This paper proposes an algorithm for 3D object detection by processing point cloud data of 3D LiDAR. Unlike 2D LiDAR, 3D LiDAR-based data was too vast and difficult to process in three dimensions. This paper introduces various studies based on 3D LiDAR and describes 3D LiDAR data processing. In this study, we propose a method of processing data of 3D LiDAR using clustering techniques for object detection and design an algorithm that fuses with cameras for clear and accurate 3D object detection. In addition, we study models for clustering 3D LiDAR-based data and study hyperparameter values according to models. When clustering 3D LiDAR-based data, the DBSCAN algorithm showed the most accurate results, and the hyperparameter values of DBSCAN were compared and analyzed. This study will be helpful for object detection research using 3D LiDAR in the future.

The ongoing adoption of 5G will increase the data traffic, throughput, multimedia services, and power consumption for future wireless applications and services, including sensor and mobile networks. Multipath fading on wireless channels also reduces the system performance and increases energy consumption. To address these issues, device-to-device (D2D) and cooperative communications have been proposed. In this study, we propose two inter-clustering models using the relay selection method to improve system performance and increase energy efficiency in cooperative D2D networks. We develop two inter-clustering models and present their respective algorithms. Subsequently, we run a computer simulation to evaluate each model's outage probability (OP) performance, throughput, and energy efficiency. The simulation results show that inter-clustering model II has the lowest OP, highest throughput, and highest energy efficiency compared with inter-clustering model I and the conventional inter-clustering-based multirelay method. These results demonstrate that inter-clustering model II is well-suited for use in 5G overlay D2D and cellular communications.

Accurate extraction of traversable region is a critical issue for autonomous navigation of unmanned ground vehicle(UGV). This paper introduces enhanced extraction of traversable region by combining scene clustering with 3D world modeling using CCD(Charge-Coupled Device)/IR(Infra Red) image. Scene clustering is developed with K-means algorithm based on CCD and IR image. 3D world modeling is developed by fusing CCD and IR stereo image. Enhanced extraction of traversable regions is obtained by combining feature of extraction with a clustering method and a geometric characteristic of terrain derived by 3D world modeling.
Three-dimensional (3D) printing is applied to many areas of life, but 3D printing models are stolen by pirates and distributed without any permission from the original providers. Moreover, some special models and anti-weapon models in 3D printing must be secured from the unauthorized user. Therefore, 3D printing models must be encrypted before being stored and transmitted to ensure access and to prevent illegal copying. This paper presents a selective encryption algorithm for 3D printing models based on clustering and the frequency domain of discrete cosine transform. All facets are extracted from 3D printing model, divided into groups by the clustering algorithm, and all vertices of facets in each group are transformed to the frequency domain of a discrete cosine transform. The proposed algorithm is based on encrypting the selected coefficients in the frequency domain of discrete cosine transform to generate the encrypted 3D printing model. Experimental results verified that the proposed algorithm is very effective for 3D printing models. The entire 3D printing model is altered after the encryption process. The decrypting error is approximated to be zero. The proposed algorithm provides a better method and more security than previous methods.
This paper proposes 3D visualization method of compound knowledge which will be able to identify and search easily compound knowledge objects based the multidimensional relationship. For this, we structurized a compound knowledge with link and node which become the semantic network. and we suggested 3D visualization method using SOM. Also, to arrange compound knowledge from 3D space and to provide the chance of realistic and intuitional information retrieval to the user, we proposed compound knowledge 3D clustering methods using object similarity. Compound knowledge 3D visualization and clustering using SOM will be the optimum method to appear context of compound knowledge and connectivity in space-time.
This study focused on the role of cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) genotypes to predict phenotypes in the metabolism of dextromethorphan. CYP2D6 genotypes and metabolic ratios (MRs) of dextromethorphan were determined in 201 Koreans. Unsupervised clustering algorithms, hierarchical and k-means clustering analysis, and color visualizations of CYP2D6 activity were performed on a subset of 130 subjects. A total of 23 different genotypes were identified, five of which were observed in one subject. Phenotype classifications were based on the means, medians, and standard deviations of the log MR values for each genotype. Color visualization was used to display the mean and median of each genotype as different color intensities. Cutoff values were determined using receiver operating characteristic curves from the k-means analysis, and the data were validated in the remaining subset of 71 subjects. Using the two highest silhouette values, the selected numbers of clusters were three (the best) and four. The findings from the two clustering algorithms were similar to those of other studies, classifying $^*5/^*5$ as a lowest activity group and genotypes containing duplicated alleles (i.e., $CYP2D6^*1/^*2N$) as a highest activity group. The validation of the k-means clustering results with data from the 71 subjects revealed relatively high concordance rates: 92.8% and 73.9% in three and four clusters, respectively. Additionally, color visualization allowed for rapid interpretation of results. Although the clustering approach to predict CYP2D6 phenotype from CYP2D6 genotype is not fully complete, it provides general information about the genotype to phenotype relationship, including rare genotypes with only one subject.

One of the main problems in 3D shape measuring systems that use the triangulation of line-shaped laser light is precise center line detection of line-shaped laser stripe. The intensity of a line-shaped laser light stripe on the CCD image varies following to the reflection angles, colors and shapes of objects. In this paper, a new center line detection algorithm to compensate the local intensity variation on a line-shaped laser light stripe is proposed. The 3-D surface shape measuring system using the proposed center line detection algorithm can measure 3-D surface shape with enhanced measurement resolution by using the dynamic shape reconstruction with adaptive pattern clustering of the line-shaped laser light. This proposed 3-D shape measuring system can be easily applied to practical situations of measuring 3-D surface by virtue of high speed measurement and compact hardware compositions.
Experiments and research on genes have become very convenient by using DNA chips, which provide large amounts of data from various experiments. The data provided by the DNA chips could be represented as a two dimensional matrix, in which one axis represents genes and the other represents samples. By performing an efficient and good quality clustering on such data, the classification work which follows could be more efficient and accurate. In this paper, we use a bio-inspired algorithm called the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm to propose an efficient clustering mechanism for large amounts of DNA chip data, and show through experimental results that the clustering technique using the PSO algorithm provides a faster yet good quality result compared with other existing clustering solutions.

The ability to characterize feature objects from radar readings is often limited by simply looking at their still frame reflectivity, differential reflectivity and differential phase data. In many cases, time-series study of these objects' reflectivity profile is required to properly characterize features objects of interest. This paper introduces a novel technique to automatically track multiple 3D radar structures in C,S-band in real-time using Doppler radar and profile their characteristic reflectivity distribution in time series. The extraction of reflectivity profile from different radar cluster structures is done in three stages: 1. static frame (zone-linkage) clustering, 2. dynamic frame (evolution-linkage) clustering and 3. characterization of clusters through time series profile of reflectivity distribution. The two clustering schemes proposed here are applied on composite multi-layers CAPPI (Constant Altitude Plan Position Indicator) radar data which covers altitude range of 0.25 to 10 km and an area spanning over hundreds of thousands $km^2$. Discrete numerical simulations show the validity of the proposed technique and that fast and accurate profiling of time series reflectivity distribution for deformable 3D radar structures is achievable.
