S-대역 트랜스폰더용 주파수 체배기 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the Frequency Multiplier for S-band Transponder)

  • 본 논문에서는 KOMPSAT 3호의 S-대역 트랜스폰더용 주파수 체배기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 수신부 첫째 단의 국부 발진 신호(2008.8MHz)를 생성하는 108배 주파수 체배기의 구성은 X9 주파수 체배기, 1st X2 주파수 체배기, 2nd X2 주파수 체배기, 최종단의 X3 주파수 체배기로 구성된다. 측정 결과, 최종단의 X3 주파수 체배기의 출력주파수인 2008.8MHz에서의 8.17dBm의 출력전력과 -56.67dBc의 고조파 억압 특성을 보였다. 또한 -3dB 이상의 변환이득을 갖는 대역폭은 14MHz로 나타났다.

A Study on 3D Road Extraction From Three Linear Scanner

  • The extraction of 3D road network from high-resolution aerial images is still one of the current challenges in digital photogrammetry and computer vision. For many years, there are many researcher groups working for this task, but unt il now, there are no papers for doing this with TLS (Three linear scanner), which has been developed for the past several years, and has very high-resolution (about 3 cm in ground resolution). In this paper, we present a methodology of road extraction from high-resolution digital imagery taken over urban areas using this modern photogrammetry’s scanner (TLS). The key features of the approach are: (1) Because of high resolution of TLS image, our extraction method is especially designed for constructing 3D road map for next -generation digital navigation map; (2) for extracting road, we use the global context of the intensity variations associated with different features of road (i.e. zebra line and center line), prior to any local edge. So extraction can become comparatively easy, because we can use different special edge detector according different features. The results achieved with our approach show that it is possible and economic to extract 3D road data from Three Linear Scanner to construct next -generation digital navigation road map.

ISM 대역용 원통형 마이크로스트립 안테나에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cylindrical Microstrip Antenna for ISM Band Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 수직편파 수평면내 무지향성을 갖는 마이크로스트립 안테나를 연구하기 위하여 마이크로스트립 패치의 안테나 소자 4개를 원통형 표면상에 수평으로 배열하였다. 안테나의 중심주파수는 ISM 대역인 2.45GHz를 선택하였다. 이는 무선 LAN의 접속점, 무선 마이크의 기지국 등에서 적용이 가능하기 때문이다. 먼저 기본 계산식에서 기본 패치의 폭과 길이를 계산하고 2.5D와 3D 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션으로 최적화하였다. 제작된 안테나의 특성을 측정한 결과 동축케이블 포트의 임피던스는 51.915+j3.688 ${\Omega}$이며, 반사손실은 -31dB, 전압정재파비는 1.081로 나타났다.

  • Ennin is a Japanese buddhist monk who traveled Tang from Jun. 13, 838 A D. to Dec. 14, 847 A D. in lunar's calender and wrote lengthy diary through the travel. This diary contained not only his wandering and triumphs but also politics, economy, social culture, religion, diplomatic policies, militaries, geography, transportations and administrations. Furthermore, the beginning of his diary dated Jun. 13, to July 3, 838 A. D. is recorded in the manner of ship's logbook entries. Many terms of navigation and naval architecture appears on it. It is very important to understand them for study ancient ship and its navigation skill. This Per aims to invest the meaning of “no-a” obviously refers to some part of hull of the ship upon first step to annotate the terms which are appeared in the diary.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to evaluate performances of mobile personal robots. A set of performance measures is proposed and the corresponding evaluation methods are developed. Different from industrial manipulators, personal robots need to be evaluated with its mobility, navigation, task and intelligent performance in environments where human beings exist. The proposed performance measures are composed of measures for mobility including vibration, repeatability, path accuracy and so on, as well as measures for navigation performance including wall following, overcoming doorsill, obstacle avoidance and localization. But task and intelligent behavior performances such as cleaning capability and high-level decision-making are not considered in this paper. To measure the proposed performances through a series of tests, we designed a test environment and developed measurement systems including a 3D Laser tracking system, a vision monitoring system and a vibration measurement system. We measured the proposed performances with a mobile robot to show the result as an example. The developed systems, which are installed at Korea Agency for Technology and Standards, are going to be used for many robot companies in Korea.

The effect of 2D & 3D ionospheric model in interfrequency bias estimation

  • The radio signal in GNSS was intentionally designed with two frequencies in order to combat the dispersion error caused by trans-ionospheric propagation. By measuring the path delay independently at the two, widely spaced GPS frequencies, L1 & L2, the TEC along the path from satellite to receiver can be measured directly. The issue with dual frequency measurement of the ionosphere is the calibration of L1/L2 interfrequency biases. L1/L2 interfrequency biases are generated because physical electric signal paths of L1 and L2 circuits are different from each other for both satellites and receiver. Conventionally L1/L2 interfrequency bias is estimated and broadcasted by 2D ionospheric model. In this paper, we estimated IFB (interfrequency bias) by 2D & 3D ionospheric models including real time filter methods and compared the result of those and concluded the merit of 3D tomography model to recover the problem of 2D thin shell model. We confirmed our conclusion by experimental data.

광대역 피코셀 응용을 위한 다중양자우물 광전흡수 변조기 (A Multiple Quantum Well Electro-absorption Modulator for Broadband Picocell Applications)

  • 본 논문은 수직 구조와 고성능 특성을 가진 InGaAsP 다중양자우물(MQW; Multiple Quantum Well) 비대칭 페브리페롯 변조기(AFPM; Asymmetric Fabry-Perot Modulators)에 관한 연구결과로써 광대역 동작특성과 저가격이 요구되는 피코셀과 같은 차세대 광대역 무선통신 시스템에 응용 가능성을 제안하고자 한다. 이 AFPM은 <-2V 동작전압과 광섬유와 간단히 결합되어 결합손실이 3dB 내외인 장점과 -3dB 주파수응답 특성이 10GHz인 특성을 보이므로 광대역 및 다중 무선서비스가 요구되는 시스템에 적용 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 이를 위한 간단한 링크실험 결과 92dB/Hz의 SFDR(Spurious Free Dynamic Range)과 약 40dB의 IMD(Inter-Modulation Distortion)의 결과를 보였다.

  • Virtual colonoscopy is one of the Powerful tool for non-invasive colon examination and many in-vitro and in-vivo studies have shown its accuracy in Polyp or adenoma detection. But most of virtual colonoscopy requires high quality workstation and software and its cost is high to setup whole system. We developed PC-based 3D model creation and navigation program which has diverse functions. It can be easily installed to PC and connected to network system. The performance. when used as a virtual colonoscopy. is evaluated by calculating sensitivity of detection for the simulated polyp which is artificially made inside the Pig's colon and checked its clinical feasibility, Its total sensitivity is 76%. Grouping according to Polyps diameter, the sensitivity for detection of polyps 10 ㎜ or larger was 100%(40 of 40); 5.0-9.9 ㎜, 90.0(90 of 100): and smaller then 5 ㎜. 36.7%(22 of 60).

  • This paper presents a simple modeling system that constructs 3D models from an indoor cylindrical environment map using all of the available geometry of the interior structure such as vertical and horizontal lines and parallel and perpendicular planes. The indoor scene abstract model is created through this system and the navigation through the process of 3D reconstruction. Preliminary Analysis of Precise Point Positioning Performance Using Correction of Tropospheric Delay Gradient

  • In this paper, impacts of tropospheric delay gradient correction on PPP positioning performance were analyzed. A correction for tropospheric delay error due to the gradient was created and applied using external data, and reference station data were collected on a sunny day and a rainy day to analyze the GPS only dual-frequency PPP positioning results. As a result, on the sunny day, the convergence time was about 35 minutes and the final 3D position error was 10 cm, regardless of whether the correction for the tropospheric delay error by the gradient was applied. On the other hand, on the rainy day, the 3D position error converges only when the correction was applied, and the convergence time was about 34 minutes. Furthermore, the final 3D position error was improved from 30 cm to 10 cm. In addition, the analysis of the PPP by reference station location on the rainy day showed that the PPP positioning performance was improved when the correction was applied to a user located in an area where the weather changes.
