3차원 측정 데이터를 이용한 자유곡면 가공물의 오차해석 (Error Analysis of Free-Form Artifact using 3D Measurement Data)

  • The Accuracy of a free-form artifact is affected by machine tool errors, machining process errors, environmental causes and other uncertainty. This paper deals with methodological approach about machine tool errors that are defined the relationship between CMM and OMM inspections of the free-form artifact. In order to analyze the measurement data, Reverse engineering was used. In other words, Surface of Free-Form Artifact is generated by NURBS surface approximation method. Finally, Volumetric error map is made to compare surface of CMM data with that of OMM data.

코너부 모깍기 엔드밀가공시 가공정밀도의 최적조건에 관한 연구 (A study on the optimal conditions for machining accuracy when endmill fillet cutting at the corner)

  • Endmill fillet cutting at the corner was conducted with the online measurement of cutting forces and tool deflection by a tool dynamometer and an eddy current sensor system. The profile of the machined surface was also compared with the CAD profile with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and CALYPSO software. It was found that the end mill cutter with four blades has a better surface profile than that with two blades, and the cutting forces and tool deformation were increased as the cutting speed was increased. When the tool located at the degree $45^{\circ}$ corner was found to conduct the maximum cutting force than started to the point of the workpiece. As it was compared with the CMM and ANOVA analysis result in the case that the cutting force and tool deformation was the maximum, it was found that the result was affected by the spindle speed and the number of blades.

  • The measuring method of large object using the pattern matching is discussed in the paper. It is hard and expensive to get the complete 3D data when the object is large or exceeds the limit of measuring devices. The large object is divided into several smaller areas and is scanned several times to get the data of all the pieces. These data are aligned to get the complete 3D data using the pattern matching method. The point pattern matching method and transform matrix algorithm are used for aligning. The laser slit beam and CCD camera is applied for experimental measurement. Visual C++ on Window98 is implemented in processing the algorithm.

  • The authors have realized reconstruction of 3D shape using contacting method with pins and TCP/IP communication. In this paper, the working principal of the mechanism is proposed and tested. A special sensor system is designed as 148 matrix form to measure 3D shape. When contact occurs between pin and the plate of the sensor matrix, the position information of pins is sent to computer and raised height data of the pin is obtained by counter which accumlates encoder signal. So, all datum which contain 3-dimensional coordinate, is transferred using TCP/IP communication. Finally, 3D shape is reconstructured by Web browser of remote computer. The measuring result shows that the proposed mechanism is reliable and promising as a remote measuring device through Internet.

  • Acquisition of 3D points is an essential process for modelling of physical 3D objects. Although Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM) is most accurate for this purpose, it is very time consuming. To enhance the data aquisition speed for scuptured surfaces, active vision with reflecctometric method was used for our system. A fter the data acquisition, the system automatically generates cutting tool path for the 3-axis milling of the object. The fullyintegrated system from the data acquisition to the NC-code generation was implemented with IBN-PC/386 and necessary hardwears.

전차용 엔진클러치 암플랜지 생산성 향상을 위한 연구 (Improvement in Productivity of Engine Clutch Female Flanges for Tank)

  • The tank engine clutch flange constitutes a tank on which the engine and transmission of the tank are mounted. The engine clutch flange is fabricated using a difficult-to-cut material that exhibits high strength and hardness. It is difficult to process and requires considerable processing expertise. In addition, the engine clutch flange for the tank requires high machining precision because it is a system in which the connection is detachable. Because it requires high processing precision, the measurement of products equally important as processing. However, productivity is low owing to the significant amount of time required to measure each product using a three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine. Hence, this study is conducted to improve the productivity of the female tank engine clutch flange. Dedicated hobs and jigs are designed and manufactured to convert the existing end-mill cutting processing into hobbing cutting processing. An engine clutch for the tanks is manufactured using the manufactured dedicated hob and jig, and the shortening time is verified by measuring the processing time. In addition, a jig for inspection is designed and manufactured to measure the precision of the product. To verify the inspected product, the product precision is measured using a contact-type three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine and a surface roughness measuring instrument. The study confirmed that the productivity of the engine clutch flange product for tanks can be improved by simplifying the process, reducing the processing time, and simplifying product inspection.

An Ultraprecise Machining System with a Hexapod Device to Measure Six-Degree-Of-Freedom Relative Motions Between The Tool And Workpiece

  • A machining system that generates accurate relative motions between the tool and workpiece is required to realize ultra precise machining or measurements. Accuracy improvements for each element of the machine are also required. This paper proposes a machining system that uses a compensation device for the six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion error between the tool and workpiece. The compensation device eliminates elastic and thermal errors of the joints and links due to temperature fluctuations and external forces. A hexapod parallel kinematics mechanism installed between the tool spindle and surface plate is passively actuated by a conventional machine. Then the parallel mechanism measures the 6-DOF motions. We describe the conception and fundamentals of the system and test a passively extensible strut with a compensation device for the joint errors.

  • 정밀한 3차원 좌표측정을 위한 삼차원좌표측정기(Coordinate Measuring Machine)는 광학 스케일이나 헤테로다인 레이저 간섭계를 이용해서 x, y, z 축의 좌표를 측정한다. 이 경우 측정 정밀도에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요인은 아베 오차(Abbe's error)이다. 인공위성용 광학계를 비롯해서 첨단 산업부품에 이르기까지 현재의 3차원 좌표측정은, 높은 정밀도와 대영역 측정을 동시에 요구하는 추세이다. 대영역으로 갈수록 _아베 오차의 영향은 더 커지므로 보다 근본적인 해결책이 필요하다.(중략)

힘 센서를 이용한 CMM용 프로브 개발을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the CMM Probe using Force-Sensor)

  • In this paper, a mechanical probe for CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) with a three-axis force-sensing unit is proposed, which is capable of measuring an actual contact position without the lobbing effect and the pre-travel error. The force-sensing unit detects the external force, which is act on the stylus of CMM during the measuring process. Thus, the contact point of the stylus of CMM can be estimated ken the direction of measured force components. Based on the structural analysis of the proposed CMM probe, the transformation matrix is derived and calibrated so that it shows linear relationships between the estimated force components from the output voltages and the real input forces. And, the relationships are verified through the computer simulation. The results show that the proposed mechanical probe is very useful fur detecting the contacting force components on measuring process of CMM.

한국형 교정치료용 Bracket의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study for the development of the Korean orthodontic bracket)

  • 한국인의 치열의 특성을 고려한 Straight-Wire Appliance(SWA)의 제작을 위한 자료를 얻기 위하여 18세 이상 25세 사이의 한국인 성인 정상교합자를 1) 구강악안면부에 기능장애가 없고, 2) 양호한 치열궁 형태와 긴밀한 구치부 교합관계를 가지며, 3) 교합이 전후방적으로 앵글 분류 I 급의 관계를 가지며, 4) 간단한 수복 치료 외에 교정치료나 보철치료를 받지 않았으며, 특히 치아의 순면과 협면의 형태에 변형을 초래한 치과 치료를 받지 않았으며, 5) 단정한 안모를 가진 자를 선발 기준으로 정하여 선발하였다. 선정된 정상 교합자의 상, 하악 인상을 채득하고, 교정용 석고 모형을 제작하였다. 얻어진 치과 석고모형을 분석하여, Andrews의 Six keys to optimal occlusion에 부합되는 표본을 5 명의 숙련된 교정의사들이 선별하여 한국인 성인 정상교합자 치열의 석고 모형 155쌍(남자 92쌍,여자 63쌍)을 얻었다. 이들을 대상으로 정밀측정장비인 Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM, MPC802, WEGU-Messtechnik, Germany)을 이용하여 3차원 digitization을 시행하고, 계측프로그램을 작성하여 SWA 제작을 위하여 필요한 Angulation, Inclination, In-and-Out, Molar offset angle, Arch-form 등을 측정하였다. 측정을 시행하기 전에, CMM을 이용한 3차 원 digitization의 오차에 대한 검증을 실시하였고, 3차원 digitization과 컴퓨터를 이용한 형태학적 분석법과 기존의 수작업에 의한 분석법의 신뢰도에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 이상의 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 치과 석고모형의 3차원 digitization에 CMM을 적용하여 mesh size 0.25 mm, 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm로 등간격 디지타이징하는 것은 모두 받아들일 수 있으며, 측정의 효율성을 고려할 때 1.0 mm간격으로 등간격 디지타이징 하는 것이 바람직하다. 2. 3차원 digitization과 컴퓨터를 이용한 방법이 Andrews의 방법에 기반한 수작업 방법보다 신뢰성이 높다. 3. 3차원 digitization과 컴퓨터를 이용한 방법으로 한국인의 치열의 형태학적 특성에 맞는 SWA의 제작을 위한 자료를 채득하였다.
