3, 4, 5세 유아의 과학적 문제해결과정을 통한 자성체와 비자성체에 대한 과학적 지식의 변화 (Changes in Scientific Knowledge During Young Children's Scientific Problem Solving with Magnetic and Nonmagnetic Objects)

  • This research examined age differences in the way 3-, 4-, 5-year-old children solve scientific problems involving magnetic and nonmagnetic objects. Their scientific process skills and scientific concepts were examined in 1) hypothesis setting, 2) hypothesis verification and 3) hypothesis application. Data was analyzed by one-way and two-way ANOVA and Scheffe. Children's scientific process skill presented differences by age in each phase of problem solving. That is, the scientific concept level demonstrated by 4-year-olds was higher than that of the 3-year-olds. That of the 5-year-olds was higher than the 4-year-olds. In addition, in all age groups, the children showed a higher level of understanding about magnetic and non-magnetic objects in the hypothesis application phase than in the hypothesis setting phase.

신체표현 연계 과학 활동이 만 3세 유아의 창의성에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Science Activities connected to Physical Expression on the Four-year-old Children's Creativity)

  • This study aimed to examine the effects of science activities connected to physical expression on the four-year-old children's creativity. This study conducted an observation of sixty-four children of four years of age attending the kindergartens in the city of Seoul. Thirty-seven were classified in the experimental group and the remaining twenty-seven were in the comparative group. For the statistical analysis of the data collected, the t-test and the analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) were conducted. The findings of this research are as follows. The children of the experimental group who experienced science activities connected to physical expression demonstrated higher score than those of the comparative group in creativity. The result of the research indicates that science activities connected to physical expression, for children, enhances their creativity. Therefore, science activities connected to physical expression can be an effective approach for creativity of young children.

유아복 치수 설정의 기초적 연구(I) -서울시내 4살~6살 아동을 중심으로- (A Basic Study on the nominal Size for the clothes for 4~6 Year-Old Children in Seoul)

  • This study is to obtain the basic-standard for establishing the nominal size of 4∼6 year-old children's clothes. From the results of the data analysis, we found the following points. 1) Almost all the items with respect to children's age show the significant level (α=0.01 or α=0.05), and it was also shown that boys are bigger than girls. 2) The correlation among all the parts of the body is strong in the case of the stature and the weight. 3) The upper arm girth of children for this study is larger than that of japanese children, and the posterior shoulder width and the crotch to ankle of children for this study are smaller than that of japanese children. 4) In time series change this study shows that the average sizes have increased continuously.

아동공원 계획의 기초적 연구 (A Basic Study on the Children′s Playground for Planning)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the principles of an arrangement planning for children's playgrounds which can be contributed to offer the recreation opportuqities to all urban children equally. The study is specially focused on the service radius and the inducement rate in children's playground. The data in this study were made into field survey, dividing the park users into preschool children (below 6- year-old)and school children (7 to 12-year - old), through six sampling places in Taegu City. The results are summarized as follows : The using distance was becoming shorter according as the dencity of population was becoming high. There wart 75% of the users to service radius 250m prescribing in the present City Park Law. The service radius of preschool children was 260m and that of school children was 300m in average. To investigate the effects of several attributes on the inducement of children's playground, three of six children's playgrounds were selected based on three attributes of those which were width of area, percentage of green coverage and the pattern of facility arrangment. Of three children's playgrounds, Sankyok 3- dong which had the highest percentage of green coverage, the greatest width of area and the corner type in the arrangement was a slight tendency to become the same in the inducement rate of the two age group. In the using pattern of this Sankyok 3-dong. preschool children usually used a play facility, on the contrary, school children showed the active play pattern by using space.

다문화 아동과 일반 아동의 발달 및 어린이집 부적응행동 비교 분석 (A Comparative Analysis on the Development and Maladaptive Behavior at Daycare Centers by Children of Multicultural and Non-multicultural Family Background)

  • 이 연구는 다문화 아동의 발달수준 및 어린이집 부적응행동 실태를 확인하기 위하여 경기도 김포시와 안산시에 소재한 34개 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 3-5세의 다문화 아동과 일반 아동 203명을 대상으로 WSS 발달적 체크리스트와 유아교육기관 생활적응행동검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 다문화 아동이 일반 아동에 비하여 인성 및 사회성, 언어 및 읽고 쓰기 영역에서 발달수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났으나 수리적 사고와 과학적 사고 발달에는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 연령별로는 3세에서는 다문화 아동과 일반 아동 간 발달의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 4세와 5세에서는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다문화 아동과 일반 아동의 어린이집 부적응행동 수준에는 차이가 없는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 하위영역별로 어린이집 적응 수준을 살펴보면 다문화 아동이 일반 아동에 비하여 또래협력 항목에서는 적응수준이 낮게 나타났으나 개인사회기술과 환경적응, 활동적응 영역에서는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 아동의 발달과 어린이집 부적응행동의 관계를 살펴본 결과 아동의 발달 수준이 낮을수록 어린이집에 부적응하는 것으로 나타났으며, 발달 영역 중 '인성 및 사회성'영역의 발달이 아동의 어린이집 부적응행동을 가장 잘 예측해주는 변인인 것으로 나타났다.

마음챙김이 유아기 자녀를 둔 부모의 스트레스 및 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Mindfulness on Perceived Stress and Psychological Well-Being in Parents with 3 to 5-Year-Old Children)

  • 본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부모들의 일상에서의 마음챙김이 스트레스와 심리적 안녕감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보는데 주목적을 두었다. 283명의 유아 학부모들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 이들의 관계를 분석하였는데, 확인된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 나이에 따른 유의미한 차이가 발견되었는데 40대가 20대, 30대보다 더 높은 마음챙김과 심리적 안녕감을 보고하였다. 둘째, 마음챙김은 스트레스와 부적 상관을 보이고 심리적 안녕감과는 정적 상관을 보였으며, 스트레스는 심리적 안녕감과 부적상관을 보였다. 셋째, 마음챙김은 심리적 안녕감에 직접적으로 긍정적 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 스트레스를 감소시켜 심리적 안녕감에 간접적인 영향을 미침이 확인되었다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제언을 논하였다.

3세${\sim}$8세 아동의 자유 발화 분석을 바탕으로 한 한국어 말소리의 빈도 관련 정보 (Phoneme Frequency of 3 to 8-year-old Korean Children)

  • The aim of this study is to provide some information on frequencies of occurrence for units of Korean phonemes and syllables analysing spontaneous speech spoken by 3 to 8-year-old Korean children. 49 Korean Children(7${\sim}$10 children for each age) were employed as subjects for this study. Speech data were recorded and phonemically transcribed. 120 utterances for each child were selected for analysis except one child whose data were only 91 utterances. The data size of the present study were 5,971 utterances, 5,1554 syllables, and 105491 phonemes. Among 19 consonants, /n/ showed highest frequency rate of these four conson ants were over 50% for all age groups. Among 18 vowels, /a/ was the most frequent one and /i/ and / ${\wedge}$ were the second and third respectively. The frequency rate of these four consonants were over 50% for all age groups. Frequently occurring syllable types were a part of grammatical word in most cases. Only 5${\sim}$6% of syllable types covered 50% of speech.

Ionescue-Shiley 조직판막의 환자 연령군에 따른 내구성에 관한 비교연 (Comparative Study of Durability of Bioprosthetic Valve Considering Age of Patients)

  • The principal feature of bioprosthetic valve which remains to be completely defined is long-term durability, especially, with regard to the impact of patient age. This report provides extended data regarding valve durability derived from a data base of 515 patients who received lonescu-Shiley bioprosthetic valve between 1978 and 1985; cumulative duration of follow-up was 1562.3 patient-years, with a maximum follow-up duration of 8.7 years. The results of this survey showed as follows: 1] The actuarial freedom from valve failure at 6 years were 43*7% for 0-19 year-old group, 70*1% for 20-39 year-old group and 75*1% for over 40 year-old group separately. 2] Of the causes of valve failure, only the primary tissue failure was markedly influenced by patient`s age [p<0.001], but the prosthetic valve endocarditis was not [p>0.1]. 3] The linealized incidences of primary tissue failure were 7.31% per patient-year in 0-19 year-old group and 0.12% in 20-39 year-old group. 4] The primary tissue failure rate in 0-19 year-old group was 6.36% during first 4 years, but then increased upto 10.95% at postoperative 5 year. Thus we find that in bioprosthetic valve the primary tissue failure is apt to occur when patient is young [especially less than 20 years old] and the postreplacement time passes [especially over 5 years]. The rate of bioprosthesis failure among children and adolescents is clearly higher than that observed in adult patients; however, conclusive quantification of time-related risk for young patient is not yet possible on the basis of existing data. Therefore, the advisability of bioprosthesis implantation in children remains to be determined.

성남시 보건소 유아구강보건사업 개발을 위한 구강건강실태에 관한 조사연구 (A epidemiological study on the oral health in preschool children for the development of community based oral health program in Sungnam city)

  • Dental caries causes the majority of tooth loss among Koreans. Korea is experiencing an increase in dental caries. And it shows a high prevalence of caries in preschool children, which contrasted with the much-improved situation in developed countries. So, it is important to control caries from preschool periods in Korea. Recently, inspections of the teeth of preschool children for evidence of dental disease became a legislative duty in Korea following Oral Health Act(2000). But, standardized oral health programs in preschool children is not yet proposed. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an community based oral health program in preschool children. The purpose of this study was to obtain basic data for the development of community based oral health program in preschool children of Sungnam city. Oral health status in primary dentition were surveyed in 862 2-6 year-old preschool children of Sungnam city by WHO criteria. From the data, df rate, percentage of preschool child ren with active caries, dft index, dt rate, percentage of preschool children with pit and fissure sealant of each age were calculated, and discussed. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The experience of dental caries in primary dentition showed a tendency to increase quickly between 2 and 3 year old children. So, the oral health program in preschool children should be developed to prevent dental caries and control their oral health under three years of age. 2. In 5 year-old children, the percentage with active caries was 60.8% and dft index was 5.06. The dt rate showed a tendency to decrease as proportion to age, but even though 6 year-old children, the dt rate was 47.7%. Therefore, the annual screening dental examination and oral health education programs at the institution for preschool children should be developed to detect and treat dental caries in primary dentition at early stage. 3. The percentage of preschool children with pit and fissure sealant at six years of age was 10.2%. So, pit and fissure sealant and professional fluoride application programs in Public Health Center should be developed to prevent dental caries. 4. Also, it is necessary to establish oral health goals in preschool children and develop water fluoridation program 10 improve and preserve oral health of preschool children in Seongnam city, effectively.

주의력결핍-과잉행동 아동의 범주화와 가족환경 특성 (Classification and Family Characteristics of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify preschool children can be classified of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) children across situation. It also was to examine differences among groups according to sex and age, and to investigate the family caracterisitcs of ADHD groups. The subjects of this study consisted of 228 preschool chilren (147 boys and 136 girls aged from 3- to 7- year-old) drawn from five Child Care Centers in Chung-Ju. Data were analyzed by the frequency, percentages, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, ${\chi}^2$-test, F-test, Tukey post-hoc test, and Pearson correlation using SAS program. The results were as follows: 1. Preschool children could be classified by four diagnostic groups across situation; (1) 168 children (59%) of the control group (no disorder of ADHD), (2) 49 children (17%) of ADHD-Home group (ADHD only at home), (3) 43 children (15%) of ADHD-School group (ADHD only at school), and (4) 23 children (8%) of ADHD-PH group (ADHD both at home and at school). Ratings by parents and by teachers correlated very low with each other, as in previous studies. These results confirm the findings that ADHD be classified across situation. 2. There were significant differences among four groups according to sex and age. In the ADHD-PH groups, the boys is 3 times higher than the girls and the children aged 6- to 7-year-old was shown highly distributed in the pervasive ADHD.
