A Study on Urban Noise Visualization using 3D-GIS (3차원 GIS를 활용한 도시소음 시각화에 관한 연구)

  • The noise problem is one of the major problems associated with large cities and is considered important factor not only in maintenance but also in development of cities. Accordingly, the noise map is being increasingly used in city planning and design. However, the existing two-dimensional noise maps only show regional, planar distribution of noise. This study presented a method to build a data model for analyzing and visualizing noise levels at fine scale considering the vertical distribution of noise in a building. By expanding the 2D topology concept used in conventional GIS to 3D, it suggested a 3D GIS data model that makes 3D spatial queries, analyses and visualization possible and applied the proposed approach to building a 3D noise information system. By building and testing the system, the study showed different functionalities including 3D spatial queries and 3D visualization of noise levels varying temporally or according as the height of sound-proof walls. In each case, the population exposed to noise was quantitatively computed to illustrate the potential in the areas of city planning and design.

  • 본 논문에서는 구글 탱고 플랫폼을 이용한 실내 3차원 지도 취득과 이를 이용한 증강 내비게이션을 구현하는 방법을 제시한다. 취득한 3차원 지도는 가공을 통해 서버로 전송된다. 내비게이션은 초기 위치를 QR 코드로 파악하고 목적지와의 관계를 통해 가속도 센서와 방향 센서를 사용하여 올바른 길로 인도한다. 증강현실을 구현하기 위해 길 안내화면은 기기의 카메라를 통해 현실을 배경으로 하였고, OpenGL ES 라이브러리를 활용하여, 직진, 좌회전, 우회전 총 세 개의 화살표를 렌더링 한 후 카메라위에 중첩하였다. 증강 내비게이션을 통해 사용자는 스마트폰의 화면만 보고 실내에서 안전하게 장애물을 피하며 빠르게 목적지까지 도착할 수 있게 된다.

3D Building Modeling Using LIDAR Data and Digital Map (LIDAR 데이터와 수치지도를 이용한 3차원 건물모델링)

  • This paper presents a method for point-based 3D building reconstruction using Lidar data and digital map. The proposed method consists of three processes: extraction of building roof points, identification of roof types, and 3D building reconstruction. After extracting points inside the polygon of building, the ground surface, wall and tree points among the extracted points are removed through the filtering process. The filtered points are then fitted into the flat plane using ODR(Orthogonal Distance Regression) in the first place. If the fitting error is within the predefined threshold, the surface is classified as a flat roof. Otherwise, the surface is fitted and classified into a gable or arch roof through RMSE analysis. Experimental results showed that the proposed method classified successfully three different types of roof and that the fusion of LIDAR data and digital map could be a feasible method of modeling 3D building reconstruction.

A Study on the Stereo Image Map Generation of Chuncheon Area using Satellite Overlay Images (위성영상을 이용한 춘천지역의 3차원 입체영상지도 생성에 관한 연구)

  • Satellite remote sensing images have much more information compared to a paper map. But these images are generally handled as particular image format gained from optical sensor, and must be processed and analyzed by computer with high priced digital image processing system. For the extraction of digital elevation model(DEM) from satellite image, we used the overlay image by SPOT-3 of Chuncheon area at the Kangwon province. According to the image condition, the precious geometric correction, the bundle adjustment for ortho-image generation and the stereo image mapping by several technical approaches were processed. So that we developed the methods of automatic DEM extraction and efficient stereo image map generation which can improve the digital image processing steps. Also, we applied the multiple direction birdeye view image for modeling and analysis using the remotely sensed overlay images with high resolution.

Correction of Geometric Distortion of Internet Aerial Imagery and Photo-Realistic 3D Building Modeling (인터넷 항공영상의 왜곡보정과 실감적 3차원 건물 모델링)

  • Many internet portals provide maps with spatial information services. Recently, various images including aerial, satellite, street view, and photo-realistic 3D city models are provided as well as maps. This study suggested a method for geometric correction of the panoramic aerial images in the internet portal and 3D building modeling using information which is available in the internet. The key of this study is to obtain all necessary data easily from internet without restrictions. Practically, the ground control coordinates could be available from geo-referenced internet maps, and stereo pairs of the aerial images and close-range photographs for photo-realistic object modeling are provided by the internet service. However, the ground control points are not suitable for accurate mapping. RMSE of the plotting was about 9 meters and reduced upto 4 meters after coordinate transformation. The proposed methods would be applicable to various applications of photo-realistic object modeling which do not require high accuracy.

Stereoscopic Conversion of Monoscopic Video using Edge Direction Histogram (에지 방향성 히스토그램을 이용한 2차원 동영상의 3차원 입체변환기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for creating stereoscopic video from a monoscopic video. Parallel straight lines in a 3D space get narrower as they are farther from the perspective images on a 2D plane and finally meet at one point that is called a vanishing point. A viewer uses depth perception clues called a vanishing point which is the farthest from a viewer's viewpoint in order to perceive depth information from objects and surroundings thereof to the viewer. The viewer estimates the vanishing point with geometrical features in monoscopic images, and can perceive the depth information with the relationship between the position of the vanishing point and the viewer's viewpoint. In this paper, we propose a method to estimate a vanishing point with edge direction histogram in a general monoscopic image and to create a depth map depending on the position of the vanishing point. With the conversion method proposed through the experimental results, it is seen that stable stereoscopic conversion of a given monoscopic video is achieved.

Extraction of 3D Objects Around Roads Using MMS LiDAR Data (MMS LiDAR 자료를 이용한 도로 주변 3차원 객체 추출)

  • Making precise 3D maps using Mobile Mapping System (MMS) sensors are essential for the development of self-driving cars. This paper conducts research on the extraction of 3D objects around the roads using the point cloud acquired by the MMS Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor through the following steps. First, the digital surface model (DSM) is generated using MMS LiDAR data, and then the slope map is generated from the DSM. Next, the 3D objects around the roads are identified using the slope information. Finally, 97% of the 3D objects around the roads are extracted using the morphological filtering technique. This research contributes a plan for the application of automated driving technology by extracting the 3D objects around the roads using spatial information data acquired by the MMS sensor.

Development of Integrated Flood Analysis Program for Standardization of Disaster Map (재해지도 작성 표준화를 위한 내·외수 통합 침수해석 프로그램(i-FIM)의 개발)

  • 현재 우리나라에서는 행정안전부의 풍수해저감종합계획, 사전재해영향성검토협의, 재해위험지구개선사업 등에 해외에서 개발된 상용프로그램이 사용돼 접근성 저하로 인해 지자체 방재담당자의 실무나 대학에서 연구용으로 다루기에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 내수침수, 외수침수, 2차원 침수해석으로 구성하여 GUI 기능을 강화한 통합침수재해지도 작성시스템(i-FIM, Integrated Flood Inundation Modeling system)을 개발하여 입력자료의 구성 및 매개변수의 수정이 용이하게 함으로써 하수관망 등에 부분적인 설계 변경이 있는 경우 지자체 방재담당자가 간단한 작업을 통해 침수영향 변화를 쉽게 파악할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 상세한 지형의 반영이 필요한 도시지역의 2차원 침수해석의 경우 계산격자 망의 크기가 작아질수록 소요되는 계산시간이 기하급수적으로 증가하는 한계가 있어 i-FIM에서는 계산격자를 $2{\times}2$, $3{\times}3$, $5{\times}5$ Subgrid 형태의 격자를 적용하고, 병렬프로그래밍과 계산시간조정 기능을 추가하여 2차원 침수해석 모형의 계산 속도를 향상시켰다. 이를 실무에 적용하기 앞서 2006년 집중호우로 인해 안성시에서 발생한 제방 붕괴사상, 2016년 태풍 차바로 인해 울산시에서 발생한 제방 월류 사상을 통해 침수흔적도와 비교하여 검증을 실시하였다. i-FIM에서 최종적인 2차원 침수해석 결과는 2017년에 개정된 '재해지도 작성 기준 등에 관한 지침'의 침수심 등급 구분의 색채 설정에 따라 각 격자별 침수심을 표출함으로써 표준화된 재해지도 작성이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한, 포털사이트의 지도 및 위성지도에 표출함으로써 침수 위험이 발생할 수 있는 지역의 현재 이용 용도를 파악하여 침수재해에 대한 상세한 대책을 마련할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Localization of A Moving Vehicle using Backward-looking Camera and 3D Road Map (후방 카메라 영상과 3차원 도로지도를 이용한 이동차량의 위치인식)

  • In this paper, we propose a new visual odometry technique by combining a forward-looking stereo camera and a backward-looking monocular camera. The main goal of the proposed technique is to identify the location of a moving vehicle which travels long distance and comes back to the initial position in urban road environments. While the vehicle is moving to the destination, a global 3D map is updated continuously by a stereo visual odometry technique using a graph theorem. Once the vehicle reaches the destination and begins to come back to the initial position, a map-based monocular visual odometry technqieu is used. To estimate the position of the returning vehicle accurately, 2D features in the backward-looking camera image and the global map are matched. In addition, we utilize the previous matching nodes to limit the search ranges of the next vehicle position in the global map. Through two navigation paths, we analyze the accuracy of the proposed method.

3D Image Restitution of Weolmido by using Old Maps and Photos (고지도와 사진에 의한 월미도의 3차원 영상 복원)

  • Lots of changes in Weolmido have occurred in the historical and cultural aspects owing w the geographical features. This study aims at restoring Weolmido to the past shape three-dimensionally and analyzing its changes. For achieving this goal, I made use of paper maps made in 1918, 1928, and 1969, a digital map produced in 2008, and aerial photos photographed in 1954. And I attempted to grasp the architectural shape and the topographical limn by using photos in those times and put them to practical use for restitution. Image restitution was carried out under the method of mapping and photogrammetry. As the result of restitution, I could restore each shape of Weolmido for those past times to the original condition three-dimensionally and catch its changes according to the difference of times.
