This study aims to perform damage identification for Da-Sheng-Guan (DSG) high-speed railway truss arch bridge using fuzzy clustering analysis. Firstly, structural health monitoring (SHM) system is established for the DSG Bridge. Long-term field monitoring strain data in 8 different cases caused by high-speed trains are taken as classification reference for other unknown cases. And finite element model (FEM) of DSG Bridge is established to simulate damage cases of the bridge. Then, effectiveness of one fuzzy clustering analysis method named transitive closure method and FEM results are verified using the monitoring strain data. Three standardization methods at the first step of fuzzy clustering transitive closure method are compared: extreme difference method, maximum method and non-standard method. At last, the fuzzy clustering method is taken to identify damage with different degrees and different locations. The results show that: non-standard method is the best for the data with the same dimension at the first step of fuzzy clustering analysis. Clustering result is the best when 8 carriage and 16 carriage train in the same line are in a category. For DSG Bridge, the damage is identified when the strain mode change caused by damage is more significant than it caused by different carriages. The corresponding critical damage degree called damage threshold varies with damage location and reduces with the increase of damage locations.
There are several methods in the mathematical modeling of a satellite with flexible appendages. In this paper, the hybrid Lagrange's equations of motion using assumed modes method are derived. The assumed modes method is one of approximate methods which have shorter calculation time due to low-dimension compare with FEM. These consist of three-equations about angular velocities and two-equations about flexible deformations, and physically represent interaction between hub and solar panel. In an attitude control, a control law is designed to minimize a given performance index considering not only control input but also vibration suppression. For these purpose, this paper applies LQG and LQG/LTR schemes to this model and finally show the capability for attitude control including vibration suppression. Especially, this paper shows the method of assumption as nonsingular system through singular value division for LQG/LTR design.

In this study, in order to develop an non-slip metal grating, the stability of the grating according to the span of the grating and the gap and height of the bearing bar was evaluated. The optimal shape design of the grating was performed using the results of determining the stability of the grating. The purpose of this study is to determine the stability according to the spacing and height of the bearing bar by applying the design pressure at the design stage to develop the anti-skid grating, and to design the optimal shape for cost reduction. In the optimal design, the target variable was set as the mass, and the optimal design of the grating was performed based on about 20%. Regardless of the height of the bearing bar of the grating, the stress and deformation of the span and the grating showed a proportional tendency to each other, and it was found that the stress decreased as the height of the bearing bar increased. Based on the structural analysis results, an optimal design was performed using mass as the objective variable, and the existing 2mm thickness was changed to 1.6mm, reducing the mass by about 19%. The stress increased by about 4.4% compared to the maximum stress of the existing grating, but the minimum safety factor was 3.1, indicating that the optimally designed grating was stable.
The objective of this study is to investigate the structural behavior of the composite slabs with the new-shaped deckplate. In order to examine the deckplate as structural members, the composite slabs with new-shaped deckplate are compared and verified with the international design codes, and the simple inertia-moment equation of the composite slabs is suggested from the regression analysis of the results of the experiments. Besides, the finite element analysis was added on the purpose of the observation of structural behavior of the section items such as the Locking rib and the Dovetail. 36 experiments of composite slabs were performed with two new-type deckplates. And the finite-element analysis was performed by ABAQUS package with the function of the 3-dimension solid modeling.

A design and analysis for new foot sensor that measures pressure distribution while walking or running in daily life is introduced. In the process of the sensor design, the shape, mechanism composing of the sensor, and variables that dominate sensor's sensitivity are investigated. Through these variables analysis, an optimal shape and dimension were determined. The effects of variables on sensor's sensitivity and the relationship between each variable are proved by analyses and experiments.
The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of bearing capacity of shallow foundation on the grounds. We made a comparative study of existing bearing capacity theory, based on the three-dimensional finite element analysis with a variety of conditions such as ground condition, foundation scale and foundation shape. In the finite element analysis, the ultimate bearing capacity showed a gradual convergence in the form of exponential function or logarithm function according to the foundation scale. Although the shear strength increased, the bearing capacity tended not to increase but change linearly. In the results of comparative study of existing bearing capacity theory, bearing capacity ratio ($q_{u(FEA)}/q_{u(theory)}$) of pure sand has the outcome closest to those of the Terzaghi method. Pure clay turned out to be about 0.4~0.6 while normal soil was changed in a range of 0.3~1.3. As shear strength is increased, the results turned out to be less than 1.0. Bearing capacity ratio ($q_u/q_{u(1.0)}$), normalized at 1.0m bearing capacity, was about 35%, 15% and 5% of theoretical formula under the condition of ${\phi}=25^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $35^{\circ}$ of pure sand; no scale effect was found with pure clay and the normal soil with lower soil strength level showed less than 10% of the theoretical formula of pure sand. Bearing capacity ratio of each case, in accordance with, the shear strength increase, was largely influenced by the internal friction angle. Shape factor of bearing capacity ratios classified by foundation shapes have different results according to the shapes; the shape factor of circular foundation is 1.50, square foundation is 1.30, rectangular and continuous foundations are 1.1~1.0.

This paper reports a methodology and its application for extracting cell capacitances and parasitic capacitances in a stacked DRAM cell structure by a numerical technique. To calculate the cell and parasitic capacitances, we employed finite element method (FEM), The three-dimensional DRAM cell structure is generated by solid modeling based on two-dimensional mask layout and transfer data. To obtain transfer data for generating three-dimensional simulation structure, topography simulation is performed. In this calculation, an exemplary structure comprising 4 cell capacitors with a dimension of $2.25{\times}1.75{\times}3.45{\mu}m^3$, 70,078 nodes with 395,064 tetrahedra were used in ULTRA SPARC 10 workstation. The total CPU time for the simulation was about 25 minutes, while the memory size of 201MB was required. The calculated cell capacitance is 24.34fF per cell, and the influential parasitic capacitances in a stacked DRAM cell are investigated.
Magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) don't get very public face on the field of non-volatile memory. Because recording capacity of MRAM is smaller than other non-volatile memory and structurally, magnetic efficiency of MRAM is very bad. We diminish a size of one cell in order to make MRAM of high recording capacity. But It don't make high recording field in general structures consisting of two current wire. Accordingly, We make a cell of small size is impossible. In this paper, we suggest new MRAM that it have two pole of high permeability on both ends of recording layer. Because magnetic efficiency of new MRAM is higher than exiting MRAM, it can make high recording field. And we can diminish the size of one cell due to recording layer of high coercivity. We used three-dimension finite element method to prove the reliability.

In this paper, numerical results of sectional analysis and stress recovery were compared with the results of VABS through the blade analysis library. The results of recovery analysis for one-dimensional model including the stiffness matrix is compared with the calculated three-dimensional stress results of three-dimensionial FEM based on the principle of virtual work. We discuss the configuration of the blade analysis library and compare verifications of numerical analysis results of VABS. Blade analysis library through dimensional reduction and stress recovery is intended to be utilized in conjunction with pre- and post-processing of the analysis program of the composite blade, high-altitude uav's wing, wind blades and tilt rotor blade.
Restorative procedures can lead to weakening tooth due to reduction and alteration of tooth structure. It is essential to prevent fractures to conserve tooth. The resistance to fracture of the restored tooth may be influenced by many factors, among these are the cavity dimension and the physical properties of the restorative material. The placement of direct composite resin restorations has generally been found to have a strengthening effect on the prepared teeth. It is the purpose of this investigation to study the relationship between the cavity isthmus and the fracture resistance of a tooth in composite resin restorations. In this study, MO cavity was prepared on maxillary first premolar. Three dimensional finite element models were made by serial photographic method and isthmus(1/4, 1/3, 1/2 of intercuspal distance) were varied. Two types of model(B and R model) were developed. B model was assumed perfect bonding between the restoration and cavity wall and R model was left unfilled. A load of 500N was applied vertically at the first node from the lingual slope of the buccal cusp tip. This study analysed the displacement, 1 and 2 direction normal stress and strain with FEM software ABAQUS Version 5.2 and hardware IRIS 4D/310 VGX Work-station. The results were as follows : 1. Displacement of buccal cusp in R model occurred and increased as widening of the cavity, and displacement in B model was little and not influenced by cavity width. 2. There was a significant decrease of stress resulting in increase of fracture resistance in B model when compared with R model. 3. With the increase of the isthmus width, B model showed no change in the stress and strain. In R model, the stress and strain increased both in the area of buccal-pulpal line angle and the buccal side of marginal ridge, therefore the possibility of crack increased. 4. The stress and strain were distributed evenly on the tooth in B model, but in R model, were concentrated on the buccal side of the distal marginal ridge and buccal-pulpal line angle, therefore the possibility of fracture increased.
