrence in XML documents. The Schema can be reduced or extended to correspond to the users' query more flexibly.

  • We propose a 3D modeling method for surface inspection of non-constant velocity moving object. 1'lie laser lines reflect tile surface curvature. We can acquire 3D surface information by analyzing projected laser lines on object. In this paper, we use multi-line laser to improve the single stripe method and high speed of single frame. Binarization and edge extraction of frame image were proposed for robust laser each line extraction. A new labeling method was used for laser line labeling. We acquired some feature points for image matching from the frame data and juxtaposed the frames data to obtain a 3D shape image. We verified the superiority of proposed method by applying it to inspect container's damages.
