Overlay Text Graphic Region Extraction for Video Quality Enhancement Application (비디오 품질 향상 응용을 위한 오버레이 텍스트 그래픽 영역 검출)

  • This paper has presented a few problems when the 2D video superimposed the overlay text was converted to the 3D stereoscopic video. To resolve the problems, it proposes the scenario which the original video is divided into two parts, one is the video only with overlay text graphic region and the other is the video with holes, and then processed respectively. And this paper focuses on research only to detect and extract the overlay text graphic region, which is a first step among the processes in the proposed scenario. To decide whether the overlay text is included or not within a frame, it is used the corner density map based on the Harris corner detector. Following that, the overlay text region is extracted using the hybrid method of color and motion information of the overlay text region. The experiment shows the results of the overlay text region detection and extraction process in a few genre video sequence.

  • Today due to the development of technology, 3D graphics have become an essential element of the game graphic. When game companies create a game using 3D graphics, game users can enjoy a better game graphics like photo-realistic live action than 2D game graphics. And because the game companies have many advantages in creating games which are easy to deal with many basic effects and special effects, in video game business field, 3D game have become the mainstream. This paper will inquire the characteristics of 2D spline which is basic to various kinds of 3D modeling necessary to making 3D game graphics, compare and analyze the merits and demerits of each kind of spline and find out its development history.

  • Spatial relations among objects we one of the most frequently used searching criteria for a query based on the contents of 3-D images. However, the existing researches have mainly focused only the absolute directional relations based on a fixed viewpoint in 2-D images. So, this paper presents a representation method of viewpoint based directional relations that enables spatial relations among objects to be retrieved based on a viewpoint of an observer. The retrieval technique based on our method is a]so described. In this paper, the notion of 3D string is defined to express the spatial relations in a 3-D space. A retrieval method based on relative directional relations among objects from a viewpoint of an observer is also presented. The proposed method simplifies the retrieval of viewpoint-based directional relations because 2D+1D scheme reduces the dimension.

  • Construction projects are becoming larger in size and higher in complexity. Operation and maintenance, therefore, is an important part in providing the serviceability of the built facility from the perspective of life-cycle. This paper presents a 3D graphic model-integrated data extraction for bridge maintenance. The 3D graphic model environment assigns attributes to the member blocks in CAD, and link the attributes to the data stored in a database. Then, the user can click the member block to extract the data associated with the attributes. A prototype has been developed to test the applicability of the 3D graphic model environment using CAD and web. Application of the system in an actual bridge construction showed that the 3D graphic model environment can help the user find necessary data at a shorter time, thereby increasing the effectiveness of operation and maintenance in bridge structures.

  • Recently, the concerning about cultural heritages has been increased. As a result, the protection, repairing and restoration of cultural assets have been actively in progress. The biggest project of cultural asset reconstructions is the restoration of Kyungbok Palace and it has been in proceed step by step since in 1989. The actual sizes of these traditional buildings have been measured and recorded for future maintenance. In this paper, the 3D computer graphic technique is used to help understanding the inner structures of the traditional buildings as well as their construction processes. In other word, the construction simulation of Keunjeongjun which is the center building of Kyungbok Palace have been produced using 3D computer graphic techniques. The purpose of this project is aiding people in understanding the process of traditional palace architecture in Korea.

  • In this paper, we proposed the fabrication methodology of orthotic device using 3D Computer-Aided Design programme and 3D printing technology based on images acquired from 3D scanner. We set the process and methodology of its fabrication method and confirmed whether it is available for clinical by fabricating four kinds of orthotic device for a patient with cerebral palsy. 3D printing technology method was indicated quantitatively and qualitatively about duration, tensile strength stronger comparing with conventional method, and we could propose that the 3D printing technology for the orthosis could be the proper method to mediate and compensate with reported problems related to orthosis.

  • The widespreading of XML as a standard for semi-structured documents on the Web opens up challenging opportunities for Web query language. And UML is a graphical language to represent the result of object-oriented analysis and design. In this paper, we introduce an UML-based graphical query language for XML documents. The use of a visual formalism for representing the syntax and semantics of queries enables an intuitive expression of queries, even when they are rather complex. And, it is matched a series of processes to store and retrieve XML documents to OODBMS with the use of an uniform visualization for representing both the content of XML documents (and of their DTD) and the syntax and semantics of queries.

  • 컴퓨터 네트워크는 컴퓨터와 컴퓨터를 이어주는 단순 기능에서 벗어나 "네트워크가 곧 컴퓨터이다"라는 명제가 등장할 만큼 정보 기술 발전의 핵심으로 부각되고 있다. 따라서, 새로운 정보 통신망이나 컴퓨터의 연구 개발은 네트워크 기능의 고속화, 고성능화, 지능화에 중점을 두고 있다. 과거의 컴퓨터 통신은 단순한 터미널과 과학 계산용 서버를 연결하고 데이터 전송을 하는 목적에 국한되었으나 현재는 취급하는 정보가 다양해지고 수많은 사용자들이 개인용 컴퓨터를 갖게 되고 정보 통신망이 대규모로 확산됨에 따라 멀티미디어 데이터의 전송, 교환, 생성, 가공, 축적, 변환, 수집으로 기능이 확대되었다. 또한, 컴퓨터 그래픽 기술이 발달하므로서 네트워크를 통한 그래픽 전송 특히 3D그래픽 전송을 통한 서비스에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에따라 개발된 VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language)에 대한 소개와 이를 이용한 관광 가이드 서비스개발에 대한 과정 및 3D모델링, 응용 분야에 대하여 알아 보고 가상현실 기반 가이드 서비스에 대한 기초 연구를 통해 발생된 문제점과 도출해 낼수 있는 결과 및 앞으로의 개선 방향에 대하여 알아보기로 한다. 알아보기로 한다.

  • 본 연구는 3차원 컴퓨터 그래픽 데이터의 디지털 저작권 보호를 위하여 3차원 데이터에 저작권을 주장하는 워터마크를 삽입하고 원본 없이도 추출할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 벡터의 개념을 사용하는 3차원 모델 가운데서도 많이 사용되고 있는 Spline방식으로 모델링 된 그래픽 데이터에 정보를 삽입, 추출하는 기술로서 추출 시에는 원본을 필요로 하지 않는다는 것이 특징이다. 좌표자체를 변경하지 않기 때문에 정보를 삽입한 후 3차원 데이터의 양에 작은 변화가 있지만 시각적으로 구분이 안될 정도로 3차원 모델의 형태를 완벽히 유지한다. 또한 삽입된 정보가 쉽게 노출되지 않으며 많은 양의 데이터를 삽입할 수 있다.
