스커트 3D 모델의 기하학적 생성 방법 (A Geometrical Generation Method of the Skirt 3D Models)

  • This paper proposes a geometrical method for generating and draping the skirt 3D models. The method constructs a 3D basic skirt model using a truncated elliptical cone and generates the various skirt 3D models by controlling the elliptical cone. The B-Spline approximates the 3D drapes which change variously according to the angles and the textiles of the skirts. The mapping sources consist of the textile textures and the skirt 2D model. The 2D models are obtained by mapping the 3D skirt models to the 2D plane. The mapping sources allow us to map the textiles to the 3D skirts. We make the real skirts for the 6 kinds of angles and textiles. and investigate the data of their drape appearances. The investigated data are applied to the virtual skirts. Appearances of the virtual skirts are similar to those of the real.

가상의상 모델링 및 착장 소프트웨어를 위한 가이드라인 (Guidelines for Virtual Clothes Modeling and Draping Software - Based on the Analysis of Maya Cloth -)

  • This paper suggests guidelines for virtual clothes modeling and draping software suitable for clothes designers. We first analyze Maya Cloth, which is widely used in game and animation fields, and which has been adopted by Pad System as a 3D cloth draping system. We then discuss what functions and procedures would improve Maya Cloth to assist designers in being able to create the clothes they have conceptualized. While Maya Cloth has many good functions and features forvirtual cloth modeling and draping, it treats input 2D patterns as approximat and it creates 3D clothes by considering other factors such as the 3D body model. As a result, it is hard for clothes designers to control the shape of the 3D clothes by changing 2D patterns. Furthermore, Maya Cloth does not handle seamlines satisfactorily. We suggest that the following new features should be added to Maya Cloth : respecting the input 2D patterns, handling seamlines, and controlling the shape of the clothes in 3D space.

의복패턴을 위한 2.5D 맵핑 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of 2.5D Mapping System for Cloth Pattern)

  • 본 논문에서 구현한 2.5D 맵핑(mapping) 시스템은 다양한 질감과 패턴에 따른 패션 의상의 모델 사진 이미지를 그대로 살려 외각선 영역 위에 드레이핑(draping)함으로써 새로운 디자인을 창출할 수 있고, 직접 샘플이나 시제품을 제작하지 않고도 시뮬레이션만으로 의상 작품을 확인할 수 있다. 또한 원단 디자인과 최종 제품의 상태를 정확하게 예측할 수 있는 기능을 제공하며, 원단과 모델 사진 이미지의 데이터베이스 구축으로 쉽고 빠르게 드레이핑함으로써 패션 업계의 경쟁력 향상과 비용 절감 효과를 가져 올 수 있다. 2.5D 맵핑 시스템은 보다 자연스러운 드레이핑을 위하여 메쉬 워프 알고리즘 모듈, 명암 추출과 적용 모듈, 맵핑 영역 추출 모듈, 메쉬 생성과 변형 모듈, 2.5D 맵핑 모듈로 구성하여 구현하였다. 향후 연구과제는 2.5D 맵핑 시스템의 구현 기술을 기반으로 하여 3D 의복 기술과 3D 인체 구현 기술을 접목한 3D 패션 디자인 시스템을 연구하여 2.5D 맵핑 기술의 표현 한계를 극복할 계획이다.

  • This paper proposes an automatic method for generating and 3D draping the skirt 3D models. The method constructs a 3D basic model of the skirts using elliptic cylinder and generates the various skirt 3D models by controlling the ellipses of the basic model. B-Spline approximates the wrinkles around the ellipse for the various 3D draping changing according to designs and textiles. We make some real skirts and investigate appearances for their drapes. This paper simulates their appearances and obtains good results. Furthermore, adaptation of the skirt 3D model to a personal character implements realistic coordination of the various skirts.

3D 아바타를 이용한 드레이핑용 1/2 드레스폼 개발 (Development of 1/2 Dress Form for Draping using 3D Avatars)

  • This study develops 1/2 dress forms for draping. This study investigated the production status of domestic and foreign products in order to model their shape using CLO 3D. In addition, it developed torso-type and torso-crotch-type products that allowed for draping using a 3D printer. This study analyzed shape and size compared to developed ones after referring to the Size Korea 7th Survey data as well as seven domestic and foreign company websites. The results are follows. First, an investigation of the production status of the products for the size of most of the domestic ones (except K-4) indicated that the waist circumference was slimmer than Size Korea. Bust, waist, and hip circumferences ranged from 42.0 cm, 32.0 cm, and 45.0 cm - 49.0 cm, respectively, in Chinese products; 42.0 cm - 43.0 cm, 30.5 cm - 31.5 cm, and 46.0 cm - 46.5 cm in Japanese products; 43.0 cm, 35.0cm, and 46.5 cm in American products (Japanese body shape applied). Second, an avatar was produced on a 3D software with the average size of 20-24year-old women, and its file modified as a dress form for 3D printing with PLA filament to produce dress forms for draping, workable with pins, using quilting cotton and cotton cloth. Third, the comparisons of the form and flattening between the developed dress forms and the selling ones indicated that flattening was bigger in the waist part of the former than the latter. The waist is produced too slim in the existing dress forms; therefore, it is necessary to correct the waist circumference. Unlike existing dress forms, the developed ones were produced in proximity to the average size of 20-24 year-old women in the Size Korea 7th Survey.

한국 노인의 3D 인체특성 분석을 통한 Hip protector 치수체계 수립 및 입체패턴 설계 (Development of a Sizing System and a Draping Pattern for Hip Protector based on 3D Data Analysis of Korean Older Women)

  • This study aimed to develop an optimal sizing system and a draping pattern for hip protector based on an analysis of anthropometric characteristics of Korean older women. A hip protector is a specialized form of pants or underwear containing pads along the outside of each hip. The 3D body scan data of Korean older women were analyzed to identify their anthropometric characteristics and a four-size system with 93% of population accommodation was developed by clustering analysis based on key dimensions derived from factor analysis. The sizing system consists of small/short, large/short, small/tall, and large/tall. A 3D physical model and hip pads were fabricated; then, a hip protector was draped on the 3D model and hip pads. The sizing system of hip protector was analyzed in terms of size and shape and a draping pattern was compared on back center, back side, front side, front center and pad. Lastly, the pattern deformation and clothing pressure were analyzed using the virtual clothing system CLO. Virtual system have disadvantage of not to suggest the objective value. In the future research the wearing comfort and impact absorption of the hip protector needs to be tested and then a hip protector design will be finalized by considering the hip protector's size, material, comfort testing results, aesthetic appeal, protection effectiveness, and practical utility of everyday use.

3D 핸디형 스캐너와 3D 프린팅 기술 기반 드레이핑용 커스텀 메이드 드레스폼 개발 (Development of a Custom-Made Dress Form for Draping Based on 3D Handheld Scanners and 3D Printing Technology)

  • This study aimed to develop a a custom-made dress form for draping using a live model's 3D body scan obtained from an entry-level 3D handheld scanners, 3D modeling software and 3D printing technology. A female subject was recruited whose body size fell under the normal (N) body shape criteria suggested by KS K 0051. First, the handheld scanner reduced the length of the legs in scanning, but most of the scanning operations between the neck and crotch levels were conducted accurately. Therefore, this study was designed to develop a torso dress form. The full body 3D scan was edited into a torso shape using ZBrush® software. Using Rhinoceros® and Materialise's Magics software, a 3D body scan was modeled so that the user could fit two types of mannequin stands (one with a neck fixation from above and one with an insert from below) to the dress form. The body scan was divided into 9 pieces to fit the printable size of the Stratasys 3D printer Fortus 250mc, and the cross-sectional distance from the center to the periphery was downsized by 2 mm. After outputting the dress form scan file with a 3D printer, the dress form was manufactured by the first covering it with a 4 oz nonwoven pad and the second covering with a single jersey material.

  • This paper aims to investigate the tow deformation pattern with respect to shear angle and mold property during draping of plain weave carbon/epoxy prepreg. Aluminum and PVC foams with different foam density are used for the draping hemisphere molds with 250 mm diameters. Microscopic observation reveals that tow parameters like crimp angle and Y-directional tow intervals are influenced by shear angle and mold density at the same time. The correlation between crimp angle and Y-directional tow interval is also found out.

3D 스캔데이터를 활용한 국내 남성용 스킨스쿠버복 패턴개발 (Development of the Men's Scuba Diving Suit Pattern by Using 3D Body-Scanned Data)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the pattern of scuba diving suits for local men in their thirties by using 3D body-scanned data. It is widely acknowledged that draping method is more suitable than flat pattern for body shape as most scuba diving suits in the market are designed to fit the body tightly in a single piece with sleeves and legs. A dummy for this study was made based on men's standard clothing sizes in 30's which was derived from data of 2004 Size Korea. Accordingly, the basic body block was built upon through draping method. Next, a scuba diving suit was made from neoprene, followed by fit and the clothing pressure tests in order to evaluate the diving suit's functionality and comfort. The results of the fit test had high points of 4.33 in majority parts except armhole and crotch ones. In comparison of clothing pressure between wearer and dummy, the clothing pressure of wearer was indicated relatively low in most parts other than armhole and knee, resulting from cushion function of skin and muscle and high stretch of fabric.

2.5D Mapping 모듈과 3D 의복 시뮬레이션 시스템 (2.5D Mapping Module and 3D Cloth Simulation System)

  • 본 논문은 패션 디자인 분야에서 완성된 의상의 모델 사진을 활용해 다양한 원단(직물)을 직접 Draping함으로써 새로운 디자인을 창출할 수 있고 직접 샘플이나 시제품을 제작하지 않고도 시뮬레이션만으로 의상 작품을 확인 할 수 있다. 또한 모델과 원단 이미지에 대한 데이터베이스를 구축하여 실시간으로 Mapping 결과를 확인할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하였다. 그리고 여기에서 추출되는 시제품을 3D 모델에 입혀 시뮬레이션 할 수 있도록 하기 위한 과정으로 우선 여러 옷감 조각들을 이용하여 가상의 3D 인체 모델에 옷을 입히기 위한 의복 시뮬레이션 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 3D 인체 모델 파일과 2D 재단 패턴 파일을 읽어 들인 다음에 mass-spring model에 기반한 물리적 시뮬레이션에 의해 의복을 착용한 3D 모델을 생성한다. 본 논문의 시스템은 사실적인 시뮬레이션을 위하여 인체 모델을 구성하는 삼각형과 의복을 구성하는 삼각형 사이의 충돌을 검사하고 반응 처리를 수행하였다. 인체를 구성하는 삼각형의 수가 매우 많으므로, 이러한 충돌 검사 빛 반응 처리는 많은 시간을 필요로 한다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 Octree 공간 분할 기법을 이용하여 충돌 검사 및 반응 처리 수를 줄이는 방법을 이용하여 사실적인 영상을 생성할 수 있었고, 수초 이내에 가상 인체 모델에 의복을 입힐 수 있었다.
