  • In this study, the basic properties of CO2 immobilized desulfurized gypsum (CFBG) and the possibility of being used as a stimulus for slag cement were reviewed, and performance evaluation was conducted through a concrete mixing test. The main components of CFBG were CaO and SO3, and CaO and SO3 increased as the drying temperature increased. The moisture content of undried CFBG was 15.7 %, the drying temperature was 1.7 % and the drying temperature was 0.03 % at 105 ℃. Mortar using CFBG tended to have a lower flow value as the drying temperature increased, and the compressive strength was equivalent to that of the FGB use mixture. As a result of the concrete experiment using CFBG SC, both slump and air volume satisfied the target range after 60 minutes, and the compressive strength tended to increase overall compared to the ternary binder mixture.

  • The 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was performed in relation to the internal fluid characteristics and flow distribution for the development of the most optimal model in the complex post-disposal device. As it is expected that a channeling (drift) would be made by the semi-dry reactor due to the large difference in the flow distribution by the compartment in the bag filter, a structural improvement should be urgently made for more uniformed flow distribution in the bag filter. Three types of modifications such as i) changing the plenum shape, ii) orifice install in the exit part of cleaned gas, iii) increasing the plenum number were established. From the results of computational fluid dynamics, it was revealed that the changing of plenum shape and orifice install in the exit part of cleaned gas was more reasonable than the increasing the plenum number because of the difficulties of retrofit. The complex post-disposal device, modified and supplemented with this analysis, integrated the semi-dry reactor and the bag filter in a single body, so it follows that the improvement can make the device compact, save the installation area, save the operation fee, and management more convenient.

  • Explosion effect on CG (Computer Graphic) a visual effect on which a higher degree of technological difficulty is required with a variety of effect elements such as Fire, Smoke, Flame, Dust, Debris, etc. integrated on it. As skills for CG software have been advanced, solutions loaded with functions of various fluid simulation have been developed. So more realistic special effects came to be available. However, in Korea, it depends just on CG program functions. Besides, enough R&D's concerned have not been followed up. Accordingly, this study is aimed at offering a production method that may effectively implement more realistic explosion effects under experimentations. To begin with, the study derives problems through a precedent study of the implementation of existing explosion effects. Then to solve them, experimental studies are performed depending on four solutions. There are accesses to the four solutions: first, Numerous Turbulent Flow, a method to allow an attribute of turbulent air in the stage of fluid simulation; second, Cache Retiming Solution produced in script; third, Multiple Volume Container based on cached data; and fourth, RGB Lighting Pipeline, a method to enhance the completion of the result from the stage of composition. Characteristics of effects applied in each stage and consecutive connections of them proved the effective implementation of more realistic explosion effects. This study may not only suppose the production method for efficient explosion effects differentiated from the previous ones but also be utilized as basic data for relevant researches.

  • The 1st assessment (performance test) was applied to assure the floor impact sound performance for developing the dry double- floor with the change of rubber hardness of the upper panel's support and the ceiling structure of the sub-floor. Depends on the change of the rubber hardness in substructure, the heavy-weight sound impact value is improved up to 3 dB, and the light-weight sound impact value is moved up to 21 dB, comparing with the bare-slab. Also, the improved value for the floor impact sound conjugating with the sub-floor's ceiling was 5dB. Based on this result, the 2nd assessment (performance test) was made the state that the rubber hardness of the sub-floor support was ranged between 50 and 70 for considering the stability of walking patients. In addition to this process, the assessment was carried out with a variety of ceiling structure applied to the dry doublefloor structure with the air flow system on the sub-floor's ceiling. The result for the 2nd assessment proved that TYPE-11 had the better sound reduction performance in the heavy-weight impact sound test than other types, and also for the light-weight impact sound TYPE-11 had the 29 dB sound reduction performance overall. Henceforth, based on the result the research for the sound reduction performance from the floor impact sound shall be ongoing process as well as the development of a double-dry floor and a sound reduction ceiling to suitable on the field.

  • We are developing a vol-oxidizer which transforms the spent $UO_2$ pellets into the $U_3O_8$ power through oxidizing process. The vol-oxidizer consists of furnace, filter, heater and valve etc. When the filter is blocked by the powder, the internal pressure of the furnace is increased owing to the air flow restriction. Then, the furnace vessel is swelled and deformed by it. In this paper, we proposed a procedure of the thermal analysis for furnace vessel design of spent fuel vol-oxidizer. In this work, we determined the thickness of the furnace through analyzing the internal pressure and the thermal stress of the furnace with respect to various pressure and temperature. To analyze the thermal stress, we used ANSYS 8.0 for constructing a FEM model of the furnace, and then analyzed it based on the ASME code. We also surveyed the material property and yield stress of SUS304 with various temperature. Analysis results are compared with the yield stress of the material. We manufactured the furnace and conduct the verification experiments.

  • A Polypropylene (PP) film was ablated using a femtosecond laser with a center wavelength of 785 nm, a pulse width of 184 fs and a repetition rate of 1 kHz. Increments of both pulse energy and the shot number of pulses lead to co-occurrence of photochemical and thermal effect, demonstrated by the spatial expansion of rim on the surface of PP. The shapes of the laser-ablated PP films were imaged by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and measured a 3D optical measurement system (NanoFocus). And, the oxygen transmission rate (ORT) of periodically laser-ablated PP film were characterized by oxygen permeability tester for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of fresh fruit and vegetable. Our results demonstrate that femtosecond pulsed laser is efficient tools for breathable packaging films in modifying the flow of air and gas into and out of a fresh produce container, where the micropatterns are specifically tailored in size, location and number which are easily controlled by laser pulse energy and pulse patterning system.

  • In this study, the characteristics of antiwashout underwater concrete according to the using types of admixture were experimentally investigated. Especially, the comparison on the performance of seven types(CO-A, B, C, D, E, F, G) of the manufactured admixtures was carried out in the same mixing condition and proportions. Based on the results of experiments, the conclusions were summarized as follows : (1) The slump flow on most of specimens except by CO-F type were progressed very well. (2) In most of products, the measured values of suspensions, pH's and air contents were lower than their reference values. However, CO-B, CO-F and CO-G types exceeded the reference ones in suspension and pH. (3) The time lags between initial and final setting were about three hours in most of tests, however, the maximum difference of total setting time was ten hours in comparing with the admixture types. The unit weights were mostly lower than $2300kg/m^3$ and the compressive strengths cured by salt water were about 80% of the ones by fresh water. (4) Finally, in spite of some problems, most of the manufactured admixtures may be performed well their functions in antiwashout under-water concrete if the using quantities are properly controlled by the site experiments.

  • The seed formation and growth of $\alpha$-ferric oxyhydroxide with aerial oxidative precipitation from aqueous solution of ferrous sulfate with KOH, NaOH, $Na_2CO_3$ and $K_2CO_3$ as precipitants have been studied by free pH drift experiment. It has been shown that all precipitants give same particle formation and growth path, and average particle length from KOH and NaOH as precipitants was about 1.5 times shorter than that of $K_2CO_3$ and $Na_2CO_3$. When initial mole ratio, $R_o=[Fe^{2+}]_o/[OH^-]_o$ of KOH was decreased the particle was grown oxyhydroxide seed growth from aqueous solution of ferrous sulfate with KOH has been studied. The influence of the air flow rate, reaction temperature and initial mole ratio, $R_o=[Fe^{2+}]_o/[OH^-]_o$, on the kinetics of seed growth are investigated by static pH experiment. The oxidation rate of seed growth increased with increase in the air low rate, reaction temperature and initial mole patio. The activation energy of seed growth is 16.16 KJ/mol and the rate equation of seed growth can be written as follows: $-\frac{d[Fe^{2+}]}{dt}=1.46{\times}10^4[P_{o2}]^{0.66}[OH^-]^{2.19}exp(-\frac{16.16}{dt})$.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the heat transfer characteristics in the transient cooling process of a high temperature wall. The slow transient cooling experiment was carried out with a copper block of high thermal capacity. The results of these experiments are as follows. 1. Temperature histories measured by the thermocouple, which is 0.99, 2.00, 2.99mm from the heat transfer surface showed monotonous during the cooling process. These variation are the curves of typical temperature histories in film-boiling, transition-boiling, and nucleate-boiling regions. 2. The temperature histories were measured by thermocouple installed in the copper block. The variations of the surface heat fluxes and surface temperature were computed from the numerical solution method TDMA from the measured temperature histories for radial position one dimensional heat transfer inverse problem. The boiling curves were found by the computed temperature histories. 3. The rewetting point which starts to change from film boiling to nucleate boiling is not connected with the mass velocity and it were found that the temperature of rewetting point indicated about $100^{\circ}C$. 4. The heat flux of rewetting point was about $10^5Kcal/m^2h$, at that time, the heat transfer coeficient indicated about $1000Kcal/m^2h^{\circ}C$ irrelevent to mass velocity. 5. The wall superheat decreases as the pressure increases. But I found that rewetting point appeared under higher condition in the wall temperature.
