The purpose of this study was to establish an in vitro culture method of tumor-specific T cells, and determine the efficacy of the cultured tumor-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTL) as an agent of anti-tumor immunotherapy against a murine lymphoma, TIMI.4. Tumor-specific T-lymphocytes derived from C57BL/6 mice (thy-1.2) immune to TIMI.4 were activated by in vitro stimulation with the irradiated TIMI.4 cells, and expanded by restimulation with TIMI.4 in the presence of the concanavalin A-stimulated rat spleen culture supernatant, and splenic antigen-presenting cells. In vitro restimulation enhanced markedly the proportion of $CD8^+$, a predominant surface marker of CTL and the cytotoxic activity in the cultured immune T cell population. The resulting TIMI.4-specific T cells were adoptively transferred into nude mice. The tumor cells residing in the host after 7 days of adoptive transfer to B6.PL (thy-1.1) mice were quantified by use of an antibody directed to the thy-1.2 allele. The TIMI.4 cells in the recipient nude mice were decreased in a dose-dependent manner. Anti-tumor activity of the TIMI.4-specific T cells was also demonstrated by a survival test, where the tumor-bearing nu/nu mice which received the activated T-cells survived about 30% longer than the control mice which received the tumor cells alone. These suggest that adoptive transfer of TIMI.4-specific T cells could be a candidate for effective therapy of the murine lymphoma.
With the maturity and fierce competition of domestic logistics market, Korea government is actively working on the overseas investments in global logistics market after establishing the basic plan since 2006. In particular, India is selected one of promising countries for logistics investments since it has more 1.1 billion people and is regarded as post-China. In fact, a number of global logistics enterprises have started their businesses in the logistics market of India so that the competition already started. In this regard, it is highly necessary to find out feasible investment projects and then detemin the priority of the alternatives for successful investments. Therefore this study proposes a fuzzy-based AHP model by which the overseas investment problem was systematically structured and then evaluated. The model was established by exploiting a fuzzy theory and AHP for capturing the inexactness and vagueness of information. The results show that the investment of port operations is the number one priority in the India's logistics market and ODCY operations, road transportations, forwarding operations, inland depot operations in order. Finally the proposed model will help Korea's policy makers to have a better reliable investment strategy.
A hyperthermophilic bacterium Thernotoga maritima produced thermostable ${\beta}-glucosidase$. The gene encoding ${\beta}-glucosidase$ from T. maritima MSB8 was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The en-zyme (BgIB) hydrolyzed ${\beta}-glucosidase$ linkages between glucose and alkyl, aryl of saccharide groups such as salicin, arbutin, and $_pNPG$. The insert DNA contained ORF with 2,166 bp encodes a 721 amino acids (calculated molecular mass of 80,964 and pl of 4.93). The amino a.id sequence of BglB showed the similarity to family 3 glycosyl hydrolases. The molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated to be approximately 81kDa by MUG-nondenaturing PAGE (4-methylumbelliferyl 13-D-glucoside-nondenaturing polyacrylamide gel electophoresis) and SDS-PACE. The ${\beta}-glucosidase$ exhibited maximal activity at pH 7.0 and $80^{\circ}C$. By exchanging two possible residues (Glu-232 and Asp-242) to Ala by site-directed mutagenesis method, it was found that these were essential for enzymatic activity.
In this study, the effects of growth temperature on structural and optical properties of hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorod arrays have been investigated. Zinc nitrate ($Zn(NO_3)_2$) and hexamethylenetetramine were used as precursors. The ZnO buffered Si(100) with a thickness of 40 nm was used as the substrates. The ZnO nanorods were grown on these substrates with the temperature ranging from 55 to $115^{\circ}C$. The results were characterized by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and room temperature photoluminescence measurements. Well-aligned ZnO nanorods arrays were obtained from all samples. The tips of nanorods were flat when the temperature was less than $95^{\circ}C$, and the sharp-tip nanoneedle-like morphologies were obtained with the temperature of $115^{\circ}C$. In addition, some bundles were on the nanorods arrays with $115^{\circ}C$ due to the non-equilibrium growth. The growth temperature could affect the crystal and optical properties of ZnO. For the effects on crystal properties, the intensity of (002) peak was increased as the temperature was increased to $75^{\circ}C$, then decreased as the temperature was further increased to $115^{\circ}C$. As for the effects on optical properties, the intensity ratio of UV peak to visible peak is increased with the temperature increasing and the strongest UV peak intensity was obtained with the growth temperature of $95^{\circ}C$.
Perovskite lanthanum doped lead titanate ($(Pb,La)TiO_{3}$ or PLT) thin films were successfully fabricated on Pt/TijSiO.iSi substrates at the temperatures as low as $440~500^{\circ}C$ by eleclron cyclotron resonance plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (ECR PECVII). Since the volatilities of the MC sources arid oxide molecules (especially Ph oxide) increased with increasing deposition temperature, the film deposition rate and the (I'b + La)/'Ti ratio decreased Stoichiometric perovskite PL'T films with good dielectric and leakeage current properties were obtained at the temperatures of $460~480^{\circ}C$. The lanthanum content of the film was nearly directly propotional to $La(DPM)_{3}$ flow rate. As the La/Ti ratio increased from 3.0 to 9.5%, the dielectric constant increased from 360 to 650 and the leakeage current density at 100kV/cm electric field decreased from $4{\times}10^{-5}$ to $4{\times}10_{-8}A/cm^2$.
To obtain the applicable data for fish oil utilization, the characteristics of filefish viscera oil were studied. The lipid content showed the lowest value$(38.8\%)$ from viscera of filefish caught in April and the highest value$(59.5\%)$ in July. The seasonal variation in fatty acids showed a tendency of high level of polyenes such as 20:5 and 22:6 and low level of saturates such as 16:0 and 18:0 during the spawning season. While level of monoenes such as 18:1 was low regardless of seasons. The viscera of filefish caught in April contained $46.7\%$ total lipid(TL) which consisted of $94.3\%$ neutral lipid(NL), $1.6\%$ glycolipid(GL) and $4.1\%$ phospholipid(PL). The NL of filefish viscera mainly consisted of triglyceride$(88.1\%)$ and had esterified sterol and hydrocarbon, free sterol, diglyceride and free fatty acid in less quantity. The major fatty acids in TL and NL were 16:0, 18:0, 18:1, 20:5 and 22:6.
We conducted a QTL analysis of agronomic traits using 117 $BC_3F_5$ and $BC_3F_6$ lines developed from a cross between Ilpumbyeo and Moroberekan. Genotypes of 117 $BC_3F_5$ lines were determined using 134 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. A total of 832 Moroberekan chromosome segments with 410 homozygous and 422 heterozygous, respectively, were detected, and the genetic distance of introgression segments ranged from 0.5 cm to 112.1 cm. A linkage map constructed using 134 SSR markers was employed to characterize quantitative trait loci (QTL). The 117 $BC_3F_5$ and $BC_3F_6$ lines were evaluated for seven agronomic traits at two locations in 2006 and 2007 and at one location in 2007. A total of 26 QTLs were identified for seven traits including days to heading, and the phenotypic variance explained by each QTL ranged from 9.2% to 24.2%. Moroberekan alleles contributed positive effects in the Ilpumbyeo background at eleven QTL loci including panicle length and spikelets per panicle. Five QTLs, two for days to heading and one each for culm length, panicle length and spikelets per panicle were consistently detected in every occasions indicating that these QTLs are stable. Among them, two QTLs, spp6 for spikelets per panicle and pl6 for paniclel length were localized in the similar region. Increase in spikelets per panicle at this locus might be due to the increase in panicle length, because both traits were associated with increase in spikelets per panicle and panicle length due to the presence of the Moroberekan allele. These Moroberekan QTLs might be useful in breeding programs to develop high-yielding cultivars.

Despite the development of assisted reproduction technologies (ART) including in vitro fertilization (IVF), the poor ovarian response and endometrial receptivity remains clinically a major unmet need. Although these problems are difficulties to solve in infertility treatment, there are no good therapeutic option yet. Traditional herbal remedies and acupuncture, therefore are being proposed as alternative treatment. Our group found that traditional herbal medicines such as Paeonia lactiflora L.(PL, 芍藥), Cyperus rotundus L.(CR, 香附子), and Perilla frutescens (PF, 紫蘇葉) could improve endometrial receptivity. In this study, we found out Yeosin-san (如神散) as an optimal herbal formula via combination of the previously established herbal medicines. Yeosin-san is a traditional Korean medical formula which was established by Ziming Jin (陳自明) and recorded in Furendaiquanliangfang (婦人大全良方) at first. The formula traditionally used for treating abnormal uterine bleeding and leukorrhea. It showed a highest effect on leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) expression and on the adhesion between trophoblastic cells and endometrial cells. In addition, it has been shown that the Yeosin-san not only increases the endometrial receptivity to improve the embryo implantation but also enhances the ovary function by expressing the angiogenesis-related genes. Here we suggest that Yeosin-san could be a novel and effective candidate for treating female infertility.
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the performance of KOMPSAT-3 Digital Surface Model (DSM) made in overseas testbed area. To that end, we collected the KOMPSAT-3 in-track stereo image taken in San Francisco, the U.S. The stereo geometry elements (B/H, converse angle, etc.) of the stereo image taken were all found to be in the stable range. By applying precise sensor modeling using Ground Control Point (GCP) and DSM automatic generation technique, DSM with 1 m resolution was produced. Reference materials for evaluation and calibration are ground points with accuracy within 0.01 m from Compass Data Inc., 1 m resolution Elevation 1-DSM produced by Airbus. The precision sensor modeling accuracy of KOMPSAT-3 was within 0.5 m (RMSE) in horizontal and vertical directions. When the difference map was written between the generated DSM and the reference DSM, the mean and standard deviation were 0.61 m and 5.25 m respectively, but in some areas, they showed a large difference of more than 100 m. These areas appeared mainly in closed areas where high-rise buildings were concentrated. If KOMPSAT-3 tri-stereo images are used and various post-processing techniques are developed, it will be possible to produce DSM with more improved quality.
The pandemic of COVID-19 also affected performing arts business and stimulated 'Untact' performances, which means online streaming of the shows including real-time streaming. This study sought to examine factors to the consumers' acceptance. The research framework was based on the VAM, a revised model of TAM for the ICT products and services. For the research, consumer survey was conducted, where ndependent variables are perceived usefulness, pleasure, technicalty and innovation resistance, and dependent variables are percieved value and acceptance. Smart PLS was used to test the hypothesis. The result shows that the significant factors were percieved usefulness(+), pleasure(+) and innovation resistance(-). The percieved technicalty was not significant, the major reason would be that the digital devices and the internet technology are percieved a commodity these days in Korea. Percieved value was significant factor to acceptance. This study is meaningful because it is about the new phenomenon of 'untact' performance through the VAM methodology and it examined the significant factors to the attitude from the perspective of benefits and costs. There is limit that this study didn't consider old peoples' attitude. It is the reason that the continuous researches are necessary.
