In this Paper, a new harmonic imaging technique is proposed and evaluated experimentally. In the proposed method, a weighted chin signal with a hanning window is transmitted. The RF samples obtained on each array element are individually compressed by correlating with the reference signal defined as the 2nd harmonic (2f0) component of a transmitted chirp signal generated in a square-law system. The proposed method uses the compressed 2f0 component to form an image, for which the crosscorrelation term with f0 component should be suppressed below at least -60dB. After experiment, the 6dB pulse width and peak sidelobe level of the compressed 2f0 component were 0.7us and -60dB, respectively. This result shows that the proposed method can successfully eliminate the f0 component with a single transmit-receive event and therefore is more efficient than the conventional pulse inversion (PI) method in terms of frame rate. We also observed that the 2nd harmonic compont starts to decrease for source pressure higher than 210kPa in water, which implies that SNR of the 2nd harmonic imaging using short pulses cnanot be incresed beyond a certain limit.

In this paper, the fractal shape is applied to microstrip band pass filters and integrated on a high-resistivity Si substrate to solve conventional $2^{nd}$ harmonic problem. Conventional microstrip coupled line filters are popular in RF front ends, because they can be easily fabricated and integrated with other RF components. However, they typically have large second harmonics that can cause unwanted interference in interested frequency bands. Without any additional filters, the proposed Koch shape filters have suppressed the $2^{nd}$ harmonics by about -40 dB, so they can be used in systems such as direct conversion receiver with stringent harmonic suppression requirements.

The PDP(Plasma Display Panel) barrier rib material on the glass substrate was patterned for fabrication of the PDP cell using Nd:YAG laser(1064 nm) which can generate the second(532 nm) and forth(266 nm) harmonic wave by HGM(harmonic generation modules). At a scan speed of 20 ${\mu}m/s$ with the second harmonic wave(532 nm) of Nd:YAG laser, the etching threshold laser fluence of the PDP material was 6.5 $mJ/cm^2$ and a sample(thickness = 180 ${\mu}m$) on the glass substrate was removed clearly at a laser fluence of 19.5 $mJ/cm^2$. In order to increase the throughput of the fabrication we divided a single-beam into multi-beams by using a metal mask between the sample and the focusing lens. As a result, 10 lines of PDP cell were formed by one laser beam scanning at a scan speed of 200 ${\mu}m/s$ and a laser fluence of 2.86 $J/cm^2$.

In this paper a K-band harmonic oscillator competitive to ordinary Push-Push type oscillators is introduced. This oscillator is composed of two-X-band dielectric resonance circuits. To favor its harmonic generation, the load effect and the bias effect are studied to allow the maximum harmonic distortion. As results, the dielectric resonated load and the class A bias are used for the 2nd harmonic generation. analytical study for modelling of voltage controlled dielectric resonator is carried out with theoretical background. The performance of the circuit is evaluated by simulation using harmonic balanced method. The novel structure has ont only a voltage tuning circuit but also an output port at fundamental frequency as the function of prescaler for phase lockede loop application on the just single oscillation structure. In experimentation, the output freqneyc of the 2nd harmonic signal is 20.5GHz and the maximum power level of output is +5.5dBm without additional post amplifiers. the harmonic oscillator exhibits -30dBc of high fundamental frequency rejection without added extra filters. The phase noise of -90dBc/Hz at 100kHz off-carrier has been achieved under free running condition, that satisfies phase noise requirement of IESS 308. The proposed oscillator may be utilized as the clean and stable fixed local oscillator in Transmit Block Upconvertor(TBU) or Low oise Block downconvertor(LNB) for K/Ka-band digital communications and satellite broadcastings.

This study considers the magnitude of the harmonic components radiated from the ultrasonic contrast agents (UCA) activated by a typical diagnostic ultrasound. The nonlinear dynamic response of UCA to a 2 MHz diagnostic ultrasound pulse was predicted using Gilmore Model. The elastic property of the shell membrane of the UCA was ignored in the numerical model. Simulation was carried out for the UCA varying from 1 - 9 $\mu$m in its initial radius and the driving diagnostic ultrasound whose mechanical index (MI) ranges from 0.125 to 8. The powers of the sub. ultra and second harmonics of the acoustic signal from the UCA activated were compared with that of the fundamental component. The results show that. if the UCA is bigger than its resonant size (2 $\mu$m in radius for the present case) the sub harmonic power was much bigger than the fundamental. In particular, the 2nd harmonic component currently used as an imaging parameter for the harmonic imaging, was predicted to be lower in power than both the sub and the ultra harmonic component. This study indicates that, for obtaining harmonic imaging with UCA, the sub or ultra harmonics could be taken as imaging parameters better than the 2nd harmonic component.
The output characteristics of intracavity frequency doubling of laser-diode end-pumped Nd:S-VAP laser were investigated. Nd:S-VAP is suitable for a microchip laser medium, which has a low threshold property because of a very high value of the stimulated emission cross-section and lifetime product. The threshold energy measured was 81 J.ll. The second harmonic output energy measured was $126\mu\textrm{J}$at a pump energy of $2\mu\textrm{J}$. We described for intracavity frequency doubling by using theoretical calculations. Q-switched second harmonic energy measured was $15\mu\textrm{J}$per pulse with a pulse-width of 26 ns. at a pump energy of 2 mJ and an $M^2$ of 1.47 represented a good beam quality. ality.

In this paper, we have studied minimization of the kerf-width and surface burning, which occurred after the conventional singulation process of the multi-layer BGA board with copper, polyethylene and epoxy glass fiber. The high thermal energy of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser is used to cut the multi-layer board. The most considerable matter in the laser cutting of the multi-layer BGA boards is their different absorption coefficient to the laser beam and their different heat conductivity. The cut mechanism of a multi-layer BGA board using a 2$^{nd}$ harmonic Nd:YAG laser is the thermal vaporization by high temperature rise based on the Gaussian profile and copper melting point. In this experiment, we found that the sacrifice layer and Na blowing are effective in minimizing the surface burning by the reaction between oxygen in the air and the laser beam. In addition, N2 blowing reduces laser energy loss by debris and suppresses surface oxidation. Also, the beam incidence on the epoxy layer compared to polyimide was much more suitable to reduce damage to polyimide with copper wire for the multi layer BGA singulation. When the polyester double-sided tape is used as a sacrifice layer, surface carbonization becomes less. The SEM, non-contact 3D inspector and high-resolution microscope are used to measure cut line-width and surface morphology.

A popular method used by primary protection for power transformer is current ratio differential relaying (RDR) with 2nd harmonic restraints. In modern power transformer due to the use of low-loss amorphous material, the 2nd harmonic component during inrush is significantly reduced. The higher the capacitance of the high voltage status and underground distribution, the more the differential current includes the 2nd harmonic component during internal fault. Thus the conventional method may not operate properly. This paper proposes an advanced relaying algorithm and the prototype IED hardware design and it's real-time experimental results. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, the study is well constructed power system model including power transformer utilizing the EMTP software and the testing is made through simulation of various cases. The proposed relaying that is well constructed using DSP chip and microprocessor etc. has been developed and the prototype IED has been verified through on-line testing. The results show that an advanced relaying based prototype IED never mis-operated and correctly identified all the faults and that inrushes that are applied.
Propeller shaft is one of the main excitation source in the vehicle driveline. This paper presents the correlation of the propeller shaft and axle vibration. 10 D.O.F. lumped mass model is constructed to simulate the dirveline. Experimental apparatus is constructed to verify the simulation model and to measure the vibration signal of lthe driveline. The results of simulation and experiments show that propeller shaft excitation is 2nd harmonic of the rotational frequency. Axle housing vibration signal shows that axle resonate with 2nd harmonic of excitation frequency due to universal joint effect.
