  • This paper proposes a framework of engineering education for product development processes based on product data management (PDM) software and 3D printing. The PDM software supports the product development process-oriented educational coursework, collaborative team projects and project-based learning environment. The 3D printing supports the prototyping step in the product development process and helps participants consider physical realization of their designs during the product design and development phases. The framework was implemented in an introductory course for engineering students to product design and development, and author found that it is important to support rich communication among participants including lecturers, teaching assistants and students to enhance the quality of education and to overcome the burden of learning various computer-aided tools and 3D printing techniques needed for the framework.

  • Let R be a prime ring with characteristics not 2 and ${\sigma},\;{\tau},\;{\alpha},\;{\beta}$ be auto-morphisms of R. Suppose that $d_1$ is a (${\sigma},\;{\tau}$)-derivation and $d_2$ is a (${\alpha},\;{\beta}$)-derivation on R such that $d_{2}{\alpha}\;=\;{\alpha}d_2,\;d_2{\beta}\;=\;{\beta}d_2$. In this note it is shown that; (1) If $d_1d_2$(R) = 0 then $d_1$ = 0 or $d_2$ = 0. (2) If [$d_1(R),d_2(R)$] = 0 then R is commutative. (3) If($d_1(R),d_2(R)$) = 0 then R is commutative. (4) If $[d_1(R),d_2(R)]_{\sigma,\tau}$ = 0 then R is commutative.

  • The aims of this study are to develop the STEAM program focused '3D printing for respiratory system' and to ascertain its influence on elementary student's science process skills, creative problem solving abilities and scientific interest. The developed STEAM program was applied to 5th grade students of O elementary school located in J city. As a result of applying the STEAM program, the experimental group of the STEAM program class improved significantly in creative problem solving abilities and scientific interest than the control group of the theoretical class. The result of learner satisfaction survey of the STEAM program was high. Meanwhile, there was no significant difference in science process skills between the two groups. Therefore, the STEAM program class with the theme of '3D printing for respiratory system' could be meaningful works to encourage students' interest as well as their creative problem solving ability and scientific interest. In future, continuous and systematic studies on STEAM programs focused on 'structure and function of our body' are needed for elementary students' cognitive and affective developments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how three-dimensional gesture recognition technology, in children's traffic safety programs, can be an effective solution for instructing children in the safest ways to interact with traffic. In terms of traffic accidents, walking unaccompanied is the most dangerous traffic related activity for children. By using a three-dimensional serous game training program that implements gesture recognition, more accurate real life scenarios can be implemented in existing children's traffic training programs. The implementation of this technology will increase the possibility of changing the habits and attitudes of children, which in turn will lower the amount of walking related traffic accidents in children.

  • The present study explored whether the implementation of focused activities (intervention programme) can enhance 22 pre-service mathematics teachers' proficiency in solid geometry thinking level as well as change for the better their feelings in this discipline. Over a period of 6 weeks the pre-service teachers participated in activities and diversified experiences with 3D shapes, using illustration aids and actual experience of building 3D shapes in relation to the various spatial thinking levels. The research objectives were to investigate whether the intervention programme, comprising task-oriented activities of solid geometry, enhance mathematics pre-service teachers' mastery of their geometric thinking levels as well as examine their feelings towards this discipline before and after the intervention programme. The findings illustrate that learners' levels of geometric thinking can be promoted, entailing control on higher thinking levels as well as a more positive attitude towards this field.
