3D mesh metamorphosis (morphing) deals with two input polyhedral objects and generates an animation in which the source mesh gradually changes to the target through in-between meshes. The basic and common idea of previous mesh morphing techniques can be summarized as the construction and interpolation of a metamesh. However, an approach based on a metamesh has fundamental limitations of complicated in-between meshes and no topology (connectivity) changes in a metamorphosis. This paper presents a novel approach for 3D mesh morphing, which is not based on a metamesh and overcomes the limitations of previous work. The approach simultaneously interpolates the topology and geometry of input meshes. With the approach, an in-between mesh contains only the vertices from the source and target meshes. Since no additional vertices are introduced, the in-between meshes are much simpler than those generated by previous techniques.

Two cameras which function like human eyes, are needed to make 3D stereoscopic image. That is, stereoscopic image is made via 3 dimensional image processing for combining two images from left and right camera. In this paper two high resolution zoom cameras are used to make HD resolution stereoscopic camera. And the algorithm which convert to stereoscopic image from HD resolution zoom camera image, is implemented using FPGA for real-time operation. The algorithm which measure the depth of object between left and right image is proposed.
In this paper, we have proposed a new geometric solution of inverse kinematics of high instinct, while traditional solutions of inverse kinematics requires high level of mathematical knowledge. It was possible to use the inverse kinematics without mathematical knowledge because 3D vectors of directions of folded bones could be calculated by our method in the inverse kinematic model of two bones. The proposed method can be utilized easily by graphic designers who have little knowledge of mathematics of inverse kinematics
Collaborative systems allow users, who may be far removed from each other geographically, to do collaborative work such as 3D animation, computer game, and industrial design in a single virtual space. This paper describes our experience to develop a collaborative system framework that aims at expanding the some functions of a stand-alone visual modeling tool, called 3D Studio Max, into those of the distributed collaborative working environments. The paper mainly deals with design and implementation of a 3D shared-object Plug-In with respect to the 3D Studio Max Plug-In Software Development Kit in the distributed collaborative system developed by the authors. There are two major functions of the proposed scheme; one is to write 3D object-information to the shared memory after extracting it from the 3D Studio Max, the other is to create 3D objects after retrieving them from the shared memory. Also, the proposed scheme provides a simple way of storing 3D objects that have variable size, by means of shared memory which located in between the collaborative system clients and 3D studio Max. One of the remarkable virtures of the Plug-In is to reduce a considerable amount of shared object data which in consequence can mitigate the network overhead. This can be achieved by the fact that the system is able to extract a minimum amount of 3D objects that are required to transmit. Also, using the proposed scheme, user can facilitate 3D Studio Max into distributed collaborative working environments. This, in consequence give many benefits such as saving time as well as eliminating space constraints in the course of 3D modeling when we are under industrial design process.
In this paper, we present a linear controller for attitude of aircraft. We use a rotational matrix in one approach and a quaternion in the other approach. We also find some interesting mathematical properties concerning a symmetric rotational matrix and we use these properties to analyze the stability of the proposed control law. We find that the quaternion approach is better than rotational matrix approach because there exists no singular region problem in quaternion approach. On the other hand, singular region problem may happens in rotational matrix approach. The controller structure of the quaternion is also very simple compared with the one proposed by using a rotational matrix approach. We make use Matlab Simulink to simulate and illustrate the theoretical claims. The graphic animation program is developed based on Open-GL for the computer simulation of the proposed control algorithm.
Application of traditional aerial survey technologies for topographic mapping purposes has a number of principal problems. The growing worldwide acceptance of digital orthophotos has understood this need. Many trekking and expedition teams are expecting digital orthophoto and consequently 3D animation of the highest peaks and possible trekking routes, camping sites and information on how difficult the routes may be. In recent years, inexpensive computers and advance of computer technologies contributed to the rapid development of digital photogrammetry (Dowman et al., 1992; Heipke, 1995). Successful implementation of digital photogrammetric workstations in mapping have been found in various disciplines (Chen et al., 1998; Skalet et al., 1992). This paper highlights the results of the conventional photogrammetry and the possible advantages of digital photogrammetry over these and also the problems, issues and implications during digital Photogrammetric processing of high mountainous region in Asia.
We present a new interactive technique for directing the motion sequences of an animated character by dragging its specific body part to a desired location in the three-dimensional virtual environment via a hand motion tracking device. The motion sequences of our character is synthesized by reordering subsequences of captured motion data based on a well-known graph representation. For each new input location, our system samples the space of possible future states by unrolling the graph into a spatial search tree, and retrieves one of the states at which the dragged body part of the character gets closer to the input location. We minimize the difference between each pair of successively retrieved states, so that the user is able to anticipate which states will be found by varying the input location, and resultantly, to quickly reach the desired states. The usefulness of our method is demonstrated through experiments with breakdance, boxing, and basketball motion data.
First of all, What was the modeling technique used to model 3D-Game character? It's a technique developed along several years, by experience... here is the bases Low polygons characters I always work in low polygon for two reasons -You can easily modify a low-poly character, change shapes, make morph for facial expressions etc -You can easily animate a low-poly character When the modeling is finished, Second, In these days, Computer hardware technologies have been bring about that expansion of various 3D digital motion pictured information and development. 3D digital techniques can be used to be diversity in Animation, Virtual-Reality, Movie, Advertisement, Game and so on. Besides, as computing power has been better and higher, the development of 3D Animations and Character are required gradually. In order to satisfy the requirement, Research about how to make 3D Game modeling that represents Character's emotions, sensibilities, is beginning to set its appearance. 3D characters in 3D Games are the core for the communications of emotion and the informations through their facial expression and characteristic motions, Sounds to Users. All concerning about 3D motion and facial expression are getting higher with extension of frequency in use. Therefore, in this study we suggest the effective method of modeling for 3D character and which are based on 2D Graphics.

We present interactive methods for visualizing the cloud height data and the backscatter data collected from ceilometers in the three-dimensional virtual space. Because ceilometer data is high-dimensional, large-size data associated with both spatial and temporal information, it is highly improbable to exhibit the whole aspects of ceilometer data simply with static, two-dimensional images. Based on the three-dimensional rendering technology, our visualization methods allow the user to observe both the global variations and the local features of the three-dimensional representations of ceilometer data from various angles by interactively manipulating the timing and the view as desired. The cloud height data, coupled with the terrain data, is visualized as a realistic cloud animation in which many clouds are formed and dissipated over the terrain. The backscatter data is visualized as a three-dimensional terrain which effectively represents how the amount of backscatter changes according to the time and the altitude. Our system facilitates the multivariate analysis of ceilometer data by enabling the user to select the date to be examined, the level-of-detail of the terrain, and the additional data such as the planetary boundary layer height. We demonstrate the usefulness of our methods through various experiments with real ceilometer data collected from 93 sites scattered over the country.
3D computer applications provide various functions such as modeling, rendering, animation, lighting and so on. Lighting is the core element in that light visualizes shape and develops characteristics of surface. In spatial design, light is the most important factor in deciding color, texture and illumination level which are the basic factors of spatial design. The purpose of this study is to define the characteristics of lighting in digital space provided by the computer, based on the fact that physical space cannot be separated from digital space, and to show how light in the physical realm relates to computer graphics technologies. This study shows there are following characteristics of light in digital space; iconic light, modifiable surface, shadowless light, 2-dimensional perception, and the particulate aspect of light but not the wave aspect of light. Light in physical or digital space is capable of producing a visual sensation. The experimental space can be realized due to the lack of physics. Further study in new illumination procedures are required as computer media expands.
