  • 현대 영상산업에서 컴퓨터 그래픽스가 차지하는 비중은 크게 늘어나고 있다. 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술의 발달로 인한 디지털 영화나 애니메이션이 점차 증가함에 따라 이러한 장면이 등장하는 가상캐릭터를 쉽게 접할 수 있다. 이런 가상 캐릭터를 이용하여 가상 해저 환경을 생성하기 위해서는 3D 모델링 및 애니메이션 기술을 개발해야 한다. 국내에서는 가상 해저 환경을 구축하여 실감 체험을 할 수 있는 VR 콘텐츠 기술 개발에 관련하여 군중 장면 처리 및 군중 행동 시스템의 설계 및 구현 등의 연구가 있었으나 군중 행동 모델러 기술 개발을 실용화 할 단계까지는 미치지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 가상 해저환경에 존재하는 다수의 캐릭터의 움직임을 수작업으로 제공하는 것이 시간과 비용이 많이 소요되기 때문에 이를 자동화하여 보다 사실적이고 효율적인 가상 해저환경 속에서 군중 행동 장면을 생성하기 위해서 Fish 군중 행동 모델러 기술을 개발한다.

PRIDE 3D Simulator for Virtual Verification of Remote Handling Procedures in Processing Cell (PRIDE 3D 시뮬레이터를 통한 공정셀 내부의 원격작업 가상검증)

  • The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) constructed the PyRoprocessing Integrated inactive Demonstration facility (PRIDE) to carry out experiments on engineering scale pyroprocessing. PRIDE has a large processing cell that human workers are not allowed to access, and thus the equipment inside is operated from outside using remote handling systems. It is therefore essential to examine the operability and maintainability of the equipment in view of remote handling systems, and the equipment is thoroughly examined in a mockup cell before it is installed in the processing cell. If the equipment is tested in a virtual mockup rather than in a mockup cell, the development cost can be significantly reduced. The PRIDE 3D simulator was integrated for virtual verification of equipment that will be installed in the processing cell. All remote handling devices in the actual PRIDE were also virtually installed in the PRIDE 3D simulator. The 3D model of the equipment was loaded and located in the exact position in the virtual processing cell. A scenario to replace an actual electrode was implemented in the PRIDE 3D simulator. The design of the equipment and the working procedures in the scenario were successfully evaluated. The results demonstrated that the PRIDE 3D simulator can be used successfully as an alternative to actual mockup testing.

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 스캔 없이 이미지 입력만을 사용한 개인 체형을 고려한 모바일 가상 착용 시스템의 전체 과정을 설계하고 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 이미지상 인물의 자세와 체형의 추정을 통하여 3차원 인체모델(SMPL)을 추정하는 최근의 방식을 이용하였고, 앞 뒷면 의상 이미지를 2차원 texture 매핑과 평면 triangle mesh로 복원하고 의상 봉제 (sewing) 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 3차원 의상 모델을 생성하는 방법을 새롭게 개발하였다. 또한 이를 활용한 3차원 개인화된 가상 착용 모바일 앱과 서비스를 Flask와 iOS 환경에서 SceneKit을 활용하여 개발하였다. 이를 통하여 단순히 의상의 매칭과 스타일 뿐 아니라 사이즈에 따른 착용 Fit을 구매 전에 확인할 수 있는 전체 서비스를 실현 및 검증하였다.

Virtual Viewpoint Image Synthesis Algorithm using Multi-view Geometry (다시점 카메라 모델의 기하학적 특성을 이용한 가상시점 영상 생성 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose algorithms for generating high quality virtual intermediate views on the baseline or out of baseline. In this proposed algorithm, depth information as well as 3D warping technique is used to generate the virtual views. The coordinate of real 3D image is calculated from the depth information and geometrical characteristics of camera and the calculated 3D coordinate is projected to the 2D plane at arbitrary camera position and results in 2D virtual view image. Through the experiments, we could show that the generated virtual view image on the baseline by the proposed algorithm has better PSNR at least by 0.5dB and we also could cover the occluded regions more efficiently for the generated virtual view image out of baseline by the proposed algorithm.

  • This study proposes a method for acquiring and managing basic information on building, which is continuously updated through construction and re-construction, in order to implement 3D-GIS based on geometric shape information and building information. First of all, distinctions between BIM and GIS information models are described, and then an overview of CityGML for virtual city and its Level of Detail are introduced. At last, a prototype for extracting building geometry from BIM data in accordance with CityGML is presented for demonstration. By using IFC data from BIM, this approach enables a lot of firms and contractors in building industry to utilize their 2D/3D, data on sites and buildings, and also to save many effects for generating exterior and interior building models which are inevitable for implementing National GIS.

  • The purpose of this paper is to implement Web 3D environment that is not provider - oriented but client-oriented in order to provide dynamic information and to analyze knowledges by executing programs on Web pages. For these, The 3D Viewer program that parses and renders ASE files - the most general 3D Model Data file and exported text file of 3D Max Studio - is made and then converted into ActiveX 3D Viewer Component that can be used on the Web. With the purpose of managing ASE and texture file efficiently and interacting between clients and server, ActiveX Component link ASP and Database with Web Service. The 3D View Web Service can make dynamic information and cooperative works easier in Networked Virtual Reality.

  • In this paper, we present the virtual dancing studio for distributed virtual environment. In this system, geographically distributed user shares the virtual dancing hall and interacts with each other. The participating object can be a graphical avatar or a live video stream. It allows the coexistence of graphic objects and real images in the shared virtual space. One of the main technical challenges in developing the distributed virtual environment is to handle excessive network traffic. In an effort to effectively reduce the network traffic, we propose a scheme to adjust the QoS of each object with respect to the distance from the observer in the virtual space. The server maintains the QoS vector for each client's shared space and controls the packet traffic to individual clients based on its QoS vectors. We develop a proto-type virtual dancing environment. Java based development enables the client to be platform independent. The result of experiment shows that the adoption of hierarchical QoS management significantly reduces the overall network traffic.

  • In this paper, we propose a digital human content creation system. The digital human content creation system works with 3D AI modeling through whole-body scanning, and is produced with 3D modeling post-processing, texturing, rigging. By combining this with virtual reality(VR) content information, natural motion of the virtual model can be achieved in virtual reality, and digital human content can be efficiently created in one system. Therefore, there is an effect of enabling the creation of virtual reality-based digital human content that minimizes resources. In addition, it is intended to provide an automated pre-processing process that does not require a pre-processing process for 3D modeling and texturing by humans, and to provide a technology for efficiently managing various digital human contents. In particular, since the pre-processing process such as 3D modeling and texturing to construct a virtual model are automatically performed by artificial intelligence, so it has the advantage that rapid and efficient virtual model configuration can be achieved. In addition, it has the advantage of being able to easily organize and manage digital human contents through signature motion.

  • 버츄얼 유튜버로서 자신의 동작을 3D 가상 캐릭터로 나타내고, SNS 에서 춤을 공유하는 경우가 많아졌다. 본 논문에서는 2D 영상에서 MediaPipe BlazePose 모델로 추정된 사람 포즈를 3D 인체 모델인 SMPL 에 피팅하여 사용자 정의 3D 모델을 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 통해 자신의 춤 영상으로 3D 모델을 생성하여 공유하거나, 기존의 춤 동영상으로 3D 모델을 생성하여 댄스 게임에 사용할 수 있다. 이처럼 본 기술은 예술 및 엔터테인먼트 분야에서 다양하게 활용될 수 있다.
