A Case Study on Application of Realistic Content to Space Design (실감형콘텐츠의 공간디자인 적용사례연구)

  • In a digital multimedia environment with various experiences and communication, We live in an age where it is possible to experience from imagination to reality realizable by imagination. The remarkable technology based on ICT has been attracting attention as next generation video service technology from 3DTV, UHD TV, and hologram. These media, combined with space design, are able to offer us amazing and diverse experiences. In addition, now, there is a demand for more differentiated contents using human five senses recognition technology. We analyzed the application of realistic contents to space design. As a result, we have come to the conclusion that creative production which can express more fun and convenient will be an important issue.

A Study on Construction & Management of Urban Spatial Information Based on Digital Twin (디지털트윈 기반의 도시 공간정보 구축 및 관리에 관한 연구)

  • The Seoul Metropolitan Government is building and operating digital twin-based urban spatial information to solve various problems in the city and provide public services. Two essential factors to ensure the stable utilization of spatial information for the implementation of such a digital twin city are the latest and quality of the data. However, it is time-consuming and costly to maintain continuous updating of high-quality urban spatial information. To overcome this problem, we studied efficient urban spatial information construction technology and the operation, management, and update procedures of construction data. First, we demonstrated and applied automatic 3D building construction technology centered on point clouds using the latest hybrid sensors, confirmed that it is possible to automatically construct high-quality building models using high-density airborne lidar results, and established an efficient data management plan. By applying differentiated production methods by region, supporting detection of urban change areas through Seoul spatial feature identifiers, and producing international standard data by level, we strengthened the utilization of urban spatial information. We believe that this study can serve as a good precedent for local governments and related organizations that are considering activating urban spatial information based on digital twins, and we expect that discussions on the construction and management of spatial information as infrastructure information for city-level digital twin implementation will continue.

  • The visualization of Moire or laser-scanned data has been explored by many researchers and has been an important issue on computer graphics research. In this paper, we present various techniques that handle tremendous amount of 3D range data which are generated by the ETRI- Moire Scanner. The techniques include constructing an efficient data structure, constructing triangle meshes and decimation and registration of multiple-view range images and textures.

  • Recent the free-formed architecture is smearing as a trend with the development of the digital equipment and technologies. The development of new method based on digital technology is required for the free-formed structure,, because the conventional construction methods are limited to shorten the construction period and to ensure the construction quality. Particularly, the development of the new method for the free-formed concrete structure is important. In this study, the developed method of the T-shape lightweight steel fabricated using CNC can control the geometries of the free-formed concrete structure based on the digital design. Also, new method is effective to ensure the precision of the construction and economic than the conventional construction methods.

  • Free Use License is an effective means of allowing many people to freely use works in the public domain. It can also prevent copyright infringement problems. This article analyzes the current service and domestic and foreign technology as it applies to free use license. It then proposes a plan which incorporates diverse requirements including technical aspects. Strategies are formulated from the technical, service and the resources connection perspectives for applying license in addition to searching and using licensed works. This article suggests a three-stage utilization plan to encourage the use of free use license. First, a connection plan between digital archiving and free use license, is developed. Then, a connection plan between UCI identifier and free use license is developed, and finally, the plan for the use of public resources is presented.

  • Aerial photogrammetry, which is one of the most frequent used technology in mapping and surveying, has been appreciated for its work flow and accuracy to generate 2D and 3D geospatial data. In aerial photograrnrnetry, more than two photographs are taken over the same target area in different position with overlap. Using these photographs and minimum number of ground control points, 3D stereo model is so formed that the ground surface in reality is reconstructed through analogue/analytical plotter or digital photogrammetry system. In case of digital photogrammetry system, 3D geospatial data could be automatically extracted in partial. Recently, in the advent of aerial digital camera such as ADS40 and DMC, digital photogrammetry system will be in the frist place for generating 3D geospatial data. In this paper, we experimentally generated 3D geospatial data using digital photograrnrnetry system in the aspect of work flow.

메타버스(Metaverse)와 방송 미디어

  • 메타버스 서비스란 '가상', '초월' 등을 뜻하는 영어 단어 '메타(Meta)'와 우주를 뜻하는 '유니버스(Universe)'의 합성어다. 현실세계와 같은 사회.경제.문화 활동이 이루어지는 3차원의 가상세계를 의미한다. 코로나 상황 속에서 비대면 소통의 수단 중 하나로 주목받으며 업무, 친목, 각종 행사 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 2022년 신년 사업 계획에서 메타버스 단어가 들어가지 않은 곳이 없다고 한다. 그만큼 핵심 키워드로 떠오르고 있다. 즉, 메타버스는 현실을 초월한 가상의 세계로 스마트폰, 컴퓨터 등 디지털 미디어에 담긴 세계를 뜻한다. 세상은 점차 바뀌어 가고 있다. 글로벌 통계 전문 업체 스태티스타는 2021년 307억 달러(약 35조 3265억 원) 규모이던 메타버스 시장 규모가 2025년에는 약 2969억 달러(약 341조 6428억 원)까지 커질 것으로 예측하였다. 현재 시장에서 통용되고 있는 메타버스에 대한 정의는, '현실세계의 사회·경제·문화적 활동이 유사하게 실현되거나, 현실에서 제공하지 못하는 경험을 제공하는 3차원 디지털 가상공간'으로 요약된다. 2021년의 메타버스는 더 이상 상상의 영역이 아니며, 현실세계 영역으로 침투하고 있는 것이다. 현실세계와 연결되는 가상세계, 실재감을 느낄 수 있는 가상공간이 점점 현실이 되어가고 있다. 1990년대 처음으로 등장한 메타버스 개념이 2020년대에 재부상 하였는데, 과거의 메타버스보다 몰입감과 실재감 있는 경험을 제공할 수 있는 XR 기술의 결합에 대한 기대감 때문이다. 지나온 30여 년간 메타버스가 뜨거운 주목을 받게 된 이유는 기술의 발전에 있다. 초고속인터넷 5G 상용화와 더불어 6G 출현, 가상현실, 증강현실이 일상에 스며들었기 때문이다. 이러한 기술 발달은 현실세계의 물리적 객체와 가상의 객체가 상호 작용할 수 있는 혼합현실까지 발전시키는 촉매제가 되었다. 여기에 지난 2년 동안 전 세계를 강타한 코로나19로 인해 비대면, 온라인 서비스가 확산되면서 메타버스는 개념이 아닌, 우리 일상의 한 부분으로 인정받게 되었다. 현재 우리 사회는 과거에는 불가능하다고 생각했던 사회적 거리두기, 재택근무, 온라인 수업 등을 진행하면서 이렇게도 사회가 돌아갈 수 있다는 것을 점차 느껴가고 있다. 더불어 현재 코로나로 인해 멀게만 느껴졌던 메타버스 세계를 반강제적으로 경험하고 있기도 하다. 이처럼 본 고에서는 최근에 나타난 메타버스를 이해하고 방송미디어(계)와 접목된 유형과 기술적, 서비스 사례를 파악하고, 주요 기업들의 추진 방향, 주요 시사점 및 결론으로 도출해보았다.

Making Method of Deterioration Map and Evaluation Techniques of Surface and Three-dimensional Deterioration Rate for Stone Cultural Heritage (석조문화유산의 손상지도 제작방법과 표면 및 3차원 손상율 평가기법)

  • This study focus on the suggestion of standard legend, the process system on making method of deterioration map, the development of crack index (CI), and the evaluation techniques of surface and 3D deterioration rate for stone cultural heritage. The standard legends of deterioration forms were made using a common graphic program after crack, blistering, scaling, break-out, granular disintegration, and perforation were subdivided. The deterioration map improved accuracy and reliability on deterioration range using 3D digital restoration and high resolution photograph mapping technique. Also, quantitative deterioration evaluation of stone cultural heritage was carried out developing the crack index, and the 3D deterioration rate of a break-out part was calculated by virtual restoration modeling. As a quantitative deterioration evaluation of Magoksa Temple stone pagoda based on the results described above, the north face showed high deterioration rate of bursting crack (1.70), hair crack (1.34), scaling (20.2%) and break out (13.0%), and the 3D deterioration rate of first roof stone was 6.7%.

  • As leisure boats become large-scaled and high value-added, their design requirements gradually get more complicated and accordingly their manufacturing processes get more complicated than those of existing ones. Leisure boat builders overseas make efforts to overcome this circumstance by establishing a 3-D model-based design system which is based on the concept of PLM. On the other hand, Korean shipbuilders still remain in the development process of traditional leisure boats which are mainly based on 2-D drawings. There have been some efforts made to have the 3-D model-based design system; however, they belong to a very early stage. This study carried out initial research to apply DMU technology to the development process of leisure boats. It established the design process based on a DMU model and proved its usefulness through a case study on the design of 40-ft class aluminum leisure boats.

  • 코로나-19와 4차 산업혁명 시대가 진행되면서 가상 현실에 대한 사람들의 관심이 나날이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 디지털화의 핵심 기술로 Digital twin과 Metaverse 기술의 중요성이 제고되고 있다. 현재 Metaverse를 사용한 다양한 기술이 개발되면서 적용 범위가 확대되고 있다. 미래에 Metaverse는 가상공간의 주류가 될 것이다. 이에 본 논문은 기존의 실감형 콘텐츠로 접근하고 있는 가상현실을 Digital twin을 기반한 Metaverse platform으로서의 무한한 가능성을 제안한다. 언제 어디서나 사용자의 접근이 가능하고 자유로운 이동, 회전을 통해 현실에서의 경험을 가상공간에서 이어갈 수 있는 Platform을 개발하였다.
