  • This paper proposes method to get exquisite third dimension data removing included noise by error that occur in third dimension reconstruction through camera auto-calibration. Though reconstructing third dimension data by previous noise removing method, mesh that area is wide is happened problem by noise. Because mesh's area is important, the proposed algorithm need preprocessing that remove unnecessary triangle meshes of acquired third dimension data. The research analyzes the characteristics of noise using the area information of 3-dimensional meshes, separates a peek noise and a Gauss noise by its characteristics and removes the noise effectively. We give a quantitative evaluation of the proposed preprocessing filter and compare with the mesh smoothing procedures. We demonstrate that our effective preprocessing filter outperform the mesh smoothing procedures in terms of accuracy and resistance to over-smoothing.

  • In this paper, the proposed method is a denoising technology by tangent curve interpolation of zero points. The problem of the hard threshold method is improved by the proposed method. The quantity of time fluctuation of the electromagnetic signal as the quantity of electric fluctuation of the natural world or the curve of motion waveform of the fast movement of human extracted using virtual reality is, in fact, complex. Therefore it is important to decide exactly the signal properties as the inflection point for observation signal. In particular, it is necessary to extract the properties after denoising, since the measurement signal of the natural world include some noises. It shows that the noise of the inflection point signal with noise II, noise factor 5, is eliminated by the proposed method, and the result of SNR for the signal is improved 3.4dB than that by the conventional hard threshold.

  • Recently, the smart applications, such as smart phone and smart TV, become a hot issue in IT consumer markets. In particular, the smart TV provides 3D video services, hence efficient coding methods for 3D video data are required. Three-dimensional (3D) video involves stereoscopic or multi-view images to provide depth experience through 3D display systems. Binocular cues are perceived by rendering proper viewpoint images obtained at slightly different view angles. Since the number of viewpoints of the multi-view video is limited, 3D display devices should generate arbitrary viewpoint images using available adjacent view images. In this paper, after we explain a view synthesis method briefly, we propose a new algorithm to compensate view synthesis errors around object boundaries. We describe a 3D warping technique exploiting the depth map for viewpoint shifting and a hole filling method using multi-view images. Then, we propose an algorithm to remove boundary noises that are generated due to mismatches of object edges in the color and depth images. The proposed method reduces annoying boundary noises near object edges by replacing erroneous textures with alternative textures from the other reference image. Using the proposed method, we can generate perceptually inproved images for 3D video systems.

  • In tissue engineering area, researchers observe symbiotic relationship such as proliferation, interaction, division apoptosis with time between cells in process of the 3D cell culture in hydrogels. The 3D cell culture process can be taken photographs into sliced images using confocal microscope. Symbiotic mechanism and changes of cell behaviors can be observed and analyzed from the images acquired by confocal microscope. In this paper, we proposed and developed graded noise elimination method and cluster boundary extraction method to extract boundaries information from sliced confocal images acquired in process of the 3D cell culture in hydrogels. The experiment based algorithm showed excellent performance for eliminating noises that have very small millet-shaped size. It is also showed to extract exact boundaries information for even complex clusters.

  • In noisy environments, human speech productions are influenced by noises(Lombard effect), and speech signals are contaminated. These distortions dramatically reduce the performance of speech recognition systems. This paper proposes a method of the Lombard effect compensation and noise suppression in order to improve speech recognition performance in noise environments. To estimate the intensity of the Lombard effect which is a nonlinear distortion depending on the ambient noise levels, speakers, and phonetic units, we formulate the measure of the Lombard effect level based on the acoustic speech signal, and the measure is used to compensate the Lombard effect. The distortions of speech under noisy environments are cancelled out as follows. First, spectral subtraction and band-pass filtering are used to cancel out noise. Second, energy nomalization is proposed to cancel out the variation of vocal intensity by the Lombard effect. Finally, the Lombard effect level controls the transform which converts Lombard speech cepstrum to clean speech cepstrum. The proposed method was validated on 50 korean word recognition. Average recognition rates were 82.6%, 95.7%, 97.6% with the proposed method, while 46.3%, 75.5%, 87.4% without any compensation at SNR 0, 10, 20 dB, respectively.

  • In this paper, a new power amplifier is proposed for reduction of amplified RX band noise signals as well as intermodulation distortion signals using feedforward technique. This power amplifier is implemented for IMT-2000 basestation TX frequency band. Both TX band intermodulation distortion signals and RX band noise signals are reduced by controlling variable attenuator, phase shifter and error amplifier. The proposed power amplifier, which contains two loops-intermodulation distortion signals cancellation loop and RX band noise signals cancellation loop, can provide duplexer with low TX path insertion loss for various wireless communication systems due to choice of loose RX attenuation characteristic. The principle of the proposed amplifier is described graphically based on the conceptual schematic diagram. A two-tone test for power amplifier is done at 2.14GHz with frequency spacing of 5MHz, and RX band rejection test is done over RX full band of 60MHz with 1.95GHz center frequency. Experimental results represent that the cancellation performance of intermodulation distortion signals and RX band noise signals are more than 3 1dB and 21dB, respectively.

  • This paper propose a method for fast convergence technique in frequency domain independent component analysis (FDICA) using eigenanalysis. It important, such as SONAR system, to eliminate the interference sources through fast algorithm. Through eigenanalysing a two-by-two delayed mixture case, information of delay can be used for initial weighting parameters. Simulations show the improved performances in convergence speed and noise rejection rate. The proposed method can present close weights for optimal convergence, noise can be diminished drastically about 3 times epoch, and get the better resultss with 1~3dB than the conventional method.

  • This paper proposed a method for the cancellation of the moving artifact which was produced during the detection of drowsiness usmg electrodermal activity signal. Two types of wrist electrode were developed to overcome the defect of the steering wheel type electrode which couldn't eliminate the moving artifacts due to driver's movements. Wrist type electrode II which has been modified from electrode type I was most effective for eliminating movmg artifacts compared to wheel type electrode and wrisL type electrode 1. The decIsion criteria(if IRI$\leq$10 and 1.1$\leq$dNz) for detecting moving artifact was determined from the virtual driving experiments. An algorithm which substituted past value of Nz for the current value of Nz whenever an EDA signal satisfied the criteria was developed. The experimental resulls of virtual driving and road test showed that the proposed algorithm had been successfully removed the most of the error due to the moving artifact Therefore, the developed system which use electrode type II and the algorithm might be less influenced by moving artifacts and could measure an accurate arousal state.

  • This paper describes an offset and 1/f noise cancellation technique based hall sensor signal processor. The hall sensor outputs a hall voltage from the input magnetic field, which direction is orthogonal to hall plate. The two major elements to complete the hall sensor operation are: the one is a hall sensor to generate hall voltage from input magentic field, and the other one is a hall signal process system to cancel the offset and 1/f noise of hall signal. The proposed hall sensor splits the hall signal and unwanted signals(i.e. offset and 1/f noise) using a spinning current biasing technique and chopper stabilizer. The hall signal converted to 100 kHz and unwanted signals stay around DC frequency pass through chopper stabilizer. The unwanted signals are bloked by highpass filter which, 60 kHz cut off freqyency. Therefore only pure hall signal is enter the ADC(analog to dogital converter) for digitalize. The hall signal and unwanted signal at the output of an amplifer and highpass filter, which increase the power level of hall signal and cancel the unwanted signals are -53.9 dBm @ 100 kHz and -101.3 dBm @ 10 kHz. The ADC output of hall sensor signal process system has -5.0 dBm hall signal at 100 kHz frequency and -55.0 dBm unwanted signals at 10 kHz frequency.
