A robot system encompassing a remote control and monitoring through a virtual robot design is addressed and a tracking problem for a 2D (2 dimension) moving target by a robot vision is chosen as a case study. The virtual robot is developed, and it synchronizes with the real robot by compensating delay time. Two systems are displayed on a remote panel by communicating command and image data. The virtual robot utilizes an OpenGL library in Visual $C^{++}$ environment. Additionally, the remote monitoring and control between the real robot and the virtual robot are accomplished by employing an appropriate data compression in a network communication.

In this paper, PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) sensor system that estimates position for moving objects in 2D plane is developed. PSD sensor is used to measure the position of an incidence light in real-time. To get the position of light source of moving target, a new parameter calibration algorithm and neural network technique are proposed and applied. Real-time position measurements of the mobile robot with light source is examined to validate the proposed method. It is shown that the proposed technique provides accurate position estimation of the moving object.

We have studied on the 2-D moving target tracking algorithm satisfying a real-time hardware implementation requirement. In this paper, a fast algorithm is developed based on the operator formulation and the variational algorithm f 10] . Here, we use the directed search for the maximum of the cross-correlation in order to obtain an initial estimate for the variational algorithm and decompose the scene into 16 smaller subblocks and apply the variational algorithm to each subblock sequentially with a new moving area detection method. We call the algorithm subblock based recursive algorithm. Compared with (10) , the ratio of the computational savings obtained from the proposed algorithm is 7 on the average.
In this paper, an autonomous surveillance-tracking system for Workers monitoring basing on the stereo vision scheme is proposed. That is, analysing the characteristics of the cross-axis camera system through some experiments, a optimized stereo vision system is constructed and using this system an intelligent worker surveillance-tracking system is implemented, in which a target worker moving through the environments can be detected and tracked, and its resultant stereo location coordinates and moving trajectory in the world space also can be extracted. From some experiments on moving target surveillance-tracking, it is analyzed that the target's center location after being tracked is kept to be very low error ratio of 1.82%, 1.11% on average in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. And, the error ratio between the calculation and measurement values of the 3D location coordinates of the target person is found to be very low value of 2.5% for the test scenario on average. Accordingly, in this paper, a possibility of practical implementation of the intelligent stereo surveillance system for real-time tracking of a target worker moving through the environments and robust detection of the target's 3D location coordinates and moving trajectory in the real world is finally suggested.

Purpose: To accurately define internal target volume (ITV) for treatment of moving target considering tumor size and respiratory motion, we quantitatively investigated volume of target volume delineated on CT images from helical CT and 4D CT scans. Materials and Methods: CT images for a 1D moving phantom with diameters of 1.5, 3, and 6 cm, acryl spheres were acquired using a LightSpeed $RT^{16}CT$ simulator. To analyze effect of tumor motion on target delineation, the CT image of the phantoms with various moving distances of 1~4 cm, and respiratory periods of 3~6 seconds, were acquired. For investigating the accuracy of the target trajectory, volume ratio of the target volumes delineated on CT images to expected volumes calculated with diameters of spherical phantom and moving distance were compared. Results: Ratio$_{helical}$ for the diameter of 1, 5, 3, and 6 cm targets were $32{\pm}14%$, $45{\pm}14%$, and $58{\pm}13%$, respectively, in the all cases. As to 4DCT, RatioMIP were $98{\pm}8%$, $97{\pm}5%$, and $95{\pm}1%$, respectively. Conclusion: The target volumes delineated on MIP images well represented the target trajectory, in comparison to those from helical CT. Target volume delineation on MIP images might be reasonable especially for treatment of early stage lung cancer, with meticulous attention to small size target, large respiratory motion, and fast breathing.

The aim of this study is to find out the behavior and acoustic backscattering of the large jellyfish Nemopliema nomurai using hydroacoustics in situ. N. nomurai was distributed at depths ranging from 10~15 m during the day. Regarding the behavior of N. nomurai, there was no significant change in depth, and 3D tortuosity was not high. The vertical direction was ${\pm}10^{\circ}$ from the horizontal, and moving speed was $0.9{\sim}1.5\;m\;s^{-1}$. With regard to hydro-acoustical characteristics, the mean TS of N. nomurai ranged from -69.6~-56.0 dB at 38 kHz and -69.4~-54.5 dB at 120 kHz. TS variation (Max TS-Min TS) at 38 and 120 kHz was 0~10.2 dB and 0.2~16.0 dB, respectively. Mean TS and TS variation (Max TS-Min TS) of N. nomurai were higher at 120 kHz than at 38 kHz. The results showed that the use of hydroacoustics was effective in estimating the distribution depth, behavior, and acoustic characteristics of the target.

A practical method is proposed to improve hit probability of the digital gun fire control system, when the measured rate of the tracking sensor becomes biased under some operational situation. For ground moving target it is shown that the well-known Kalman filter which uses position measurement only can be optimally used to eliminate the rate bias error. On the other hand, for 3D moving aircraft we present a new algorithm which incorporate FIR-type filter, which uses position and rate measurement at the same time, and the fixed-lag smoother using position measurement only, and show that it has the optimal performance in terms of both estimation accuracy and response time.

This paper proposes an advanced visual tracking algorithm for the stable grasping of a moving target(2D). This algorithm is programmed to find grasping points of an unknown polygonal object and execute visual tracking. The Kalman Filter(KF) algorithm based on the SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) is applied to the visual tracking system for the tracking of a moving object. The KF based on the SVD improves the accuracy of the tracking and the robustness in the estimation of state variables and noise statistics. In addition, it does not have the numerical unstability problem that can occur in the visual tracking system based on Kalman filter. In the grasping system, a parameterized family is constructcd, and through the family, the grasping system finds the stable grasping points of an unknown object through the geometric properties of the parameterized family. In the previous studies, many researchers have been studied on only 'How to track a moving target'. This paper concern not only on 'how to track' but also 'how to grasp' and apply the grasping theory to a visual tracking system.

Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) printing with the aid of strong electric fields can generate and pattern droplets that are smaller than droplets by other printing technologies. Conventional EHD printing has created two-dimensional (2D) patterns by moving its nozzle or a substrate in X and Y directions. In this study, we aimed to develop an EHD system that can create 2D patterns using a multielectrode array (MEA) without moving a nozzle or substrate. In particular, printing ink mixtures of biodegradable polymers and model dyes was patterned on a thin film made of another biodegradable polymer. Without movement of a nozzle and substrate, stable 2D patterning of minimum $6{\mu}m$ size over a range of about 1 mm away from the nozzle position was achieved by MEA control only. We also demonstrated the possibility of denser 2D pattering of the ink mixtures by moving a target substrate relative to MEA position.
